Spinaleze Medium Pillow

I received my pillow, with much anticipation, a couple of days ago. I'm afraid that I must dissent from the favourable reviews, as I have found the pillow totally unsuitable for my purposes. It is very solid, with sharp edges, and much too hard to comfortably rest my head on. It felt like I was resting my head on something approaching a brick. I gave it about half an hour, trying different resting positions. I concluded that there is no way that I could ever use it, and now face the prospect of being stuck with an extremely expensive 'white elephant'. I regret being the bearer of a very negative review. Could I prevail on you redress my dissatisfaction by inviting me to return this pillow, and to refund the entire purchase price? The pillow, and slip, were repacked immediately and are thus in absolutely pristine condition. I would greatly appreciate your sympathetic consideration, and thank you in anticipation. Sincerely, Ron

It doesn't sound like you have a Spinaleze pillow, i have 8 of the Spinaleze pillows, husband, kids, and grand kids and they all love it. And i am going to buy my neighbour Kimberley the Spinaleze medium size for Christmas present.

Did they refund you?

KBee. Yes, Spinaleze refunded me the purchase price, less an administrative fee. I was thankful. They were quite pleasant to deal with.

My neighbour bought one earlier this year on my recommendation and she loves it as well. HAPPY DAYS.

Spinaleze Medium Pillow

How hard is the Medium pillow? I cannot handle a pillow pushing on my neck, so have been using a down pillow. I need a pillow that has minimal 'push back'.

Medium refers to the height of the pillow not the softness. The pillows are quite a bit firmer then a feather pillow as they intend to keep your spine aligned while sleeping. If you live in Sydney I would suggest you pay a visit to the shop so as to test the pillow before you buy it.

How do people go sleeping when away without your Spinaleze pillow?

Easy ! You simply ROLL the pillow up - you can tie it up and pack it in the suitcase.
Because it is a memory material, the pillow returns to its original shape and size.
Hope that helps!

How do you know which model to choose. Low medium or high. ???

I followed the guidelines on the spinal eze website which suggest that a I need a large since I am a side sleeper. I am 6 foot 3 and have never been comfortable with other large pillows in the past but these pillows seem to mould and give a floating sort of feeling, so I'm glad I followed their recomendations.

Correct ..Depending on how broad your shoulders are...average shoulders
( that is from the edge of your neck TO the edge of your shoulder - usually approx 5" or 13cm ) a MEDIUM Profile would suit
If you have BROAD shoulders (that
Is from the edge of your neck TO the edge of your shoulder- usually OVER 5" or 13cm) a High would suit.
For Back Sleepers we would recommend a LOW Profile pillow.

Female or male, broad shoulders? If you are average size I would say a medium (I'm about 65 kgs), as I said in my review I have a small for a filler, that I take for travel but I use a medium at home. Pillows are such a personal thing, you either love them or hate them, they need to be worn in like a pair of shoes, I must say I bought the large first but found after a month I needed to go to the medium. I know it might seem to be an expensive way to go but like your favorite pair of shoes they might need a little time. My son got my large and he loves it.

Either medium or high. If you're male and/or broad shouldered I'd lean towards high. But sleep is so important perhaps buy a medium and a high and compare the two.

You seem to be the same dimensions as my partner who sleeps both ways. He has an 'L' tag. It's a good idea to try one out as we did at the shop at Neutral Bay.

If you are a man and sleep on your side, select the high profile. Anyone else, probably medium profile. Low profile is more for people who sleep on their back or younger/smaller people.

Hi Beryl,
Pretty sure you would need a medium size.
Great product has improved my sleep considerably.

Most people sleep on either their side OR back - most of the time.
If you sleep mostly on your back- the LOW PROFILE is best
Sleep mostly on your side - best to select the MEDIUM PROFILE.
If you are 6ft / 180cm and taller - you will tend to be broader across the shoulder - and if that's you- then a HIGH PROFILE should suit.
Hope that helps!

Does anyone know where i may be able to purchase one of these pillows without paying the full price from the company. Is there anywhere that sells the original but at less cost. I just think $169 is a bit too much for me to pay as i am so over spending so much money on pillows trying to find a correct one that suits me. My last pillow alone cost $80 and its terrible, the one before that cost over $100. I am constantly throwing good pillows in the bin as they are not cracked up to what they say, for me anyway.

I actually didn't buy a spinaleze pillow. I was initially looking at the spinaleze pillow, and like you, decided it was far too expensive. I was actually writing a review on the Complete Sleeprrr pillow which I purchased at $95.00. This pillow has been wonderful, I am getting a great night sleep now and it can be adjusted a number of ways. It took me a little time to find the perfect fit but I am over the moon. I can see on their website that they have amazing reviews for this pillow. Hope this helps.

Spinaleze Medium Pillow

I brought a spinaleze pillow 3 days ago and since using it for the past 3 nights I have woken up with terrible pain across my shoulders in the morning which I never had with my old pillow. Is there a right way to lay on this pillow and stop the morning pain. I phoned the company and was told to just lay on it . I haven't taken the plastic cover off yet and thinking about sending it back ( $180.00 ) is just too much when it's not working for you can anyone please help me?

Sent it back!!! I kept mine thinking, one day, one day, one day, it will improve. But it never did.
Call consumer affairs, or radio 2GB or their sister stations who heavily advertise this pillow as the best thing since sliced bread. Get your money BACK!

I've used mine for a week now and every morning I wake up with back pain? Is it something your body has to get used to? It seems higher and firmer than other memory foam pillows.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is disappointed with this pillow.
I've been persevering with mine for a month now and It's like lying on bricks.
My neck, shoulders and head, ache every morning.
I tried it with the plastic on but eventually took it off, hoping this would help.
It's tempting to contact the manufacturer.
I wonder what response one would receive from the radio stations that promote this product daily.

Can these pillows be machine washed?

grl8862

No they can't be machined washed, nor put into a tumble dryer. That will cause them to break apart.

Take off the pillow case and give them a vacuum to remove dust/skin particles etc.
Run warm water over them until clean/stains rinse away, and then air dry outside on a sunny day.
You can use pet-stain removal or hydrogen peroxide to remove stubborn stains. Always test an area of the pillow before doing this though, to confirm you are satisfied with the results.
