Terrible! Leaves water and lint all over floor. Dangerous!

published

Even though I cleaned the lint filter, brushed the vent after each cycle, and had it a good distance from the wall behind (as recommended by their service department) it would leave a puddle on the floor if the towels hadn't been spun on extra high from the washing machine, or, a fine spray of water in a wide arc in front of the machine. Usually this would be partially dried as the load got drier but then a fine layer of lint would then be sprayed over the top of the water and it would set on the floor!! Had to block the laundry off during use so that no-one would slip in it, VERY DANGEROUS! Serviceman came out, he said it was designed badly. Returned the damn thing to Aldi's, luckily I still had the receipt.

Great at first, then not so much!

I bought this dryer around 3 years ago . Was very happy with it till it started turning itself on and I would go to use it only to see itvhsd been on for ages already . I can open the door now and everything will keep spinning & won't stop. I have to remember to in plug it after use . I hazard if you ask me . Not happy .

No! No! No! Don't buy this dryer, you will be sorry.

The dryer barely worked on a good day. It took 3 hours of constant expensive running of the dryer to get clothes sort of dry - still had to air it afterwards. As soon as I bought it I had to organize for repairs cause it didn't work properly. Total 3 times in repairs in just over a year. Finally it stopped running altogether and now they say that it 's going to cost me $150 to get it fixed. I have 3 kids and lots of laundry, I need a machine I can rely on, not this rubbish. If I pay $150, who is to say that it won't break down again in a few months time?

Cheap.

published

After reading reviews on this site I thought it was a bargain and went and got one. 4 months down the track the motor is so noisy you can't hear yourself think... Also only dries clothes on the "extra dry" setting, and of course... I can't find the receipt. You'll find it at the Toowoomba Tip. Mum has had a 6kg Simpson for years, might get one of those. Also, my nanna has had a hoover for 20 years. They don't make em like that anymore.

Okay for cheap price

published

I brought this dryer 3 1/2years ago when I was sick of repairing my expensive Miele clothes dryer. At around $249 this was a bargain. On my own with 3 sons, I desperately needed a new dryer & it was all I could afford at the time . Long story short, it has worked just fine on the timer settings (the sensor stopped working after a few months ) for the past 3 1/2years. Last week, it just packed up & died . So I've replaced with a different brand from a different store (for double the price of the Sterling one) For $249, I think getting 3 1/2years out of it was ok. The lint filter did fall out heaps but it didn't bother me . It wasn't too loud . I'd recommend it so long as you weren't looking for something that was going to last you 10 years!

Very Economical

published

I recently bought this dryer as my 15 year old dryer was getting tired and noisy. I was very impressed with the warranty, the size, it is cheap to run and the price was great given most dryers are over $400 for the same size.

I would recommend this product to friends and family. Great Product at a Great Price
Reliable, Inexpensive to run, Energy Efficient

My old Simpson finally packed it in after 10yrs. This dryer is excellent especially the anticrease program. Wall mounted upside down we have had absolutely no problems with the lint filter falling out ever. I've had this dryer for over two months and the only thing that could be a negative would be if it's not in a room with a closed Door it's alittle loud.

Brilliant and a Bargain

published

I recently bought this dryer as my 12month old Simpson 4kg had decided to pack up. I am very impressed hence the 5 stars. It sits nicely on top of my front loader and takes a large capacity of wet clothes. I love the anti-crease function and the clothes are dried perfectly every time. It maybe a little noisier than the Simpson but it's in the laundry with the door shut so can barely be heard. Overall would highly recommend.
Everything. 3yr in home warranty. Price. Large capacity.
Probably the noise level but doesn't bother us.

published

I needed the brackets for wall mounting and ended up inquiring at ALDI who suggested a website where I found the parts I needed. The dryer itself has been working well and it was only for the need of more space in the laundry that the brackets were needed. I myself have had very good results with Aldi with regards to both food and their electrical products
Aldi very hellpful

Good for the money

published

Bought this after our 12 year old 3KG Simpson dryer spat the dummy. Really like the extra capacity, can dry a full load now. It's actually a bit quieter than the old one, but I'd imagine there are quieter units available if noise is a concern.

Have it wall mounted, and the lint filter stays in fine, haven't had it fall out once.

Have had no dramas with it so far over the past few weeks when I bought it and it's been getting a workout with the wet and cold weather here.

Overall pretty happy with it!
Priice, Capacity
only front vent (but I can rectify with a bit of fiddling)

Filter falls out when wall mounted and very noisy!

published

These dryers are cheap at $220 but nasty. The lint filter falls out when the dryer is wall mounted and the dryer is the noisiest I have ever heard. The 'included wall mounting kit' includes two black plastic legs about 60mm long to space the bottom of the dryer off the wall. Sadly these are a push and turn in fit which means they vibrate out easily. Makes you wonder if the Chinese ever actually test their products? Still you get what you pay for. I couldn't recommend these dryers to anyone and expect to throw it away when the 3 yr warranty expires.
Cheap
Lint filter falls out when the dryer is wall mounted as it sits in upside down and is retained by a poorly designed blue clip.

Given away as lint filter never cleaned and manual never read. A perfect dryer

Filter falls out

published

The lint filter falls out when this is wall mounted because it mounts upside down. When the dryer is hot, the problem is worse (presumably due to heat expanding the holding lugs). Shoudl be ok if left floor standing.
I have now returned it and boight a different product from a different store.

No rear vent

published

Warning: there's no rear vent.

You will have to put it in a room you don't mind being moist all the time, or on your back verandah, or something, as you can't vent the exhaust outside.

They couldn't tell me whether it had a rear vent in store (often front vented dryers also have a rear vent) told me I had to buy it and bring it back for refund if needed. I will have to do that. Bit of a hassle, should have opened it in the carpark and returned it immediately.

Specs look good otherwise, great value at $199 if it works as you'd expect.

Thanks for posting this. Most people would rather just buy a proper dryer for a hundred dollars more, but it's useful info for anyone who is very handy, and has a lot of free time, and no money.

Hi there, this is exactly what happened to mine earlier today. I discovered a piece of plastic, pin shaped only about 2mm diameter and 1.5 cms long, that is supposed to go into the safety point to let the machine know that the door is locked. I will be going bunnings first thing in the morning to buy some super glue to try and glue it back to the door.
