My cat likes both the mince and the dry food. My question is about what the percentage of salt is in the kibble. It is listed in the ingredients but I would be interested to know exactly how much percentage wise was in there. Thank you.

Do you think these biscuits would be good for a cat who has diabetes ? Since grain free ???

Hi Tammy,
Unfortunately, our Fussy Cat Grainfree dry foods are not specifically formulated for cats that have medical conditions such as diabetes. Although these products are grainfree, they will still contain carbohydrates which may need to be taken into consideration in an animal with diabetes.
If you haven’t already, we’d recommend you speak further with your attending veterinarian as they are in the best position to advise if our Fussy Cat dry foods are suitable for your feline family member.
We hope this information helps.

How much dry food should I feed my 10mnth old cats? They weigh about 1kg each & are female domestic short hair tabby cats.

1 answer
Fussy Cat
Real Pet Food Co.Fussy Cat

Hi Tabatha,
We’d suggest feeding our new Fussy Cat Kitten Care dry food to cats under 12 months of age.
For kittens weighing between 1-3kg we suggest feeding 45g to 110g (or ½ cup to 1 cup) of dry food per day (for each cat) if this is the only food being fed. You can visit our website to see the our suggested feeding chart.
You may need to feed more or less than what we suggest as each animal will have individual requirements.
If you haven’t already, we’d suggest confirming your cats’ weights by popping them on the scales at home or at your local vet clinic, as ~1kg sound quite underweight for a 10 month old cat.
We hope this helps.

I gave this to my cats recently thinking I was doing them a favour switching to grain free but they had awful diarrhea and vomiting. I stopped using it and they still were ill until a week later. I wouldn’t use it again and don’t recommend it.

Im not sure if there are bigger bags of vip fussy grain free out there. I have always seen 500gram bags on the shelf. You may want to try online to see if you can purchase bigger bags. There are quite a few websites that sell pet food. I have a strong feeling though that bigger bags are not available in this range but its worth a try looking online.

Hi, if you haven't found them already, the 2.5kg bags are available at Coles and Woolworths. Much more convenient and a bit cheaper per kg too. I've found that some of the stores may not have them or may only have one of the three flavours, so maybe just try another store nearby if the one you usually go to doesn't stock it. Otherwise, you could have a chat to the manager as stores will often start stocking new items if they get enough requests from customers.

Hi, yes there are 2.5kg bags available at Coles and Woolworths. Not every store will stock the larger ones, and some may only have one of the three flavours in the large bag. It works out a bit cheaper as well.

Why is it that often the VIP Fussy Cat mince is off when you purchase it even though the use by date is well in advance? I spend most of my grocery shopping times looking for a supermarket that may have the cat food that is usable. Please advise as it is extremely frustrating and unfortunately my cat seems addicted to the mince and starves himself if I can't get any that is not off!!

We have had the same problem after using VIP cat mince for seven years we no longer buy the product. The problem has only arisen in the last three months.Got sick of returning said product to Coles.Up until this time was very happy with it.Sent a review about a month Ago hoping to hear back from the company but at this stage have had no reply.Very disappointed.

I am most concerned that you are experiencing these problems . Our fresh minces contain only an extremely small amount of preservative to ensure shelf life and ensure that the product still contains the essential vitamins necessary for good health. This makes the product more sensitive to storage at temperature s above 5C. unfortunately without best before dates and place of purchase I am unable to investigate more thoroughly

I am in exactly the same situation with my 16 year old cat. He refuses to eat the RC Renal food, or any other food for the last weeks. Today, I gave him some VIP Grainfree Turkey Chicken & Cranberry and he's finally eating! But, will it hurt his kidneys?

Can i feed this to my 9month old kitty?

2 answers

Cat experts would say No and that kittens should be fed Kitten varieties. But I did feed this to my 2 cats when they were about 9 mths old i.e. 3 mths to go before they were 'adults' at 12 mths. I mixed it in gradually with their 'kitten' kibble till they were eating 100% VIP grain free when they were a year old. The red kangaroo pack has smaller round pellets than the blue salmon (triangle pellets) and black chicken (square pellets), so I'd start with the red pack first. When I started mixing it in, I noticed that my kittens were picking out the larger grain free pellets first, but whether because it was due to taste or they were larger than the kitten pellets and easier to pick out, I can't.

What an interesting question, I have never been asked something like this before, however since the product is not specifically formulated for ferrets I would not recommend its use for anything other than cats,
kind regards
