Superstar Gemini is punctual to return on the informed time (in my case). Have a pleasant cruise.

I would recommend you to book your plane on the next day to avoid any catastrophe. By that time you could enjoy the vibrant Singapore. Hope that this article would be helpful.

I'm sorry I really don't know. We are not into the waterslides we are pensioners. But we were very disappointed with the whole cruise. Felt more like a shuttle than a cruise, nothing like the old Gemini. No shopping excep in speciality shops which charged ridiculous prices. Hope that helps you. Maybe if you have small children you would enjoy it more than we did. I'd never go there again with this cruise line.

I'm about to get on the Superstar Gemini this Sunday for 5 nights, beginning at Singapore and travelling around Malaysian waters whilst stopping at various islands each day. This is our first cruise and I'm worried after reading everyone's negative reviews! Has anyone been on this cruise recently that has had an enjoyable experience? My travel agent said it's a great cruise for first timers but I'm not so sure now?

Run for the hills and change travel agents! it was so bad that we complained on return and were offered a free cruise on the larger and newer Virgo. We had been on this before, when it was new. It is ageing, not many things to do as many of the new cruise ships are amazing. We get the impression it is mostly for Asians who are very keen on gambling! Change cruise line and don't bother with Star Cruises. The food was ordinary too, with many guests having bad manners and hygiene. Good luck!

Hi, im not sure what to say as it was a while ago and maybe it has now been refurbished. As it is so close to the date of travel you probably can't change, and as this is your first time at least you can't compare.
Im hoping it has improved ( why would it not- there were a huge amount of complaints after we did it). our cruise was the first and was still being refurbished, so I'm sure it would be a lot better. Ive just read the above comment and would like to know when they cruised as that would give you a better idea.
My advice would be to use it as a learning cruise to get the gist of what cruising is about. Just make the most of it. remember it has probably changed, and if you are not happy make sure to let them know at the time. We were refunded our cruise, so i don't think they would keep that standed as they would be losing money.
And if its not great, it will only get better from here. Don't let it put you off cruising.

i am very sorry this is your first cruise because it may well put you off cruising and then you will miss out on all the other great cruise lines. My posted comments on Star Cruises, in particular the Gemini, have not changed......If our travel agent offered us a free trip on a Star Cruise to compensate for the Gemini we would refuse it in a heartbeat.

Hi Ryan, we sailed on the Gemini 15 years ago for our honeymoon & having just read the above reviews...speechless. Lucky you for only booking 2 nights. We did Singapore, KL, Penang, Phuket, Langkawi & Malacca. Both my husband & myself agreed that Malacca was our highlight. Took a tender boat from the Gemini & it was such an amazing spot for us. Cultural, different, friendly, happy & beautifully exotic with the British heritage influence. I actually googled Gemini reviews tonight because I want my own kids to experience Malacca, bringing me to your question & hence this reply! Unfortunately, I will search for another ship though after reading these reviews :-(. Obviously, Malacca may have changed since then but for us, far preferable to the concrete city/hustle bustle headache of KL. Depends on your interests but our sincere best wishes for your cruise, Ryan. Will look back here with great interest to read your Gemini review post cruise!

Hi Ryan, All i can say is hopefully the boat is actually renovated by now. We were mislead totally. ( have photos of the disgrace it was and video footage of angle grinders going etc whilst they were renovating. I'm sure by now it is a completel different experience than we had. So go with an open mind. it will be a good starter.

Hi Ryan, it was so bad we contemplated getting off and flying home. It was an utter disgrace. On our return home, we had photos and a very long list of unbelievable stories. We were offered another cruise with Star Cruises on the Superstar Virgo, which we had been on before and it was fine. Still 8 years on and I think it too was looking tired and the food was ordinary, should be a highlight of any cruise! Lucky you only have 2 days, if it is your first cruise and terrible, don't be deterred as cruising is wonderful, just not with this company. We felt like cargo with credit cards! Fiona from Perth
