The dentist has to be signed up with smile too. So you can't just go to any dentist. The dentist might do payment plans for ya but you gotta basically pay straight away after you've visited so, no waiting list.

After booking in the dentist who is registered for Medibank as well as Smile I asked what the cost would be . For a Medibank member it's $250 for an examination, scale and lean etc. it's a bit cheaper coz it's a members first. Then I said what about if I have a Smile card. The problem is you have to check price before you apply to use it. Because the price is not standard but by individual dentists themselves. I went to local Dentist for my kid insult was cost $50 and to ring from Smile Dr. is also $51 after discount because some Smile Dr. are more expensive. Do you have any suggestion before I apply?
Join up and give it a try. Whilst it might sound like russian roulette it's only around $150. You'll probably get some value down the track at some point. You'll be ok.
I would suggest shopping around for quotes before deciding on which dentist to go to. It's true, some dentists charge ridiculously high fees so it's always best to shop around.
