Tortech inverters : both were very good.
I've had 2 Tortech inverters, both were lighting storm damaged after about 7 years each .Not Tortech's fault. No problems with either inverter, running 24 hrs a day and running a household. Good tech. backup when I phoned Tortech (I had a loose cable connection.) I don't think they make inverters any more.
Purchased in February 2021 for A$650.00.

Not at all reliable
We are off the grid, so rely upon an inverter to run the fridge, computer, tv etc. After much research, we had to take a gamble. Purchased the tortech sine wave txf 2000 watt, basically, because it promised everything the others did, was in our price range, and it has an Australian distributor. The electrician installed the system, put it under load, and it went to fault straight away. According to the manual, the fan did not function so it cut out, requiring to be manually restarted. Sparky advised that it was probably just loose wiring, but ...Read more
I should send it back or risk voiding the warranty by trying to fix it. I spent a few hours talking with TorTech, and, after I sent them footage of their faulty product, they agreed to send us a new inverter. One of their staff explained that we ordered an old line, which they had some problems with, but they would send us out the new model at no extra cost. ( Why were they selling a problematic product?) Anyway, about five days later, we had the sparky connect the inverter, and no problems. That was May 2014. It's now September 2014, the fan fault on the new inverter has been set off once. It was when I was near to it, so i reset it, could not see any reason why it may have stopped working. Thought to myself that I would send it back if it occurred again, but it was fine thereafter. Got back home three days ago, after a month away, opened the car door, and heard the dreaded inverter alarm! Straight away, we thought about the fridge. Sure enough, hundreds of dollars of meat and other food rotten, and stinking out the house. It has cut out twice since then and we've had enough. We have decided to buy a 12 volt fridge so this doesn't occur again, and soon we will start researching again for an inverter. We are still able to use the inverter, but if you want something reliable, Steer away from this brand. It seemed on par with other brands and had an Australian distributer to contact. The warranty requires you to send the product back to Sydney, have them lokk at it, then wait for them to do something. not much good if you require power regularly. They need service agents for product faults.
