Can’t use voucher online
Very frustrating not being able to book online with gift vouchers! And no contact number to call. I have submitted an online enquiry several times with no responses.

Gift Cards - terrible, tell your friends not to buy them!
Hi,
I have been trying to redeem my tickets online, same as the previous people " IT DOESNT ACCEPT " and keeps telling me to go back and click gift voucher section, when you try to find a phone no to call - its not available, talk about not wanting to be contacted, bloody Joke.. I will tell all my friends and family not to waste their time and go to Hoyts for their gift vouchers instead!!!
Not very happy at all....

Website wont accept multiple giftcards for transactions
Their awful website wont except multiple of their gift cards while paying for movies and snacks, i keep getting the things as presents in various denominations but can only use one card at a time. Tried to book a movie for 2 and snacks with two 30 dollar cards, wasn't able to do the movies and the snacks because it was over 30$. The snacks are cheaper on the website when you buy them with tickets so i screen capped it on my phone and tried to get the deal at the theaters but they wouldn't honor it. Their whole website in general is badly made, its an awful process to select a film, if you're going to use archaic drop down menus at least let me chose a date, and then the time, so awfully cluttered.

Trying to book Gold Class tickets online, could not get on to appropriate page
I was extremely frustrated trying to get onto the appropriate page to book my 2 tickets for Bohemian Rhapsody, I really believe that Village deliberately make it hard to find the appropriate page to fill in the information, there is no easy way to click on the tickets on the day you want or the time. I could not find the way through the maze to actually book 2 Gold Class tickets, given to me as a present. I have never had any problem before and it is obviously a newer version on the website. So after a couple of hours trying to find the ri...Read more
ght page and also ringing a number that was supposed to be a help line, but it was a recording advising to send an email !! Just makes me think that Village does not want you to use the tickets so they can keep the money already paid !!! I gave up in the end trying to find my way through the maze and drove 1/2hour to the theatre to pick up the tickets!! I have heard of this scam before, so I will not be purchasing anymore Gold Class tickets.

Website never works and no contact number
Cannot use gift cards online or vouchers. Worst company to deal with, as they have no proper customer service but expect the same expiry.

No extension on gift cards disgusting.
There needs to be something done about this. The Cinema has received the money for the cards. The value of the dollar may decrease but in the meantime the cinema has received interest on your money.
If you had paid for anything elsewhere and didnt receive it there would be a Court Case. Why are the cinemas getting away with this??? Sometimes there are extenuating circumstances as to why the card hasnt been used. This is THEFT!!!

Gift cards
This should not be allowed, they make a fortune out of this scam, there should be NO time limit imposed on gift card sales, rang them to extend my card date which was for $50 they said NO, thanks for nothing what would it have cost them to provide access to the gift card, sitting in a gold class cinema early week when no one is there, what a joke, will never go to these cinemas again total scam, should be ashamed of themselves

Terrible Service
I am posting this to warn customers of VERY POOR customer service from VILLAGE CINEMAS. I was sent an email from Village offering a special offer of Gold Class tickets to subscribers. The tickets cost $80 however when I enquired Jam Factory but system booked on Karrigal Suburb. The email did not mention this. It is only when you go to the website and read the fine print. Anyway went to the wrong suburb and explained to mistake can we sWAP to next session or so but they said no, WHATTTTT there were just 10 people out of 100 seats and you are pus...Read more

Horrible gift cards
The gift card system is horrible ! I’ve tried to book gold glass tickets and cannot with the two gift cards at the same time ! No phone number to call, so went into a village cinemas however they could also not help because they couldn’t book for another location because the systems were not linked ! After driving for 40 mins to the location to pay it was booked out!!!!!! Not happy as I wanted to use them for gold glass and and for a birthday session! It’s pointless when I can’t even call someone to help or the store to pay over the phone.

Useless
Village are one of the only companies who refuse to extend the life of gift cards. Disgraceful customer service. Takes 2 days to hear back from them. Do not buy! Ever

Total rip off. Wish I had read other reviews on this site first
Don't be fooled into thinking Village Gift Cards make a good gift. They DONT. Unless you are prepared to use them to watch anything just to avoid letting them expire, it is not unreasonable for a year, even years to pass before there is something at the movies you want to watch and also have time to watch. My card expired after 12 months. I partially used one of two cards given to me as gifts. When I asked staff at the counter to check both cards for remaining balances, the Village staff member told me I had three years to use them. Wrong. When...Read more
went back six months later I was told one card had expired. I complained to Head Office but they did nothing. They said they put a time limit on the cards because they have to account for them. It's a number in a computer system. It could sit there for 20 years and make no difference. It's not right. I will never spend money at Village again.Similar opinion? Horrible
For a company this big, you would think they would have their gift card system sorted out. Bought two gift vouchers. One of them works, one of them doesn't. No reason... just doesn't work. Waste of time and money.

Rip off ronnies
How can they put short expiry dates on gift cards. Cash never expires. They have taken the cash and all i now have is 2 worthless pieces of paper. Someone somewhere should investigate this for the fraud that it is.

Absolutely a rip off company, including Movieworld and Wet and wild in Queensland.
We have just paid our final pennies with the Village company in Australia. After waiting hours in lines in Queensland Village themeparks last year, watching other patrons miserable, no tables and chairs to sit at Wet and wild and older people sitting in kerbside gutters waiting for family to come out of rides at Movieworld they lined up for 2.5 hrs or more. I have recently found out that Gold Class cinema fully paid for tickets x2 which were unable to be used as our bookings were declined more than once, followed by misplacing the tickets now ...Read more
out of date, they could not care less. No complimentary replacement tickets, they just kept our money for their own gain. There is a strong lack of empathy for their customers and I would not rate this company at all for integrity.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

A complete scam!
We tried to use our prepaid vouchers to book online. They simply don't work. Nowhere to call. Just email or visit "in cinema". It's surprising that the ACCC or similar hasn't done anything about this. I'll be making contact with them.

No star if possible
Goldclass hasn’t got a call centre anymore. All the older friends and relatives have become frustrated as you can only book online - no help over the phone.
So the voucher holders have been serval times to the cinema only to find out the session is already booked. Petrol, time, parking fees for NOTHING. Vouchers now about to expire.
Village you are robbers, theives and time for the ACCC to intervene!

Customer service what customer service
OMG they have no one you can call no one to talk to except via email. Once you speak to them via so called customer service on email all they do is NOT help you. What a joke I wish someone from the ACCC or somewhere could actually look into this. [name removed] is the customer service person I spoke to via email and guess what when I actually needed customer service which is stipulated in her signature on her email at the jam factory in melbourne guess what I got? I can't help you go to the website or drive 2 hrs to the cinema OMG is that really what this world has gotten to. DO NOT GO TO VILLAGE THEY ARE HOPELESS!!!!!!!

Questions & Answers
Daniella kingasked
I have 4 gold class discounts tickets and 3 normal discount tickets which has an expiry date of 30th March 2020. Will these tickets have an extension on the date?
2 answers
My prompt enquiry from Village is they have extended my expiry date from 31May20 to 31Oct20.
My tickets expired 30th March not May. Does that mean you only get 5 months extension on the date? What if things don't go back to normal until the end of the year?
Daniella kingasked
Will all tickets be extended due to corona virus?

My gold Class gift cards expire 31 March 2020.
the cinemas are closed for at least 8 weeks.
Will there be an extension applied to them?

I have the same question. My Gold Class vouchers also expire on 31.3.20
I would like an immediate answer from Village that there is at least a 6-12 month extension.
ScottyP
I just went to village cinemas.com.au/contact-us
Completed my details and let Village know I expect them to extend the expiry date by 6-12 months. Due to Covid-19, Village closed on 23.3.20 (prior to our expiry date) so I think they will have to offer us an extension.
