Amazing car - never had any issues!
I own a 2009 RE4. It's such a good looking, zippy vehicle - so easy to own and cheap to service and maintain. It drives really well and is fuel efficient. I only drive on weekends (on both days) so the $50 tank lasts me over a month and a half. Extremely economical!! The build is great and also has enough power for me to do what I want.
The handling is smooth and acceleration is fast.

Great car exceptional bad service from Suzuki
Start of 2011 the car started to have a intermitted problem loosing electric power when driving. Yes no light, no break light, no windscreen wipers, and indicators no speed and petrol instrument and so on simple nothing in need of electricity is working.
The electricity is coming back after 5 – 10 seconds this is a long time of nothing when you driving!!
Suzuki Australian is not responding of warranty claims, telling me get the car into a dealer and bring a minimum of 500 with you in case we can’t find any problem.
Still waiting of the warranty department to come back to me with a solution (response to a registered letter) which Suzuki got on the 24th September 2015.

swifts great cars
2006 manual 1500 glxi version. I service wife's car. I am no mechanic but do oil, filters and plugs. All easy to do it just clocked 185,000 klms. It had a recall on leaky shocks front and a rear wheel bearing but otherwise faultless. I am going to see if I can get 300,000klms +. It runs like new so I am confident mechanics hate swifts because they don't fail. Swifts are cheap and so items like carpets & fabrics are the trade off also care required when jacking rear axle with a trolley jack can bend the axle use the provided jack only.

My 2nd Swift is just as great as the first!
Hey, I've been reading over other reviews here and I have to agree with the good ones! 3 and a half years ago I bought an '07 second hand Swift with 30,000 k's on it at time.... it was such a lucky find as it was still in showroom condition. I've now clocked up 150,000 k's in it. Have it regularly serviced and so far the only big expense has been a new battery about a year ago, oh and new tyres ofcourse, oh and yes, I did get mags put on as well - such a sexy look on the Swift! The mechanic who services it raves about what a great little beaut...Read more
y she is. I had an earlier model Swift back in the late 90's and I loved it too. When the time comes to replace this one I will probably go for another Swift. I love it so much. The only thing I notice when reversing out of angle parking, the rear pillars do slightly block my visibility. Maybe this is just in the model I have, not sure so maybe I should go test drive a new one to find out!!!!! ;))1 comment

Great small car would recommend to anyone!
We purchased a 2010 Suzuki Swift RE4 in Electric Green, good for finding in the carparks. The Swift fulfils all our requirements in a small 'everyday' run-about economical easy to park and when needed to get-up and go anything over 3000 RPM and it lights up and really gets going, use the revs, it loves them coming from the builders of motor bikes what would you expect. No warranty claims but do keep up the service as new oil is what makes them last

Cannot Fault it
I really love my little suzi! I bought her in 2007 and have not had a single problem with her to date! It is 2007 Swift S. I really think the ride is better than the cars that were around in '07 especially the Mazda 2 and the Hyundais of the time. It is a perfect first car! It rides well, good visability, easy to drive, great turning circle, and the list goes on!
a great first car, anyone can jump in and drive it
sometimes you can scrape on a big speed bumb if you are a inexpericned driver

Excellent 2 Person Car
We purchased this car new in 2007. It is a 1500cc automatic. The room in the front seats is very spacious and on the odd accaision we have a rear seat passenger there is sufficient room for short trips. This car is serviced regularly and has not missed a beat from new.
The reliability, and fuel economy.
Rear seat room is limited but remember this is a small car.

The TARDIS
Being a big guy, ok big is an understatement Im 6 foot 6 inches or 198 cm and over 130 kg. Got the picture? Great. So my wife and I were looking for a second car for me to get to and from work in. I wanted a little car for parking reasons and most importantly I wanted one I could fit myself and my kids in as they grew up. Long story about the cars I did try however I will skip to the Suzuki Swift.

king. I was initially very con centred, but that changed. I sat in the drivers car with my legs out of the car and flipped the seat all the way back thinking there is no way I was going to fit behind the wheel. I was wrong. Oh how wrong I was. I had to put the seat forward to obtain the driving position I am used to, I have driven many cars and most of them I always have the seat all the way back and down. Here I am now having to position the chair forward, new thing for me. Then when I had the drivers chair set up I went to the passenger chair behind the driver. I also was able to get in, of course not alot of extra leg room but I was in and comfortable. What the?!? We took this little car for a super test drive. it had 8km on the clock, we overtook traffic in a 100km zone effortlessly dropped back to 3rd gear and it was aptly named. Features the radio controls are on the left side of the steering wheel and I love them simple and effective I to this day miss it when I drive my wife's Kluger. There are 2 cup holders, not the best but they do work unless your like me and fill them with coins or pens ect. the centre console has a small coin receptor in the middle behind the handbrake. Radio and Cd player with MP3 playback all great. I went with a base model.2 comments

Good apart from brakes, etc
From day 1 brakes grabbed - the slightest brake application and you almost went through the window. Very hard to be smooth in braking. Went back to dealer who adjusted rear brakes to spec and made no difference. He said he had another Swift with the same issue. Also, window washer lines continually clog up and the washer works either intermittently or not at all. The roof would have the thinnest metal I have experienced in a car. Readily damaged in the lightest hail storm.
Great design and look, good economy 13.8kms/lt (7.3lt/100km) - suburban driving, good handling
Touchy brakes, washer lines clog regularly, very thin metal on roof

Love my swifty
I love my Suzuki swift. It handles great and is cheap to run. I was annoyed when a month out of warranty my car just stopped working. It was something to do with the connection to the petrol tank. It was cheap to fix though. Kinda disappointing though because they have a reputation for reliability.
Handling, economical, style
Mechanical problem one month out of warranty. First and only problem so far that was easily fixed.

2009 LE Suzuki Swift
I had a 2009 suzuki swift. (purchased new). It was extremely reliable and ran without a hitch. Great on petrol. Would cost around $45 to fill and I would get about 500km per tank. (mainly suburban driving). It look me from perth to melbourne for $360 in fuel. It is not very spacious. I wouldnt recommend it as a family car. Great to use for everyday commuting though.
Inexpensive to run, GREAT on safety!!
Very expensive for parts

Good
Overall I am very happy with my purchase of the Swift. Looks great, drives well and ticks all the boxes when I was looking for a smaller economical car. 8.5 Out of 10.
Great economical car, never more than $50 to fill and I average 500kms per tank which I'm sure I could get more out of if I drove a little more conservatively. Interior is well designed with clean lines and finished off quite well including leather steering wheel. I also love the air vent design. 2 levelled boot means more space which is great for fitting all the shopping bags i...Read more

After using my parents' cars for several years, I finally bought a gorgeous silver automatic 2008 Suzuki Swift a few months ago. I am completely in love with this car. So many features for the price - 6 speaker stereo, electronic windows, 4 doors, central locking, leather wheel. The fantastic thing about Suzuki is your 'base model' comes with everything you could want, whereas other makes would only give you 2 doors, 2 speaker stereo for the same price or even more than the Suzuki equivalent. I'm in my early 20s and my friends love this car and...Read more
its unique look. Even with 5 people, the Swift's power is unbelievable. I live in a very hilly area and it has no problems going up the steepest hills. I would recommend this car to everyone - my brother said he'd be very happy to own and drive one of these. I am an absolute Suzuki convert. From the flat, to the hills, to the freeway - this car is a winner. Distinctive look. Cheap to run. Reliable. Powerful. Great stereo system. Luxurious interior. 4 door. Excellent
I've owned mine since 2005 and done nearly 140000km. It's still on original brake pads (being a manual helps), and has never let me down apart from a CD player that can be recalcitrant at times. Tyres can wear out fairly quickly if you don't rotate them every service. Also, aggressive driving on dirt roads can cause stone chip problems towards the rear of the sills. It ticks all the right boxes as a car that can get you from A to B reliably and put a smile on your face. The manual is much gutsier than the sluggish automatic.
Great handling...Read more

I have had mine for 3 years now. I bought it brand new and have never had any trouble with it. Yes, for all the cynics out there, I am a 20 something woman and I like it cos it looks good. Who cares!! You get what you pay for, if you are expecting a Porsche style ride out of a Suzuki you are setting yourself up to be disappointed!
Cheap to run, fun to drive.
Wish it had an ipod dock.

Lovely little car - Economical and feels very solid.
Finally (after reading lots of reviews) took the plunge and scaled down from a big Aussie 6 to the Swift. A decision I didn't take lightly, I can assure you.
I'm quite tall (6'2") and the thought of squeezing into a small car for my 45min commute each morning filled me with dread. In the past 12 years I've owned 3 Falcons. Nice soft, smooth six-cylinder engines with room enough to sleep in if necessary. I found it hard to come to terms with rising fuel prices (even on LPG) and knew in the back of my mind the 'small car' syndrome would finally ...Read more

I connected my wife’s mob to the our car’s wifi, but now my phone doesn’t work. Does the system only allow one phone connection at a time? Is there some way I can connect my phone also (and also my son’s phone) so that we can choose a simple phone connection when we jump in the car?
Thanks

in check. Recently got new tyres and had rear wheel bearings replaced which given the k's was to be expected. The mechanic commented wheel bearings are usually done a lot earlier. I have had no mechanical dramas ever with this car. People keep saying the k's are getting high and I should get rid of it before major things start going wrong but I'm confident that if I look after her, she will look after me. When the time comes to change over I will definately be looking at another Swift. It is such a neat little package!
