Perfect for overcoming witching hour
Took a bit of getting used to as Ive never owned a slow cooker before but its definitely helped out a lot with a young baby that always gets cranky at about 3pm. I put all of the ingredients in early in the morning or at lunch time and the meal is ready and perfect at dinner time. No more battling to cut up veggies or meat while also calming down a tantrum. Ive never burnt anything and its great for both savoury and sweet dishes.

Wow, so much easier than I thought and i'm only just starting :)
The cooking results are great. I've only used it twice so far and the meals are great; the 'warm' option is fantastic in avoiding last minute organising debacles. The cleaning for it is so easy, you don't even need to dunk it in the sink. Just pull out the sponge and wipe the insides clean, rinse it then wipe it dry; then do the same for the outside. The features of machine are fantastic such as the option to set the cooking temp to high (for a faster cook) or slow; I've already mentioned the ability of the warm function. This is going to be a ...Read more
great machine and i'm keen to give the roasting option a go for a chicken / turkey and other meats. Congratulations to anyone who already has one and if you don't yet, take a trip to the shops as they don't cost a fortune and will really help you out.Similar opinion? Great addition to the kitchen
Upgraded to this Slow Cooker recently, as going from a family of 3 to a family of 6!
This is the perfect size for us - we have cooked, bolognese sauce and lamb shanks, both turned out beautifully.
Bought at Target, great price for this easy to use machine, A breeze to clean as well.

I couldn't live without
It has a attractive removable bowl so can serve straight to the table. Perfect for large family meals. Love the keep warm feature. Easy to clean as bowl is dishwasher safe. Oval shape is great for whole chickens, pork shoulder etc. Clear lid makes it easy to see the progress of cooking. I use mine at least twice a week. I couldn't live without it.

Great with weekly use
We use our slow cooker weekly even in summer. Its awesome. The digital display is excellent and I particularly love that it has a timer and switches itself to warm after set time has passed. This was a big selling point for me.
I had another of the same model but after 12 months the display stopped working but we returned it to target and got a replacement with no fuss. Even with this potential problem i got the same model as its a great size and does everything we need it to. If you buy it somewhere with an easy returns policy then theres never an issue. However this can be said of everything you buy.

Perfect with every day use
A basic slow cooker ideal for a four persons household. The machine is inexpensive to run and produces good results. Lacks the 'auto cook', timer and a 'keep warm' function. Absolutely satisfied with this magnificent product. This is enough for all our familiy members. We love having it. Next time we will surely buy this one.

Does what it is supposed to do.
I bought this slow-cooker at the request of my MIL, whom lives with me, and aside from her forgetting to set the timer the first 2 times she used it, it has been perfect. Easy to use (assuming you remember to set the timer!), cooks the food perfectly and once the time is up it automatically switches to Keep Warm mode.

Easy to use but lid is too loose
I use this slow cooker weekly, and found it easy to use and clean. However, I don't like how loose the lid sits. At first I thought it was a mistake, but I went back to the shop where I bought it, and was told that is how it's supposed to be.
It cooks good and heats up very fast. But the lid to me seems like a design flaw. Next slow cooker I buy, I'll make sure the lid sits tightly.

This is the best purchase I have made in quite a long time
I have had this slow cooker now for a few months and have used it to cook a variety of different dishes; corned beef, pork chops in sauce, chicken and beef - all very successfully. I also use it on the low setting for making bone broth and this makes a perfect base broth to use for soups, sauces and gravies, or even to just drink as it is for it's health giving properties. The slow cooker is easy to use - just set and go. Very happy with it. I really wish I hadn't waited so long before buying one of these cookers.

Great product
This is a great product. I use it at least once a week. It is versatile for the variety of food it can cook and always cooks to perfection. The only thing we have found is it can take longer than some recipes recommend. All over a great product though.

Display broke around 12 months after purchase
At close to the 12 month mark the digital display has started to fail (the bars of the display are now black and unresponsive). The device otherwise works, but the display is linked to the use of all the features of the product. It's now less useful than cookers you manually turn on and off, as we can't accurately tell how long we're setting it to cook. I expected more than 12 months reliable use.

Absolutely adore this slow cooker
I got this slow cooker for Christmas 12 months ago and it has changed my cooking life. I'd never used a slow cooker before but now I consider myself an aficionado, making up my own recipes. This slow cooker is so easy to use and I've never once had a safety concern with it. I regularly will put it on in the morning before work and head off for the day, leaving the house empty and this little baby cooking away, to come home to a beautiful slow-cooked meal. I prefer to use the low-n-slow method but if required, the high heat works just as well. I would recommend this slow cooker to anyone. It has a great capacity for family meals, makes delicious food and I hope it lasts for the rest of my days!

Terrible
We bought this model to up grade from our last sunbeam as we have used sunbeam slow cookers all our life, we thought electronic was an up grade as more expensive, but not in this case, third use it was over heating and the digital screen only shows half the numbers the case around the screen has cracked apart due to the heat, we are expecting it to catch on fire when using it due to over heating, very disappointed as our last one lasted for years.

LOVE IT
Not sure of the model, i have had my SC for some time now and cannot fault it. I am a SC addict and use it almost every day. I purchased from Target and really hope that if I need to replace it I can do so with the same one. I love the aitomatic switch over to warm once cooking time is done. My hubby has even nailed it

LED Failure
Given to me as a present. I found the settings too high; i.e. overcooks in the given time for the recipes. I compensate by reducing the time. Unfortunately, after 2 years of only occasional use, the LED screen has failed; only shows bits of the numbers. Although I can work it out, others can't. My wife's carers refuse to use it as it is "faulty". Not really satisfactory.

Cracking in crock bowl
We got the slow cooker 2 years ago. It worked well then it developed crazing cracks, we didn't think much of it. We went to use it after a few months of non use. It was covered in mold on the outside and inside of the crock bowl. Can't use it! It's has a 12 month replacement guarantee. Not sure if it can be replaced.

Long term work horse
I'm a bit surprised by the reviews. I've had my slow cooker for a number of years. During winter I use it quite a bit. It has worked well all times - I mainly use it for pot roast, pulled pork, etc. The bowl does get a bit crusty and requires a bit of hand scrubbing - it didn't come clean in the dishwasher and I realised I need to scrub it by hand first. This is no longer a problem as the bowl fell and smashed. The bummer is that the replacement bowl is $50 - almost as much as a new system.

No good
The slow cooker cooks well, and the bowl fits in the dishwasher with the racks folded down. However, after only three uses, it started becoming extremely hot on the exterior (including the buttons) and then started switching itself off at the end of the cooking time (it is supposed to automatically switch to keep warm after cooking time, so food stays safe to eat). I'm taking it back for a refund and never buying it again, I've got a zero tolerance policy for faulty electronics now.

Expecting dinner to be cooked
I have just noticed that this model is now discontinued. Mmm.. It worked last year. It looks brand new but.. I prepared a meal this morning, turned it on (lights indicating all was on) and came home this afternoon to find the slow cooker cold and nothing cooked. No dinner ready!! :( The timer is working, it had ticked over and nearly finished but nothing happening inside. Very disappointed.

Smoking issue
Hi all. Just purchased my cooker from target. I Just turned it on for the first time and it started smkoing. Only a little bit of a white smoke. Is this common and does it stop. I. E I read somewhere that it is the burning of excess manufacturing oils????

Brendan K.Sunbeam
Hi Sanne,
That's correct. In the first few uses of the new unit, it will burn off some manufacturing lacquers used. This is normal for the unit to smoke and give off a smell. You should find after 4-5 uses this will not occur anymore. ... Read more

My slow cooker has turned off half way through cooking. I had to turn it back on again.
Could you advise why this has happened? It is only second time I have used it.

Hi Robyn, I'm not sure why it would turn off. It should go to Keep Warm. Just check you have the hours programmed correctly but if it does it after checking, please return to store for a replacement...
Thank You. I will return to store as I did have correct time for cooking.

absolutely fried. Try to turn it on - beeps once and then the display dies. I believe this is the same problem others have had with it. I will not be repurchasing this product and I suggest if you want to buy a slow cooker, get one with a dial only - no digital display - the design is too fraught.
