Unreliable. Extremely expensive. Had 2 new gearboxes and 2 new clutches. Transmission extremely unsatisfactory.
Commuting, used everyday. Have only ever had this car serviced by VW, has never been late for a service. Always something wrong with it. Extremely expensive to maintain. Only one owner.
Purchased in February 2021.

absolutely loving this car
bought my golf in Aug 17 and absolutely loving it.
it feels sporty and powerful. Interior feels very quality and comfort.
so far I have had any issue with it other than car key battery life is bit short. within a year, I have both batteries replaced for both keys.
Start is just a little bit sluggish but I guess coz of turbo engine. it is not as quite as I expect on a bit of bumpy roads but on high way it breezes thru.

Great car - not perfect but I love it.
I really like this car. It feels sporty and has heaps of features that add to the comfort levels. I particularly like the heated leather seats, the steering wheel with lots of buttons that work the audio/entertainment/information system, the reversing camera and parking assistance system, as well as the overall look of the car. It is really economical.
One thing I don't like is how hesitant it feels when entering roundabouts or when I want to quickly turn across traffic. I assume the hesitation is a consequence of a fuel efficiency measure but...Read more

Love my Golf but the keyless entry is a joke
I purchased a 2016 Golf Highline in December 2016. I went for Highline over Comfortline due to the engine difference (110kw in the Highline). The Highline drives beautifully. It handles well, is smooth and quiet but has a bit of grunt when you need it. Great turning circle but inside doesnt feel cramped. Quality of the interior is good. Highline comes with leather interior as standard but thats actually a bit impractical in Aussie summer especially if you don't keep it in the garage. I have to carry a towel to sit on without branding my rear ;-...Read more
) I love the fuel efficiancy of the car. I get about 700km to a tank, a little less if all my driving is short trips around town. My only complaint would be the "keyless entry". This is standard on the highline model - had it not been I wouldn't have paid extra for it. It works well for the boot, but as to the driver's door it only works about 30% of the time to open it (seems fine on closing/locking). Even if I have the key in my hand it doesn't work. It's not a deal breaker as you can easily open the car by pressing the button on the key but if you are looking at one of the other models where you pay extra for that feature you might want to think again. Another disappointment is that traffic alerts now seem to be a paid subscription service on this model. On the 2013 model I had for work they were just part of the GPS system. Overall my complaints are small scale and I do love the carSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Not happy with VW Golf MK7 (MY16)
Our Golf Mk7 110tsi Highline (MY16) is about 1month old and we are rather dissapointed with it. Perhaps we are the only one experiencing this issue but I thought we share it with everyone.
Week 1: Whilst driving, the car Navigation suddenly stop working. Bluetooth and CarPlay stop working as well. This followed by radio station loosing all pre-sets. In all, the infotainment system is down.
We took the car back to dealer and they advised us issue is software related. Same response from VW Customer care. They ask us to wait for software upd...Read more
ate. Basically, every time we start the car, we need to re-tune the radio stations. No navigation, or Bluetooth. We have to wait until week50, 2015 for software update. Lately, reverse camera fail to display anything on the screen. By the way, the voice function is $400 extra. The Golf is a beautiful car but terrible software. I must admit it, we love to drive this car, handles well. Bit of rattling at the mid console and start/stop need a little of getting use to it. I would still recommend this car to everyone, maybe consider the MY15 model, less software bug.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
