Super handy portable stove
Purchased this unit for lightweight and portability, very easy to use and change butane cartridge, puts out great heat and is large enough for good size pan.
Saves having to carry large lpg gas bottle on trips which is super handy and has built in igniter, lasts several hours on 1 cartridge.

Excellent Quality and performance
After purchasing two Gasmate stoves both of which failed within a month. I purchased a another stove but this time I got a Spinefex from Acaconda. Priced at $20. This unit is infinitely better than the Gasmate. The quality is obviously so much better.
We found that the gas can be controlled accurately from a tiny trickly to max whereas the others wouldn't do that.
Also this unit delivers a much stronger flame and Its easy to clean.

I have a single burner gas cartridge hotplate, as above. But whenever I use it the gas freezes in the gas jet, so it goes out.
I have tried different cylinders etc, and given the physics, I cant see how this cannot happen.
What am I missing?

Butane gas freezes easily, only solution is to warm cannister slightly first if very cold by placing in coat pocket or similar,
Thanks. I will give that a try, but I am talking about "room temperature" to start with. The stove lights ok and burns well, but then slowly dies as the fuel freezes.
I am guessing that you are operation the unit on max gas level? If you do this then the canister will freeze because the heat from the flame does not have a chance to warm the canister. This unit is designed specifically for this problem Solution is simple, Open the gas canister cover and operate the stove for a few minutes. The canister will get warm and not freeze. Don"t operate the unit like this continuously just in the beginning. Another better solution is to run the unit on LOW (not max) gas level in the beginning then once the cover is hot turn the gas up.
