Spend more money and buy Electrolux
We purchased this vacuum cleaner to replace our dead Electrolux. Has good suction. Is noisiest vacuum I’ve ever heard, head and handle are cheap looking and feeling. Has multiple levels of suction. Highest level feels like it’s ripping the carpet off the floor.
Spend the extra few hundred dollars and buy an Electrolux.
Purchased in December 2021 at The Good Guys for $199.00.

Barrel needs to be emptied quite often but it gets all the pet hair
I use EUFY Robovac on a daily basis in the house but I use this one over the weekend to clean my Labrador puppy's hair. I need to empty the barrel after each room, because that's how good it is and that's how much hair it cleans from carpets, tiles and wooden floors - after they've been vaccummed every single day. It keeps my OCD sane!
Purchased in August 2021 for $200.00.

Big disappointment
Purchased 1 month ago and I thought the suction was great and it had a good size canister but the canister has another compartment and that is my issue. It gets full and doesn't filter out to the main canister so you are forever having to pull it all apart to get that out. Does not make sense. I've pulled it out and hopefully the functionality of the machine still works. I have a golden retriever and Labrador and you can imagine the for so this machine supposedly for pets is a big disappointment. Can't get a refund now as I took the inside piece out and put it on the lounge and the retriever took it and chewed it. Wasted $200 for nothing. Useless.
Purchased in June 2021 at The Good Guys for $199.00.

Poor Quality
On opening the packaging after purchase, it was discovered that the cord retraction was very weak and left a third of the cord hanging out of the machine. Obviously no quality control during manufacture. Also the design seemed fairly lightweight, not designed for robust use. Returned for refund. Very disappointing as I have a Vax Blade cleaner which is excellent.

Powerful, easy to clean but power lead is a hassle
Compared to the VX73, this vacuum is more powerful, bigger and the pipe doesn't disconnect which is great. The VX74 is powerful enough to remove hair from the carpet. It is easy to take apart and clean. The only issue is that the power lead tends to roll back into the machine and the lead length gets smaller, so you have to keep pulling the lead out from the machine to keep it the right length.

Good motor, mostly good design, cheap construction, bad cable retractor.
I bought this product over a year ago and have cleaned the entire house many times since then. The 2400W motor is the most powerful you can plug in to household electricity and yes it really does suck hard! Someone even complained that the suction was so great that they couldn't move the head across the carpet... Well if that's your problem simply turn the suction down! There is a dial for that. I however, prefer to PULL the head across the thick carpet rather than push. Try it and you'll find the head moves just fine, even on max power.

you've got 2400W of suction the dirt, dust and hairs just fly out of the carpet and into the storage chamber. The storage chamber is large too, (4L), so you certainly won't have to empty it before you finish the job! The unit comes with a variety of cleaning heads including a rotary turbo brush and they all work well. If you want to clean your floors this unit gets the job done! Some people complained that it is noisy. Yes, it is a little more noisy than my previous vac but not enough for me to want to take it back. On carpet I didn't even notice the difference. On wood floors it was noticeably louder. But do you want to clean your floors or swan around listening to Tchaikovsky? The dirt and dust collectors are easy to disassemble to clean them. You need to do this after every clean. It doesn't take long. You will also need to replace the circular filter from time to time. My only reservations about this unit relate to the quality of the components:Purchased in March 2021 for $193.00.

Can you buy filters for them
1 answer
Yes. Bunnings have a filter pack, Vax Power 7 filter pack, I/N 4470502, $31.00.
Genuine Vax. The round canister filter is washable, the rectangular HEPA paper filter at the rear of the machine is not.

I've had my vax for just under a year and the Turbo head has stopped working. Is this a common problem?
1 answer
The Turbo head is turned by the suction of the vacuum cleaner - Cleaning the washable filter and replacing the HEPA filter got my turbo head moving again.
