This worked fine for me
used this in USA and Canada with no problems. Did not use at ATM only used to purchase goods with no problems. Accepted all restaurants and shops no problem. App was updated and email confirmations received. I did not need to use customer service at all. I know there are associated fees but I thought it was reasonable for the convenience.

Just don't use this product it's an absolute scam. They will rip you off on exchange. I exchanged $500 and was charges almost $70. Just do not use ever! worst product in history.

Had it a few months and seems great!
I haven't used it to travel or had any transaction disputes yet. I hope that it never happens and I guess this review may change as a result of the service if that occurs. I have used the card locally to gain extra points for my virgin frequent flier card. I first put money on it using BPAY but that costs money! eally don't have the time to work out how many. It seems all good to me. I did have an issue to try and verify my identity in order to remove the restrictions and after a quick call that was fixed within 48 hours. Slow and costly money transfers. No customer focus
Poor customer service. Charge to deposit money via bill pay, lengthy delays between money being deposited and then available. 10 day delay transferring money back to my normal bank account. Card did work ok in Europe and was accepted everywhere we used it. Watch out for some atms that will default withdrawals in aud. So you end up paying multiple exchange fees and-eur, eur-aud, aud-eur for a simple withdrawal.

Beyond terrible customer service. Don't bother.
So far I've been waiting 77 days after sending in my dispute resolution form for fraudulent activity on my card. I received one automated email back to acknowledge receipt. I have called and emailed countless times and no one can give me any updates on this. I was told it could take up to 45 days to be solved. Still waiting. I just want my money back and card cancelled, but they can't even do that. I wish I knew who to report them to. Such a joke.

Double exchanges beware.
In Europe so loaded Euro as preferred currency and although it says that any withdrawn funds in local currency will come out of your preferred currency it is not the case. When using ATM in Prague to withdraw KRN the conversion is done from EUR to AUD to KRN so got slugged with their terrible exchange rates twice. This calc was about - €94 more than any actual rates available at the time. STUNG so better too have cash as its just too expensive to exchange other currency...they vacuum yr account.

Do not rely on this service as your only access to funds when travelling. Customer service is non existent and they spend more energy finding ways to not help then to help. Spoken to both Australian and New Zealand customer service teams and they both suggested we use another company instead.

Very poor product
I have to agree with a lot of other reviewers when it comes to customer service - it is very poor. I ask for a new card and I never get it. I ring them up and explain the situation and they tell me they will order a new one for me - I never get it. I ring them again and go through the same process and guess what? I never get it. I ring them again and get the same answer and now I'm waiting again. Each time we do this 2 weeks pass. They have no other answers and I hate to say it, but I'm going to have to use QANTAS and they're almost as bad.

First negative review I have ever written!!
I am a positive person and really enjoy writing favourable reviews. However, my appalling experience with this card has motivated me to write my first negative review ever.... I don’t even know where to begin - the terrible exchange rates, the misleading and inconsistent advice received from customer service about fees and bonus points, the complete failure on the part of customer service to rectify errors made, the list goes on ...If I could give the card zero stars I would!

Difficult to load
I am a long time Velocity frequent flyer member. I was excited with this product. However it is difficult to begin 'using' it. I tried to reload $1000 from my bank. Realized it only allow $999. To increase limit, it required id verification. My money being hold by the VGW for 24hrs till verification, and increase limit. I upload document from mobile app, it said errors, then i try on browser. I had to upload twice on browser then it go through. I found myself still waiting. I called VGW, the operator said need 2-3 business day depend on load. So i am still waiting...

Zero customer support.
Our card stopped allowing exchanges five days ago. When I contacted the call centre the operator advised that because we had been out of Australia for an extended time the system had decided we are no longer Australian residents. He advised that he would raise a complaint with IT and I would receive an email from that department within one day. spoke to advised that “I would just have to wait my turn”. She very reluctantly put me through to her supervisor who advised that all they could do was send emails to their head office in the US and apart from that there was nothing they could do. I still have not received an email and the card still does not work. The card was eventually unblocked after a further 10 days and a number of phone calls and emails. However the provider initially refused to unblock as we supposedly did not now reside in Australia. I repeatedly asked for an explanation of what their definition of “ reside” was and where it could be found in the PDS. That was ignored as was a request for referral to their internal dispute resolution service. I have now made a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service. I would strongly recommend against this card and that anyone else who has had a similar experience of their arrogance and lack of care make a complaint also.Similar opinion? Hidden fees that rob you
I just transferred $5000 into my account. It was exchanged directly to Euro but says my available balance is $4513 AUD. I rang customer service for an explanation as to where the other $500 has gone and they told me that if I was to convert back to AUD I would lose that amount of money...for what?! The exchange fee is 2.5% on their website so they've obviously got plenty of sneaky hidden costs, scumbags. Won't be using it again.

Terrible exchange rates!
You generally loose more then 10% just loading a different currency. Loaded my wife's card with Aus $ 1500. Six weeks later it returned $1349.22. the card was never used. Lost heaps more on my card.
Total rip off. should have read the reviews first. Just use your credit card.

Would not recommend
The only positive is the wait time when calling to sort out issues, calls were answered very quickly. As for the card nothing but issues, would not recommend, closing account.

Seems to be a scam.
I wish I had read these reviews before signing up. I loaded $5000AUD yesterday in Euros, already had $100 AUD in the wallet & now having used non of the funds I have $4,613.08 AUD total in the account for an immediate loss of $486.92 AUD. That is robbery & a scam in my mind. Also could not get past the "all our customer service operators are busy please hold the line". Disgraceful service & shows an absolute lack of customer respect or support.

Having just loaded my card the funds transferred into CAD despite my preferred loading option Being EURO. After a lengthy wait and ultimately pointless conversation, support could offer no solution. They could not reverse the transaction and it cost me $240AUS. DO NOT USE THIS CARD!

Rubbish
Complete con takes at least 24 hrs to transfer money quicker to use ofx like Transferwise. They take your funds immediately and it can take at least 2 days before you see them again.

Global Wallet - Apple users beware
I've been trying to redeem my funds from my global wallet for the past 24 hours. After endless loops following instructions on the website, and email contacts with online support who couldn't grasp the problem, finally in frustration, I rang call support centre and got on to this great customer service officer who after joining me to go through their online funds redemption process discovered for herself that it didn't work. nstructions simply don't work. On discovering this I was able to go into Chrome and complete the transaction quickly. Given that Apple is ubiquitous I can't get over the incredible incompetence or duplicity of Global Wallet communications in not multiply broadcasting warnings to customers of the site's incompatibility with Apple - As it is I'm going to close down my account and put it down to just another bad customer experience with Virgin. I would give up. Honestly, it is more trouble than its worth. I did it because my partner went to the UK, we could also earn extra points, but all it did was cause hassles. Then they blocked the card for no reason, leaving my partner unable to use the card. By all means, keep trying, but I would give up now.
