Love the Car very very disappointed with updating the Garmin Maps
I need to be able to have updated Garmin maps... impossible. I have asked my dealer at Chullora and they tell me they cannot update the maps I am more than happy to pay to have this done... very frustrating. Surely the dealership should be able to do this for their customers.

After 10 months of driving My June made 2015 SWIFT GLX Navigator.. and 20,000klm service. It's still
I had a 2008 Suzuki Swift and it came with a space saver spare [which is VERY common these days] but no tyre repair kit which I believe can be dangerous and unusable for many people. Most small cars these days all use rack and pinion steering which results in a large turning circle, it's the same with many medium and large sized cars too as it's the preferred steering over steering boxes that were used years ago. I just love the driving experience of the Swift, and the new model is even better plus it's a slightly larger car too. Economy is jus...Read more
t amazing, with the average Litres per 100 klms or the REAL Litres per 100 klms which can be from 2.9l per 100 klms or even 4.5l per 100 klms on flat roads at 95 KPH or much worse if you have a heavy foot lol. I have never ever had any gear hunting in the auto swifts but it does depend on how you operate the accelerator. I believe a Japanese made car is better made with quality components than a car made in Malaysia or Thailand or Korea or South Africa or even USA or Europe. The Swifts are much quieter noise wise than many other cars and the road holding, etc. is excellent. I have been told that the seats are much more comfortable than many other cars, by people who own other makes of car. Reliability of the swift is legendary and the running costs are quite excellent. It could do with a few more inches of rear legroom, so you wouldn't have to remember to move the front seats forward for rear seat passengers, unless you already have short legs in the front!! Once the front seats are moved slightly forward for the rear seat passengers it's ok but a few more inches of legroom would be great. The GLX Navigator has an adjustable steering column - up and down plus in and out. It has keyless entry and push button start and stop along with cruise control, which does save you fuel. The 8 inch screen has many features GPS - true Speed - Maps -where are you going or want to go, etc. hands free phone - what music is playing, etc. and can even read out the SMS messages from your phone and naturally you can plug in your ipod for all your music or even use WiFi, etc. The Swift still has a CD player if you still buy CDs.. lol. The ride is excellent on the 16 inch alloy wheels with 4 wheel disc brakes on the GLX and sport. Although I found no problems with drums on the rear of other swifts. On All Swifts - the drivers seat can be adjusted UPWARDS for small drivers. The rear seat is a 60/40 so you can lower either side down or both if you wish to carry larger items. Now when you lift the rear door up, the boot you see [which cannot be seen thru the rear window because of the shelf which moves up and down with the door] there is another boot under the floor. It's about 100-120mms high and is great for carrying all the items you like to carry all the time lol. The spare tyre and tool kit is under another bottom floor. The current model Swift also comes with ISOFIT brackets for European baby and child seats. These car seats just clip in. An excellent invention. The Headlamps on the Swifts I have found to be EXCELLENT so no extra lamps needed even in the country. It also has a full stainless steel exhaust system. The new Swifts are higher than the earlier model, so they don't bottom out on driveways, etc. --- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ---- and regardless of what motoring writers are still saying - these are ALL made in Japan. Bugbuyer Lee March 9th 2017 Update: 40,000 klm Service and still going Great. Excellent Japanese made quality car. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED After 40,000 service at 39,000klms We have No rattles or any other problems. All tyres still have 4.5mm of tread. Japanese quality at its best in a small car. I have found that using 95 or 98 octane really makes a difference going up steep hills on highways at 100-111 kph more so when fully loaded with 4 adults and luggage. The higher octane which results in more power or torque to handle the hills with a load. I don't think the 94 or 95 with extra ethanol makes any difference. The independant fuel companies are adding extra ethanol to E10 to obtain 94 or 95 octane rating. Although the numbers look good, maybe they don't to the computer??? Around town etc E10 goes with out any dramas... and you can overtake where ever You want to. The GLX has the Hill Stop option which lets you stop at an intersection etc whilst going Uphill without using the brake. The swift is very easy to drive in traffic or on the highway. The headlights are really bright on Low or high beam plus they are the common Halogen headlamp bulbs [or Xenon] which can be bought anywhere and are easy to fit, unlike the HID bulbs which are expensive and can be difficult to fit. The air conditioner works great even on 40C degree days We have in the country. We always have our windows tinted on all cars over the years. The tinting film makes driving in the HOT 40c sun much easier plus if a tinted window is broken or shattered the tinting film can hold it together. The 40,000klm service was capped so You know when you buy the car You know the cost of servicing. RECOMMENDED SUZUKI SWIFT - JAPANESE QUALITY BUGBUYERSimilar opinion? I love my little swift. I have a 2008 Suzuki Swift. It was bought second hand as my first car. I learnt how to drive a manual in it. Being a small car, it was really great to learn in especially parking wise. Really reliable car, great on fuel. I drive 40 minutes to and from work 5 days a week and I only need to fill up the tank every 2 1/2 weeks. Overall, a fantastic car!

Fun
Owned a Jap import Sport for 2 years and ran it from 15000km up to 50,000km. Apart from a sticking windshield wiper it was 100% reliable. Averaged 36 MPG. Ride on the firm side but never unbearable. Tow bar fitted & it hauled moderate loads easily. Fun to drive. Reasonably large turning circle was minor issue in some urban circumstances but not a show stopper. In terms of specification it had everything you needed and nothing you didn't want. Later models with steering wheel mounted controls, better connectivity and cruise control possibly worth considering. Lack of spare tyre may turn off some - it runs a repair kit instead. Consider buying a space saver wheel and throwing that in the boot. I'd happily buy another.

Happy
Nice little car. I bought this because of the affordability factor. I was buying a house at the same time hence did not want to spend too much on the car. Swift was recommended by a friend of mine and we are still friends!
It is a fun to drive car, very easy on petrol and spacious enough for a small family of 4 including kids. We take it for shopping, to drive to the city, to country side as fun trip, to dandy ranges, picnics and what not. Very good visibility around and the shape of it makes it easier to understand the dimensions for easy parking. It has only been a few months so cannot comment on the service factor yet.

So much for fixed price service
Car is five star but service is nil - they did nothing and by that I mean I believe they only changed the sticker and washed the car. The dealer in Southern sydney admitted they didn't change the fuel filter (oil is brown so believe they did not change this either) and did the service again, but did not adjust the handbrake or brakes in the second service. Still waiting for the refund cheque. How can you trust them.

Impressed, Bought a Second!
Our first 2007 Swift auto ran for 70,000 before my daughter stole it. She still drives it and loves it. Apart from services I only replaced tyres and windscreen wipers. It took us comfortably from Brisbane to Darwin and to Canberra. My independent mechanic was also impressed and recommended I buy another.I looked at similar small cars but most lacked the features and finesse of the Swift. Our current Swift is a 2011 automatic model with 7 air bags, key-less entry and push button start. My wife never takes her key out of her handbag. The power b...Read more

pretty good run from them. I have now fitted more Turanza Bridgestones. The original battery is still going fine and so are all the instruments, lights and engine. I was thinking of replacing it with a new Swift but this one is going so well, I can't fault it and it is cheaper to maintain than buy a new one. RogerSimilar opinion? Great small car!
Bought a swift for the wife to go to and from work, turned out to be a great little car that's cheap to run, easy to park reliable and I often use it myself to go to work now, great on the fuel. Doesn't come with cruise control, which is a bit of a letdown, but going long trips isnt what they are designed for anyway. No regrets here, no mechanical issues either.

Amazing car - never had any issues!
I own a 2009 RE4. It's such a good looking, zippy vehicle - so easy to own and cheap to service and maintain. It drives really well and is fuel efficient. I only drive on weekends (on both days) so the $50 tank lasts me over a month and a half. Extremely economical!! The build is great and also has enough power for me to do what I want.
The handling is smooth and acceleration is fast.

Great car for price range
My husband and I were looking for a small car without the cheap and nasty, hard plastic feel of many small cars. The swift was by far the nicest for it's price bracket. The interior is comparable to more expensive cars such as the Golf and Clio.
We bought the Swift with built in GPS which is awesome (much better than the GPS in my stepmom's Subaru). I also love that I have stereo and cruise control buttons on the steering wheel.
The car handles great (as you expect from a little car) and is more powerful than I was expecting. We got the ...Read more
automatic 4 speed (when using overdrive). I would have liked a 5th gear but having said that, it runs just fine at 80-100kph. We considered the sport with CVT transmission but it was more expensive and we didn't like the dash display as much. Servicing is fairly cheap too (ours is fixed price for the first 3 years) The boot while small, is practical. It has a removable tray which gives you two different depth choices. With the tray in the boot floor is level with the seats folded down, which is handy for moving big boxes etc. All in all, a great car for the price.Similar opinion? Great car exceptional bad service from Suzuki
Start of 2011 the car started to have a intermitted problem loosing electric power when driving. Yes no light, no break light, no windscreen wipers, and indicators no speed and petrol instrument and so on simple nothing in need of electricity is working.
The electricity is coming back after 5 – 10 seconds this is a long time of nothing when you driving!!
Suzuki Australian is not responding of warranty claims, telling me get the car into a dealer and bring a minimum of 500 with you in case we can’t find any problem.
Still waiting of the warranty department to come back to me with a solution (response to a registered letter) which Suzuki got on the 24th September 2015.

Suzuki Swift GPS
I have owned 3 Suzuki Swift in the past eight years. My current car is a 2014 Swift Sport Navi (comes with in dash GPS) Car is 10/10 I love it. Having said that it came with an in dash GPS (Garmin) The navigator has problems ( i get round this by using my portable Tom Tom all good) The in dash Garmin works ok however at one year old the screen alerts you to update maps. Now this is where the nightmare starts. You ring Garmin they say ring Suzuki who in turn say its up to Garmin to get it right. Suzuki dealer at service do not want to know about...Read more
it. Anyways three people trying to download Garmin maps over six months and paying Garmin $52 for the download I had to pressure Garmin for a refund. The process is totally NOT user friendly. After all that and a further e mail to Suzuki they contacted me to inform me that they are "moving away" from the current in car GPS system. The car is a joy however the Garmin device that comes with it has convoluted problems. PatrickSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
swifts great cars
2006 manual 1500 glxi version. I service wife's car. I am no mechanic but do oil, filters and plugs. All easy to do it just clocked 185,000 klms. It had a recall on leaky shocks front and a rear wheel bearing but otherwise faultless. I am going to see if I can get 300,000klms +. It runs like new so I am confident mechanics hate swifts because they don't fail. Swifts are cheap and so items like carpets & fabrics are the trade off also care required when jacking rear axle with a trolley jack can bend the axle use the provided jack only.

Love My Swift!
This Swift was my first car & I don't think I will ever change. The Swifts come in amazing colours so it was hard to choose but black looked gorgeous. Love all the extras that you get especially at a cheap price when you purchase the car brand new. A full fuel tank usually cost around $45-50 & lasts me a week & a half to two weeks (I don't drive much). Alot of people under-estimate a Swifts speed when they try to race and over take me but let me tell you, you would be surprised because they never win haha. Even though black swifts are amazing, ...Read more

LOve My Little Swift
I purchased my car brand new. It is the best car on fuel economy and handling and so cheap to insure. We added some extras to give it a sporty look and it never fails to turn heads. The only let down is the boot space is very small and can hardly fit a stroller in it so not really recommended for mums and babies. We liked the swift so much we encouraged our daughter to buy one too and she loves her just as much.

LOVE this car!
I love this car! I have owned a few different hatchbacks and this is by far the best.
I have a manual, and with other cars I test drove before buying this one the gears felt kind of wimpy - if you know what I mean - but the gears on this felt really solid and responsive.
The fuel economy is also really good and the car itself is suprisingly roomy. I have had a car full of people before, including a couple of burly characters and we haven't been squishy. I even used it to pick up a 42" TV still in the box from the shop. The guy in the loading bay told me I wouldn't fit it in. Should have seen his face when I did!

Driver's seat
No, not just you. The car is almost the complete the package in the light class, 100kw and zippy. But, with one omission which should be noted. It needs driver lumbar adjustment. Unfrtunately, this is unlikely to happen, as Suzuki do not fit this to their cars, disappointing. Am still hoping Suzuki will make it happen, could be dreaming.

Great car the best ever
I purchased my swift in 2013 from a dealer its a 2011, automatic GL
Choose this car as they are everywhere and super cute, and when looking them up it is hard to find a bad word said about them which is always a good sign!
I previously owned a Ford Focus Zetec (WORST CAR EVER- money Pitt, always broke down which made me scared that every car would break down and I did my research and choose this over a holden cruise as they have very bad reviews and have been recalled onany occasions!
My swift has never let me down!
Cheap on fuel (40-45$ to fill in premium) lasts me over a week and about 500km
service is so good never any problems, $150-250 depending on major or minor

Followup Review - 10,000klm
This is a follow-up review of my 2013 Suzuki Swift that now has just turned over 10,000 kilometres.
I bought this car for commuting duties and for that task, it does a great job. My daily commute is approximately 35klm each way over speed zones that go from 40kph up to 90kph. The morning commute is quite early so I drive in smooth moving traffic and have very few stops but the evening commute is a typical Sydney nightmare. The morning drive takes me about 45 minutes and the evening drive can take up to 90 minutes - horrible, so I needed a car ...Read more

Hi all, a few things regarding the 2012 suzuki swift 5 door automatic hatchback. In the last year or so when starting my car it idles which is understandable however when in reverse and reversing back my car seems to stall/misfire this also happens when i put it in drive and go to take off i notice the car is delayed in acceleration any idea as to what this could be???, this also happens when ive been driving and i stop at a set of lights or exiting a shopping centre i put my foot on the excelerator however the car dosent move straight away its like it takes 5-10 seconds to process could this be a problem with the battery, spark plugs, ignition coils, fuel filter, air filter??? its really got me curious, can someone please tell me what you might think it is. Ive taken it to the mechanics and explained the misfire and stalling however they’ve come back to me with thousands of dollars worth of problems and no reason at all as to why theres a misfire, stalling, sluggishness ect.
Thanks in advance

what size socket do i need for a suzuki swift sport 1.6 2010 to remove cylinder head?

If is a M16 engine you'll need a 12 corner socket wrench.Find yourself a cheap service manual on CD as the bolts need to be removed and installed in a certain order across the length of engine to avoid damage to head.

I connected my wife’s mob to the our car’s wifi, but now my phone doesn’t work. Does the system only allow one phone connection at a time? Is there some way I can connect my phone also (and also my son’s phone) so that we can choose a simple phone connection when we jump in the car?
Thanks
