Initial battery issues but works well now
Took a bit of getting used to operating it with the different buttons etc and to learn what certain lights and colours mean. In the beginning it was depleting a battery every week so I contacted the australian distributor and they sent a replacement. Unfortunately I had to send the faulty one to them before I got the new one so we were without that peace of mind for about a month. I had to ring to find out where the replacement one was and apparently there was some issue and the lady I spoke to said it should have been posted but hadn't been an...Read more
d apologised for that. They also sent an additional battery. Since getting the replacement 4 months ago I haven't had to replace the battery. I mainly only use it at night unless baby is unwell. It has "false" alarmed a couple of times. One time the nappy wasn't on tight enough so the sensor came away from baby's belly. Another time my husband didn't clip it in properly and it came loose. Last night it alarmed and I didn't wake up straight away. If it wasn't for my husband alerting me and jumping up, I may not have woken up soon enough if it was serious. That worries me as my husband works away. Tonight I have the monitor volume turned up higher in case it goes off again so I wake up straight away. Our baby was moving about when the alarm went off and it hadn't dislodged or come away so we are a bit baffled by it. Our baby does pull her legs up when she wakes during the night so that could have cause the sensor tip to push too hard against her belly and stop sensing the movement but I'm surprised she didn't move when it vibrated, as it then went to the alarm after the 5 seconds...? Overall, it has been great for the peace of mind until it goes off like last night and you wonder if your baby stopped breathing momentarily, which is a scary thought! It portability is wonderful; we've taken it on holidays with us. It didn't work on the cloth nappies as they're too thick and the sensor doesn't touch the belly so I always put baby in a disposable before sleeps.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Disappointing quality
I'm onto my second Snuza Trio in just over a year. The first one stopped charging the monitor so I got a replacement via the Australia distributor and I've only had the second new one since March and the same issue has occurred. The distributor has sent me a new charger, but it's not charger the monitor so I will now need to follow up with them again. For the premium price you pay for this unit you expect it to be made to a higher standard.

Peace of mind
This is an absolutely brilliant invention. I have recommended it to every single of my friends who have had babies sins me. I had 3 Snuzas, One for home, a back up in case it stopped working and one in the overnight bag. I'm a neurotic mum and had my daughter sleeping next to me in her Amby hammock every night. The Snuza gave me total Peace of Mind. Without this, I doubt that I would have slept in the first year. For just over $120 it is a MUST Have for any parent. The vibration & alarm function are perfect. We rarely had issues with false alar...Read more
ms & I am convinced that this item saved my child. It went off and I reefed her out of her hammock and had to give her a couple of shakes to wake her. Such a horrible experience but much better than the potential alternative should we not have used the SnuzaSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

My number one baby product!
Found out about the Snuza Hero when [name removed] was a few weeks old and wish I had have known it existed sooner. Haven't had any alarms, false or otherwise, but worth every cent for the peace of mind and subsequent quality sleep we get not worrying. We'll see how it goes when he starts rolling, but this item is my number one recommendation for new parents!

Snuza trio 'hero plus monitor' great!
Pros: I feel confident in its reliability. Has solid range despite thick brick wall and concrete slab obstacles. Remote pan tilt and zoom of camera is handy. Two way radio is crystal clear. Hero breathing monitor is portable and accurate.
Cons: portable monitor has only about 2hrs battery. Screen resolution is not brilliant. For the cost price I would expect bells and whistle features such as night light, lullaby sounds, Skype/wifi compatible etc.

Great for all parents who worry about SIDS!
I worried extensively about my baby since she came out so small, and being a first time mother I worried even more about SIDS. I bought one after reading a lot of reviews online. I was quite surprised when it arrived, it was very small but of course, very proportionate to the size of my baby. Since it is so small and light, I could even clip it to my baby when she's asleep, and she wouldn't even notice it on her. It is also portable so I bring it out with me whenever I am shopping with my baby in tow. I read a review at [link removed] where sh...Read more
e tested it on herself, and I did the same as well. It was loud! There are also lights that flashes so you know the device is working. You will also need to press two buttons simultaneously to turn the device off, so if your baby moves a lot in his/her sleep, you are assured that he/she will not turn the device off accidentally. Small, light and reliable. Loud alarm! NothingSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Saved my sanity
Brought the Snuzza hero after having several false alarms with my under bed monitor. Continued ticking telling me my baby was alive when in actual fact she was in my arms. Snuzza can be used anywhere and is loud enough to be heard under bed sheets etc. I know it'd it works as my baby breathes it ticks. No breathing no tick and then it alarms. Would definitely buy another one as it is money well spent

Only lasted a year before it broke
We used the snuza with our first son and it was fine up until he was 12 months then it started doing funny things, thought it might be something to do with the battery so just stopped using it and put away until next baby. Now I got a new battery for it and it's still not working properly, it seems to just turn itself on when it's just sitting on the bench, only way I can get it to stop going off is to take battery out. Very disappointed in poor quality product, if it breaks this quickly how can you trust it to save your baby's life

I love this thing.
I'm suffering from post natal anxiety and my Snuza helps me SO much. It gives me a lot of peace of mind. I had some issues with battery running out after only one night's use (not fun when batteries are more than $10 a pop), but I got it exchanged and it has been fine again so far. I really could not recommend this more. I did not expect to have anxiety, and I would have LOVED to have my Snuza from the get go, so I highly recommend it to anyone.

Perfect for piece of mind!
We got this for our premature baby and it is so perfect for piece of mind. He did stop breathing when we finally got him home and it was right before we bought this. Thankfully he was ok but without this I don't think I would get a wink of sleep!

Best invention ever!
This was a piece of mind purchase for us turned out to be a very valuable one.
On the third night we using the Snuza hero the alarm went off early in the morning. While doctors and nurses all wanted to right it off as a false alarm I used my mummy's instincts and investigated further. I didn't buy this device for it to go off and disregard it as a false alarm. After a sleep study was conducted on my three month old baby it was then discovered that she actually had sleep apnea where she forgets to breath in her sleep!
She is now being closely monitored but I definitely owe this discovery to the Snuza hero. Mark my word this device works.
Highly recommend it to all soon to be mums

Worth every penny
I got this because as an anxious ftm I would constantly be checking on baby's breathing while he slept, disturbing his and my rest. This little contraption is easy to use and it works very well. We haven't had any false alarms but the other night ( he had a cold) the vibration feature went off as he must have not taken a breath in 15 seconds. I heard the vibration and then bub moved and took a big breath! It then happened early next morning. It was really reassuring that the monitor was doing its' job. I have it on him most of the time switched off. It's easy enough to press the on switch through his clothes when he falls asleep. Highly recommended.
Small and easy to use, portable and doesn't bother the baby at all.
nothing so far

Every parent needs this!!!
I don't know where to start. This is my third baby and even though we still had a large breathing monitor under the cot matteress, I thought one of these would be great for travel and during the day when bub falls asleep in the pram. However we use it all the time when bub sleeps.
It's light, portable and very small. I was shocked with how small this is. Can be clipped on clothes (like pants or anything with a waste band).
I did buy mine in as new condition, so not totally brand new. I did also find batteries for this cheaper online, using LS...Read more

Great gadget
I love this little gadget, and I'm so pleased I got it. You clip it onto the top of the nappy (or to a waistband) and the tip (which is soft) rests against the baby's belly and registers the movement of their stomach going up and down with each breath. A little light flashes with each movement. If there's no movement for 15 secs it vibrates, and if there's still no movement by 20 secs an alarm goes off. If the vibrate triggers the baby to move, and this happens 3 times the alarm will go off. It can go under other clothes, and I find having...Read more
a bodysuit/onesie over the top helps hold it in place. It has a feature where you can turn on a ticking sound with each breath, which I would definitely have used if I'd had it when he was first born - esp in the car where he's facing backwards so I can't see he's ok. I've got a 4 month old, and I got the Snuza about 2 months ago. Since then we've had one "false alarm", which I think was it coming loose (my husband got to the baby before I did and in the dark and everything he wasn't 100% sure). The alarm is loud but not THAT loud (especially once it's under a couple of layers of clothing) and it just made the baby stir, he didn't wake up. I looked into the sensor pads, but I was put off by talk of false alarms and having to adjust sensitivity, plus the recall on the AngelCare pads as babies had died getting caught in the cords. At the moment my baby can't roll over (he's still in the bassinet and there isn't room), but I'm not sure what will happen once he can move around more, I know it can be positioned more to the side, but I imagine it'll come off more easily. I still wake up and check on him, but now I can see the light on the Snuza flashing (in the dark you can usually see it if the clothes aren't too thick). And I can go back to sleep feeling like everything is ok, rather than laying awake worrying he might have SIDS while I'm sleeping. I will be travelling soon, and it's fantastic knowing I can just take this with me. Easy to use, portable, peace of mind If you don't get it on before the baby goes to sleep then you might not want to disturb them putting it on.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

The most important item a new parent needs.
The snuza is perfect for those parents wanting to do all they can to prevent SIDS for their precious baby. It is simple to use- just clips on to nappy or pants. It is very sensitive and always works well. Batteries replaceable. I have had it go off a few times but luckily all false alarms (bub was fine, snuza just moved off bub while feeding him in the night). It definitely makes you wake up when the alarm sounds! I have used it on my 9 week old baby from birth and it is non intrusive in daily care- I can clip it on without him knowing it once ...Read more
asleep. It can be used anywhere bub goes- unlike the mat sensor type monitors. It's small and compact. Affordable price - what price would you have on your babies life though??! I think every parent should get one as it protects your bub from SIDS and lets you relax and sleep without worrying about bubs breathing. It's like a guardian angel keeping watch over your baby when you aren't with them. Ease if use and reliability.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Amazing!
i dont know what i would do without the snuza monitor.. in my babies first year it went off many times and i ran in to a blue baby.. it has literally saved my sons life on more than one occasion.. we have since found out he has obstructive sleep apnoea but without the snuza we wouldnt have had a chance to figure that out.. well worth the money! absolutely love it!
easy to fit, reliable, great for travelling and if more than one person in the bed, easy to fit in the nappy bag if your going to the shops etc
a little hard to set up first time but once its done its great..

Questions & Answers
Ceejasked
I’m having a bit of trouble getting my snuza to stay put! My 4 month old now sleeps through the night resulting in a full nappy by the early hours of the morning, this then causes the snuza to dislodge enough for the sensor to not touch enough and set the alarm off. I have found after using this i now have anxiety if he’s not wearing it but would like to continue to use. Is there a way to get it to sit better? Like Velcro or something?
2 answers
Good question! I only used the Snuza hero when my daughter was a newborn and now we use breathing sensor pads under her mattress. Velcro may work but I haven't tried it! Sorry!
Hey i found the best way was wearing tights over a top that buttoned at the crotch then i would just clip it on his pants. Hope this helps!

Hi, I’m wanting to buy a monitor that I can use while baby sleeps in his swing. Does this monitor detect bubs breathing if he is in the swing that moves constantly? Or will it pick up the movement of the swing? If your product doesn’t work while the baby is in something that moves, do you know of any other monitor that will? Thanks
1 answer
Hi Jaymee, the Snuza detects the motion of the baby's tummy going up and down so I'm sure it would be fine in a swing. Basically you clip it onto the baby's nappy and each time the tip touches the stomach (as the stomach rises and falls) it senses movement. I hope that helps!
Louisaasked
Does the Snuza work if attached to the back of baby's nappy if he sleeps on his tummy?
1 answer
Im actually not sure. Our boy is 9 months old now and only uses it at night. We still have it on the front of his nappy even though he sleeps on his tummy now.
