Do we need to peel the oranges ?
3 answers
Hello Raj I choose to peel the orange, segment it and remove the pips. Works great.
Thanks Paul . I have seen some commercial places where they just put the whole orange without peel & juice comes really tasty . I don’t how it works
Neal B.Torus
HI Raj, We tested this and found that cutting the orange in half without peeling provided the best juicing for the least effort. We also discovered drinking juiced orange peel is an acquired taste.
Kind regards,

If you are juicing a mixture of greens (kale, rocket, etc) with apple or other fruits, do you have to change the screens/ filters, and is that easy and/or messy to do?
5 answers
Neal B.Torus
The T5500 comes with a fine screen sieve, a big hole sieve and a blank plate sieve (for whole fruit ice creams etc) depending on how much pulp you want in your juice. The fine hole sieve would normally be used for kale, rocket etc and fruit. The only reason to change to the big hole sieve would be if you wanted more fruit pulp in your juice. Normally you would leave the fine hole sieve installed for either kind of juice and it is certainly not necessary to change it. To change sieves mid-juice is just a matter of removing the lid, auger and sieve and reassembling, which would take about 30 seconds.
Thanks for the super quick response :-)
Neal has answered your question perfectly. As I had mentioned in my online review I have found this company to be excellent in answering any questions I may have.
In answering your question I have to admit we haven't juiced kale or rocket but have juiced multitudes of other fruits and vegetables and still more to try. We have found the T5500 very easy to clean.

Thank you for your interest. Carrot juice is a basic staple of the T5500. It crushes and juices carrots with ease.
Great thank you for your reply. We have ordered one :)

I haven't been able to use yet. The bigmouth connection is stuck on the base, can't turn to full lock or unlock, can't dismantle. So can't use for juicing! Should I heat the unit in hot water and then try to turn and separate the two sections?

Is the Torus Big Mouth good for juicing leafy greens ie Kale, Spinich
2 answers
I found it to be good for greens, but like always, you help the greens along by incorporating other hard veges like carrots interminently, to keep it moving.
Cutting the celery in small pieces helps preventing it from jamming at the pulp chute. You have to do that regardless whether it's a Taurus or not. I think it is because celery is so fibrous.
Hope this helps.

Upon purchase we provide video links that show how to juice celery without any problems. Customers say the tips work very well.

Is torus big mouth a cold press juicer?
2 answers
Yes it is. A great juicer with 60rpm. Very dry pulp too, so you get all juice out of produce
Using the standard filter will be more efficient in extracting most of the juice out of the produce. The extra new filter seems to be less effective and leaves more juice in the pulp, and also left overs not gone through when you remove the filter, but the juice will be less pulpy.
