Received my order fine
I placed an order for a Pentax lens, the lens arrived fine, and on the date specified, communication from the seller was good, I would purchase again through this seller
Placed an order on feb. 4th. Here it is feb. 13th. goods haven’t arrived, they will not answer my emails, and when you try and fing them it says their message bank is full. This is the second time I have been scammed in the last month, I will have to look at reviews in future before placing an order, I am to trusting and because they have PayPal accreditation doesn’t mean their reputable.

Major troubles getting DC to send order - only responded when publicly shamed and threatened with OFT.
DC Camera have finally sent me the package, it is now in AusPosts custody. But I should not have had to publicly shame them and activate my consumer protection rights to get this done. I am therefore editing my original review as I promised (because I honour my word) I would, to reflect that they have finally done the right thing.
Never have I heard so many excuses, never had I heard so many misleading statements and repeating off script. I would not recommend using these guys until they significantly lift their game.
So I ordered an...urgent replacement lens last week after Pigs smashed my lens during a protest while I was working as a photojournalist. DC failed to send it three times, they claimed their warehouse didn't see the posting note (the warehouse also have since apologised); they claimed their online merchant system was down, they have refused to (or have not got the capacity to) send me a proper tax invoice (very illegal and only just rectified now), they said the floods prevented them from getting courier pickups (I checked with AUsPost and they denied there were pickup problems on that day to their location), they have promised to send me tracking numbers (only just sent after all this time, so at least now I have proof it is in Australia Post's custody), they never send me the original receipt or order confirmation after the order, my so-called registration is not recorded on their website, and they NEVER answer their phones. When I finally got an answer from them the woman I spoke to was at home with her dog barking in the background - more promises, none kept. And to add to this of course, they finally only called me back after I initiated a dispute with Afterpay (who to their credit sent an immediate escalation to them), and had to remind them of my rights to utilise the Office of Fair Trading to enforce my basic consumer rights. This is not exactly a small amount of money at stake.
Placed an order for a diffuser on the 16th of August 2022 with express shipping. I was advised on the 6th of September that it had been back-ordered (no refund of express shipping fee). I have since emailed all available emails and left phone messages (phone calls go directly message bank), but have received no responses. I'd love to get the item or if not, a refund but it makes it hard when no one gets back to you.
Ordered over $1000 in lenses and equipment on 09/01/20, paid $40 for express post as I needed it asap. After a few days my order still said processing, it took me another week to finally get hold of them. Over 50 calls (they don't answer) and several emails (not replied to). They said they don't have my Sigma lens but will replace it with a Pentax. I said ok and was assured it would be sent the following morning. Order still said processing...20 more calls later I'm told the Pentax lens wouldn't be in their warehouse until 30th January. I told ...them I needed it immediately and to cancel the order as I'd have to get it from somewhere else. My order still says processing and I'm yet to receive any refund. So now I'm out $2500 for a $1055 order. This company is an absolute disgrace, I've heard every excuse from their internet is down, their phones don't work because of building, no stock when their site says they have the product and the good old 'I was about to call you back'. I'm not holding my breath for a refund....avoid this store at all costs!

They flat-out lie about available stock.
Their website is a lie. Even if you pay $40 for Express post, you will not get it within a week.
I paid for a lens, waited a week. Then when I threatened to cancel, suddenly they said they would dispatch the next day, which would not have made it to me in time for when I needed it.
It's a flat out scam and I can't believe they're allowed to operate.
I ordered a nightvision monocular from this site. Unfortunately, I only read the reviews after the fact.
I received the "your order is processing" email after 3 or 4 days and began to think the worst.
I tried calling but got the messagebank, then tried the customer care email and got the response that they were out of stock and the scope would arrive at their NSW warehouse in the next few days and would ship henceforth.
I didn't hear anything for a couple days and eventually got through on the phone (after many calls) to someone who promised my...
Slow communication at first but finally spoke to them and they explained there situation
I placed an order over 20 days ago and had received no information on the order. I have rang and emailed them numerous times to follow up on the order due to leaving to go overseas, but have received nothing from them. They have finally made contact and explained there situation, they have only just taken over the website and they are working through the inventory and basically have a back log. Happy to finally have contact with them and understand there situation, so have updated this review. They were understanding once we did make contact and offered a refund and voucher. I understand they are trying to improve customer service and get ontop of the online website they purchased.

Do Not Purchase Anything From This Company
I purchased a camera over two months ago. all Looked good and the online store looked professional. Got an email saying my purchase was confirmed and that an email would be delivered shortly once its being delivered. I have never received any delivery email or any other email from them and I still haven't received my purchase.
I have called about 20 times on different days and the phone never gets picked up. I've emailed them about the same amount and still no contact.
Whatever you do, do not waste your time with this store as you will lose your money I guarantee.
Still awaiting delivery update
Ordered a camera bag on 24 Mayember, asked from estimated shipping date on 28 May, received a reply advising they would check with their warehouse manager in the morning. No follow up reply. 29 May order status changed to "processing". On 10 Dec with status still at "processing" asked to change shipping address. Received prompt response and address was changed. On 11 Dec, asked again for an update on estimated shipping date. Still no response. It seems DC Cameras and Optics are not capable of providing updates on shipping timeframes.

Poor service with no customer commitment
I purchased a Bino harness and lens Pen 2 weeks ago. I Still havent heard a word from this company. I am yet to receive my products or for that matter, a shipping confirmation, that I have paid for and will now be seeking further action.

Poor customer service, don't pay for express post as they don't know the meaning. Don't send emails as they will not reply. In this competitive market of online shopping you will find better so keep looking.
Pathetic company at best
This company is blatantly ripping its customers off and not sending them products or refunds. I would avoid them at any costs, they ignore you for weeks then when they finally reply its some made up story full of more lies and deceit. Avoid at all costs its a major scam

I am very sad as I bought an extra camera battery for my dad who is visiting me soon and the battery has still not arrived! No one answers the phone or my emails.

I used to regularly buy stuff from these guys until they ripped me off. (they used to be known as dirtcheapcamerasDotComDotAu). I bought a specialty lens for a specific paid shoot. Paid for and was promised expressed delivery. Lens did not arrive in time for shoot. They agreed to take the lens back and provide a credit. (minus the express post which i paid for, but didn't get).
They certainly took the lens back... but thats it. No refund. No credit note.
For the sake of a slightly cheaper purchase, I lost $600.

Shocking customer service
I ordered a drone and paid the $40 premium for express delivery to make sure the drone arrived before a weekend away. 4 weeks and multiple emails later I finally have a functional drone - after 2 weeks the drone arrived but the remote didn't arrive until week 4. Very difficult to get them to respond, customer service was shocking. Never dealing with them again.
ordered 21st of may and have only just received my items today the 2nd of July... worst customer service i've ever experienced in my life! i asked for a refund multiple times and was told they would call me back and they never call back. i never got shipping info even after calling twice to ask for it a man just promised me it would be here Monday i paid for express shipping and it wasn't even sent express.

The absolute worst customer service I’ve ever experienced shopping online. I purchased many weeks ago, received absolutely NO correspondence — no order confirmation, no receipt, contrary to Australian law, nothing — then when I finally called I’m sent to message bank all hours of the day, the customer care email bounced and eventually I got through to someone who told me one of the items was backordered so they held the whole shipment. Finally shipped (apparently) but I’ve yet to receive anything and the shipping list they sent me has only half the order on it. Don’t bother with these clowns, go support your local brick and mortar, I’m deeply regretting not doing same.
