From the start the salesman was awesome then once they had my first instalment it went down hill lack communication amongst staff fitter turning up without all the components then doing a pathetic job having to chase them to fix the faults then having to take a day off just to supervise them to make sure the job was up to standard save your money and save yourself the stress find someone else

How their business survives is amazing!
We engaged Solomons Cleveland in January to install remote control roller blinds in our new premises. From then on, nothing went to plan. First the fabric we selected from the samples provided was not available. Then the installer arrived but ony had 3 of the 4 blinds, and did not have the pelmet materials. On the second install visit, they installed the 4th blind and half the pelmet. Throughout this drawn out saga, communications with the Cleveland office were poor. Calls not returned, unhelpful staff and a manager who clearly didn't want to talk to us. Damage to newly renovated unit. Disappointed with response
Had plantation shutters installed in our newly renovated unit 5 days after the renovation was completed. Firstly, installation was not done in timeframe as promised when quoted. Secondly, there was damage to our kitchen tap and some of the paint. Have tried to communicate with company to have this remedied. 2 weeks later, still no phone call or response to find a solution

No show and Poor customer service
They came fitted one side awning, but couldn't finish otherside. Because the dimensions were wrong. They told coming back next day, but never. Even no phone call. We email them but no reply until I called.They will contact us immediately at the time of payment, but they will be indifferent to email from us. I hope finish job as soon as possible.

Products en service doesn't meet expectations
A few years ago Solomons supplied our Venetians. Product is fine, but controls on all windows are on the wrong side! Not a good communications job. Recently we ordered verishades directly. The supplied tracks look unfinished and obviously are missing a trim. The supplied tracks are not shown on the website and apparently the "standard tracks" are not available on our colour. Beware of false expectations with Solomons, and double check every word in every confirmation to avoid disappointment.

Good product and service
We first used Solomons 6 years ago for 3 external Vertical Awnings. Overall we are very pleased with their product and service; we like the ease of use of the channel system for the blind operation. The only downside for us is the hood isn’t neat and flush from the outside.

t at good as Solomons’. We called Solomons back this year for an Automatic Awning. The rep was very professional and their pricing was competitive. On initial installation, the blind had some dirty marks. Without hesitation, the blind was taken back and remade. On second installation, there were some small creases in the fabric; they have since stretched out. However, with Solomons’ past record regarding service, we are confident that had we not accepted the blind a second time, they would have returned until it was completed to our satisfaction. The only adverse comment is that when the dirty blind was returned to the factory initially, there was a lack of communication and it would have been helpful to have received a phone call saying the blind was being remade and when we could expect reinstallation. I have no hesitation using the company again. We are looking at another Automatic Awning and will be calling Solomons.1 comment

Light weight construction and incompetent installation
If you don't want your blinds to look like the attached photos after less than 3 years then don't buy from this crowd.
Installed using incorrect fixings (screws too short for the thread to reach the backing.)
After sales service non existent. Ask you to email and then ignore the issue when they realise that they really do have a problem

Poor service and quality
I should have read reviews before committing to having a security screen fitted by this company, so many problems with the fitting and the screen being scratched and other items too long to list, I have made several attempts to contact them and still no reply back to rectify this ....very poor service and quality

Amazing to have a screen door.
Service and personal interaction was great. Love the door it's the 2nd one we have had installed with Solomons and now just waiting for a breeze to blow in and cool us down. Everyone from our first contact to Paul the installer was very professional and was all too easy. Lovely staff would use them again.

Best Customer Service!
Couldnt recommend Paul Bremner enough. He did our security screens on the whole house and was a delight. He worked extremely hard for us and made sure we were happy with the final result. I have been and will continue to recommend Paul to anyone.

Good experience and quality product
Have utilised Solomons before in my previous home at a good price and had a great experience, so went with Solomons again. Paul Bremner was polite, efficient and knew what he was doing. Offered me a great deal and I hope the installation will be seamless as well.

APPALLING experience with Onesolomon's Blinds and Screens of Cleveland.
I truly regret having chosen One Solomons of Cleveland. From start to finish, cheap product, poor workmanship and awful interaction. Too much detail, but put simply, I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.

Really bad service when you need them
I called the service number as my blinds won’t open, they are under warranty and firstly they requested to take a photo to them, they then asked what was happening and then said it wouldn’t be for that, as if I would know, then I told them to come look for yourself, I had to call them 3 days later and they said they’ll come next week sometime, in the meantime I’m in the dark and can’t open the doors to get out, what if a fire broke out?

Very poor service also their product
We had our patio blind installed in OCt 18. The job was done by very inexperienced staff. The measurement was not matching with the product was installed, the screens came out from the frame when it is rolled up or down until now still not done/ fixed and many more fault. We were promised by the salesman everything will be good but it came out with very poor job. Very unhappy

Excellent service and quality product
I had Solomons install my blinds and security screens 20 years ago when we first built our home. I did have another company install some blinds to replace the wooden one's we initially had however they were nowhere near the quality of the original Solomons blinds. Solomon’s roller blinds buckle!! Staff and they are hopeless.
I have tried to call to complain that my roller blinds buckle and the manger is away, in a meeting or has left early. Jason never returns my calls this has been going on for months!!!! I would never recommend this company and it’s so much money!

My Wife and I went into solomons in Capalaba QLD December 2018 and chose some blinds with the salesman and he said he would get someone to contact us to come around measure up and give us a price...…. still waiting.... tick-tock.....tick tock, forget it solomons will go elsewhare.
Makes me wonder how some companies survive with incomptant employees.

Not told the whole truth
Purchased Hampton shutters was told 6 to 8 weeks, when we did not receive them we rang up to be told that they were in a container and they could not tell us when they would arrive. Company advertises as local company employing local people. We were never told that the shutters were to be made overseas otherwise we would have gone elsewhere. Very disappointed thought We we’re supporting local manafacturer. Paid over $4000.00. Shutters broke as soon as installer left. Shutters still not repaired. Shutters also poor quality and the installation is very poor. Still trying to get resolution but no one will speak to me and resolve the issue. Be aware buying from this company make sure you are told the whole truth

"Hi Anthony. We apologise for the delay in receiving your product. Our fitting office will be in touch as soon as possible to arrange an install date. The Hampton shutters are the only product in our range not made in Australia, and one of only four (out of 40+) that we don't manufacture at our Cleveland factory. We are not aware of any supplier making these type of shutters locally. We take pride in being a local manufacturer and supporting local jobs. We are not sure how this was overlooked with your rep but will have them follow up with you." It's ironic that you would title this review "not told the whole truth" particularly in relation to your statement that "no one will speak to me and resolve the issue". Let me remind you of some facts: 1. We contacted you as soon as we received your initial report and attended your house on the 15/12 to assess for repair. We advised you that the products would need to be returned to our factory which you declined. You were advised you would be contacted at a later date to arrange a time for an onsite repair to be carried out. 2. On 18/12 you contacted our office and threatened the female staff member who took your call that if you did not receive a call back from management you would come down to the office and "make a scene" 3. Three minutes later you called and left a similar threatening message on the voice mail of the consultant who had initially visited your home. 4. She called you back as she wanted to remind you of the conversations you had on her first visit, how you were shown both locally made and imported shutters on your kitchen table and how your wife said she' had the imported ones before and wanted them again. She also advised you we would attend on 27/12 to carry out an on-site repair of your shutters. 5. You then sent her texts calling people in our company weak and gutless. I'm happy to publish them if you can't remember. 6. I (the weak and gutless manager) then called you back myself and arranged for the repair to be carried out today 21/12. So I'm not sure how this falls into the category of "no one will speak to me and resolve the issue" considering we have been in contact with you at every step and have an appointment scheduled to attend the repair. Payment of security doors before being installed, is this normal practice? We've paid a deposit then get told a further deposit of funds is required before installation can be done? I wasn't aware of this practice and feel very uncomfortable, uneasy paying for something that you haven't got isn't right.

You pay for the company to order the doors upfront in case you cancel the contract and the company are left with security door and windows that only fit your home & it’s to cover part of their loses in case you decide not to go ahead.

It is standard across the industry for a pre-delivery payment to be made. Typically this is only required once the product is manufactured and usually the day before the install is scheduled to occur. The remaining balance is then payable upon satisfactory completion. These amounts should all be detailed on your quote.
It's similar to buying custom made furniture where usually a deposit is paid and then the balance paid prior to the furniture being delivered to your home.
