I have misplaced the monitor screen unit somewhere in my house. Is there a function on the camera base that I can use to locate the monitor?
1 answer
From what I know the base needs to be plugged in and you can use the talk button from the parent unit to locate the base. Thanks.

Hi, I'm wondering what the zoom on this product is like? I currently have a Vtech monitor but it's too zoomed in i can only see half my daughters bed. Shes now no longer in a crib and is able to move around the room so I'm after a monitor that can show me most of the room. Thanks.

The default view is fairly wide, I'm not too sure if you'll get a whole room if you put it up in the corner even however. The zoom function on the unit then allows you to zoom in and move around which is clear and really handy.
The standard zoom is panned back quite well, I have one on top of a tall boy at end of cot and we can see all of our baby moving around.

Can the BM3000 be hacked into? My 2.5yo was up un her room for nap time and she came downstairs saying a lady told her to wake up. As she's been telling a few whoppers lately, I dismissed it. That was until tonight I mentioned it to my husband and he said she told him the same thing. Now I am panicked.

You'll be best to ask VTech - their customer service is pretty good with responding I've found. The product specs don't mention encryption. But I think it's pretty doubtful.

Can you set it up so the sound coming from baby monitor is on all the time rather than turning off after a few seconds?

Hi there, thinking of getting another one of these units for our house. But wondering if the second unit will interfere with the first one? It won’t confuse the units? Hopefully would be paired on different channels? Please can anyone help?
Many thanks!!!!
1 answer
You can pair up to 4 cameras to the one parent unit. On the parent unit you can switch the view from one camera to another.
If you’re talking about buying a whole other unit including a parent monitor, then I wouldn’t anticipate any interference but I can’t say with certainty. A camera needs to be manually paired with a parent monitor, it doesn’t automatically pick up a signal, so based on that I would assume there should be no interference if you were to operate more than one parent unit in your house.
If you’re really worried I’d suggest contacting Vtech directly but based on what I know about them I’d think it would be fine to operate multiple parent units in the house. But this is only my opinion.
Hope this helps.

What second camera model is compatible with the BM3100? I cannot seem to find one anywhere online!

Hi Stacey,
I tried to purchase a second camera online about a month ago, however, they had to issue a refund and said they didn’t actually have any in stock as it was a discontinued line. I can’t verify if it actually is discontinued but it may be worth contacting vtech directly to see if they have secondary cameras compatible with the monitor.
All the best.
Trying to work out the same thing, it looks like it's now superseded by BM3200 which you can purchase the extra monitor for but not sure if compatible. I'll run vtech and put a post if I get an answer.

Hi. I have a vtech baby monitor and the camera keeps switching off. I have it plugged into the wall and even put batteries into the camera and it still switches off. Is there any way of fixing the problem? Or would I need to buy a new camera?
If I need a new camera, where can I purchase one in South Australia?
Thanks
1 answer
Hi Zandria,
It is definitely not supposed to be shutting off if it is plugged into the main power supply. It sounds like the product is faulty.
How long have you had the baby monitor? Has it always had this issue?
I would recommend you contact vtech customer service directly to order a replacement for the faulty camera.
If it has been faulty from day one you are by law entitled to a replacement or refund for products that do not operate as the manufacturer intends. If it is a problem that has developed over time check if it is still under warranty and organise either a repair or replacement with vtech customer service directly.
It may be a problem other consumers have had as well so it would be really good to get in touch with vtech so they are aware of the fault.
If you aren’t in the mood to stuff around with customer service I ordered mine from a seller on ebay and paid around $120 including postage.
Goodluck, hope this helps.

When using sound activated screen, and a sound has triggered the screen on - is it then possible to adjust down the 50 second delay for the screen to turn off again after silence?
50 seconds is just way too long.
1 answer
Oooh not sure. You can decrease the sensitivity from level 5 down to 1 if you need to. That just means a louder noise is needed to trigger the sound on. I’m not sure that you can change how long the sound is on, though

I have an issue with the parent unit. It didn’t switch on after charging for 2-3 days. Replaced battery and charged it over night and it lasted for few hours. thought it was issue with charger and since then replaced it. Still doesn’t charge and can’t get it to work. Not sure what to do next. Can anyone suggest what I can do or what might be the problem. Contemplating of buying new one but have already spent $50 on replacing batteries and charger. Please help...
1 answer
I recommend calling vtech, if it’s less than 2 years, you have a statutory warranty and should get a replacement sent. If they resist, tell them, will report them to consumer protection.
