4 pie maker new model....wastes pastery and time
Purchasing my new 4x pie maker I was excited to make my own home made pies after being "recommended" this product from a good friend...I purchased my ready bought pastry(as "recommended" by sunbeam) fillings made and pie maker seasoned 1st time as per instruction and soon found out I could only get one base and 1 lid with about 40-50% wastage of pastry...when my friend could get 4 bases to 1 sheet and 5 lids on another. At this stage I was in a flap as I had fillings and pastry all over the kitchen to be used...so my easy dinner turned into ...Read more
a 3 hour nightmare. The following morning I rang sunbeam to see if there was a trick to not losing so much pastry or having to re roll by hand (I bought it as a convenience item) nope... then proceeded to ring the pastry manufacturers to see if they made a wider pastry sheets that I could purchase....nope. I rang the place of purchase to ask about a refund and because it was used once and had no faults could not return it for a refund and that I would have to ring sunbeam and get my refund under consumer dissatisfaction on the product ....on the phone again to sunbeam and was dealt with a very rude customer service rep saying I should of done better research....ie: taking a measuring tape for cutter dimensions (not shown on the box) and i'm sure the outlet of purchase would not be happy with box's being opened by each potential customer doing the same research....thought the best research/advertising would be word of mouth...that's why I purchased this product to begin with (not knowing that this 4x pie maker would be any different to my friends 4x pie maker of the same make ) so not wanting another kitchen appliance to retire to the back of my cupboards like so many other less used items... I sold it on gumtree for half the price I paid and picked up my new 4x pie maker from Kmart for $25 and I can make 4 pies (tops and bases) with 2 sheets of pastry..same.12 mth warranty and 3rd of the price......yes the sunbeam product works a treat lovely crust and easy to clean, the pies tasted great too but SUNBEAMS customer service has left a bad taste in my mouth and therefor will never recommend or purchase another product of theirs again....very disgruntled housewife

It is magic!
I love this machine. Since I bought this Pie Magic I've made a batch of pies every week with a variety of fillings, and they all get devoured by the teenagers in the house. Easy to follow instructions. Don't use sharp utensils on the surface.

Sunbeam Pie Maker (4)
I love this little beauty. I put in some frozen pies and cooked for half hour and they turned out beautifully crispy. So very easy to clean too, just wiped out with a damp cloth. I'm considering getting the large pie maker now to make family Apple pies etc! Great product!

Sunbeam Family pie maker is fantastic.
Absolutely wonderful product, makes a pie in 15 mins, that is after you have prepared the filling, but is still very quick.
It is also very easy to clean up after use with a wipe over with paper towel. Delivery was also fast and efficient as it arrived quicker than I thought and in good condition.
Ease of use, cleaning, quick to use.
I have not found anything that I do not like.

Love this pie machine
I have been using this pie machine for more than 4 years now. I am very happy with the results every time. I just need one sheet of frozen pastry shortcrust for base and puff pastry for top to produce 4 pies. The pastry cutter is included, easy to use and clean in dishwasher. The machine heats in less than 10 minutes and cooks pies in 6 minutes. The pies are perfect every times, better than pies cooked in oven.
Other reviewers said the teflon is peeling off, mine is no problem, I guess as long you don't use metal utensils to remove pies and to clean, the teflon will not peel off.
Very convenient, produces 4 beautiful pies in 15 minutes (including heating time)
Nothing wrong, it will be great if it has auto off

Not happy with the teflon
It is very easy to use and makes beautiful pies however i am very disappointed about the quality of teflon sunbeam used. The teflon is peeling off severely. I enjoy making healthy pies for my kids but stopped using it 2 months ago because of this problem. I saw Breville brand another day, it looked much better quality and same price.
Makes beautiful pies
Teflon is peeling off

Perfect pies.
OK, so I have only had my machine a few days, but I've already made 4 different varieties to use up the Christmas dinner leftovers. The pies that resulted are truly delicious! Every single pie was perfectly browned, although I only cooked for 10 minutes so I can freeze and reheat later.
I used bought shortcrust pastry as I could re-roll out scraps, which you can't do with puff pastry.
Easy to use and perfectly cooked pies.
Takes a while to heat up.

Great device
Bought it, hoping for a dream device, but fearing it would be merely a so-so thing that would end up unused and unwanted in a cupboard in the kitchen. My fears were unfounded - my hopes were realised! It's easy to use, does exactly what it claims to do (and that's a rare thing these days), and gives me *so* many more options for cooking meals, what to do with leftovers, and for lunches for work.
Fast, effective, idiot-proofed & just so damned useful!

Sunbeam pie maker
My children bought this for me and although I didn't think I would use it I love it bbbuuuttt. Have had to throw it out after only 14 month's use. The Teflon started to peel off! So disappointed! I loved that you could use up leftovers! Fruit pies were great too!
Great for leftovers and dessert pies.
Teflon peeled off!

Have had 2 units die in a year :(
Loved it but the first one I returned within a week as it died mid cooking and the replacement has just died tonight and is less than a year old. I only ever make a batch of 12 pies at a time and always wipe with a damp cloth. No happy :(
Easy to use
Killed 2 in a year :(

We love pies!
This is a great product, it does help making pies become quite easy and cooks very well. We love versatile it is with the different amount of fillings you can add, the choices and combinations are endless. The only thing I have noticed is it nearly cooks too quickly. You have to watch it, around 8-10 mins seems to work well when the book says 12-15 mins. By that time the pastry is well overcooked.
Easy of use, end result

Pastry base too large
The pies this maker produces are great, but it has one major flaw. I use frozen shortcrust pastry for the bases. However, the base cutter is so large that I can only cut one base per square of frozen pastry sheet. Considering this pie maker makes 4 pies at a time, this means I need to use four sheets of pastry for four pies. This just isn't cost effective. Apart from this, the pies taste great!
Makes crispy yummy pies
Size of pastry base means only one base can be cut per sheet of frozen pastry

You can join the shortcrust pastry offcuts together, so you are able to get 2 bases per sheet. Just overlap them slightly, and press flat with your fingers.
I couldn't agree more. Our old sunbeam pie maker was dying so we just went and bought a new one. And seeing the size of the cutter, we will make one pie base per sheet! A big difference after getting ... Read more
four pie bases from a sheet. Here's a good example of when bigger is not better. So true. After getting my replacement I was disapointed at the size increase too. You can join the pastry but more fiddly. The older, smaller design was much better

The top crust doesn't brown
The top crust didn't brown at all...just like raw dough. Used the pre-packaged defrosted pie crust and filled with pie filling (1/2 cup per instructions). The bottom crust and edges of the top crust were very brown after baking 10 minutes. However, the tops were still almost raw, translucent, with bubbling filling bursting out of the crust. Maybe it's just me...anything baked seems to come out wrong. In fact, you should use me as a tester because if I get great results, then it's fool-proof. I will try again making some savory pies but it wold be very helpful to first find out what I did wrong!
Easy to use

Makes snack time a breeze!
This little appliance is a saviour when it comes to keeping hungry kids happy after school.
Being a bit of a health nut, I prefer to use whole grain breads with a tiny spray of vegetable oil instead of pastry, and the pies turn out just as good- the high temperature means that the bread becomes crisp, just like pastry.
Takes around 2-3 minutes or so to cook, depending on how you like the crust. The edges come out crimped, tightly pressed and lovely and crunchy. Also the dishes are a little deeper than some other pie makers, which means mor...Read more
e room for your favourite fillings. Couldn't be any easier to operate, so kids enjoy the creativity that comes along with designing and making their own pies with the Sunbeam Pie Magic 2 Up. Relatively compact, I can store this appliance in the lower drawers for easy access and frequent use. Overall, this is an incredibly useful item to have in the kitchen that is very affordable. You will definately get your moneys worth out of it! Heats up fast, easy to clean non-stick surface, cheapSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Perfect until it broke after about 4 uses 6months after warranty period
It was a great product until it broke after about 4 uses. We had our pie mixture all made ready to go the other night for dinner and all the pastry cut out ready to go also. Plugged it in and nothing no lights... Broken. Back to good old fashioned baking pies in the oven. I rang sunbeam and nothing they can do as it is outside warranty period (by 6months) apparently too expensive to fix so they recommended buying another one. - Don't think so if it is going to break again!!
Easy to make and clean and quick!!
Bad warranty service. Need 2 year warranty at least!

Excellent
The pie maker is better than I expected. It is very easy to use and makes a nice crispy brown pie in 6 minutes. They then freeze well and are great for lunches. You can make fillings from scratch or use leftovers, or tinned baked beans etc. It comes with a good recipe book which has lots of good ideas. It also makes quiches and open topped pies but I haven't tried these yet. A real time saver having the 4 dish pie maker, the pastry sheets make 4 tops or bottoms per sheet so its all very economical too.
Easy to use, makes great pies

I really like this product and it gets regular use within my kitchen. It heats up quickly and holds the temperature well meaning perfect pies everytime. This product is perfect for turning leftovers into quick and easy meals and great for when guests drop by. This product is only limited by your imagination.
I was introduced to this a few months ago by a friend who has an addiction to making pies and I can happily say that I wasnt dissappointed. The deep dish makes nice sized pies and the included recipe book gives lots of inspiration for quick and cheap meals.
Making pies is addictive .......
