Fantastic product
The Webber Q is fantastic. It looks good, heats really fast and works well. We use it several times each week as BBQ and oven and save ourselves heaps in electricity each time. Worth buying the trivet so you can use it effectively as an oven. Also the pizza stone is good.

best bbq so far
bbq comes with kart so instant furniture! this is the perfect bbq for pizza so make sure that you get the pizza stone for it, i paid $32 extra and it is amazing, cooks great sausages, haven't tried roast but i will, so easy to clean, move it around on balcony-lower frame is a little too plasticy for me but it doesn't affect anything so won't hold a grudge

Expensive but quality
Our Weber has been good to us, we only got it at Christmas time but are using it at least three nights a week. It cooks evenly and the quality of the product - even the stand that came with it - has been great. We cook a lot of veggies for salads and it's much more convenient using the BBQ outside rather than heating up the house in summer with our oven. The size of the Family is perfect for a 4-6 person family.

Missed the boat
After years of great service from our kettle Weber a move to a bushfire prone area forced us to look for a gas fired option.
A couple of Christmas's ago we treated ourselves to a Weber Q.
This was our first annoyance - we either bought the second in line or travelled 30k's to another town to get the top of the line as our local hardware was not a master dealer. Annoying but in the end we dealt locally and settled for the lower level unit.
Second issue - the unit came with 2 grill plates, not the grill/ solid plate combination we pref...Read more
erred. The solid plate was subsequently purchased at a fairly high cost and the second grill plate despatched to limbo. Third issue was the inability to control either side of the unit separately - why have a solid plate and a grill plate if they can't be controlled independently? Also clearance when the lid is down restricts the size of a roast item. You have to be good to fit an average chicken in when on the beer can rack.3 comments

Hi Ian, thanks for your review. We appreciate your opinion and have taken your feedback onboard to be passed to the team.
I'll just address a few of your points: ... Read more
A standard sized chicken roast should fit in your Family Q with a convection tray and trivet setup. The design of the hotplate and half grills is so you can cook things like eggs, onions, small bits of meat, etc without the fear of them falling down between the grill; not to cook two different meals at two different temperatures/zones - if that makes sense. You mentioned that the wind blew the lid shut; are you cooking with the lid open? Our suggested method is to cook with the lid down, to infuse the delicious flavour into your food, as well as create a convective environment, much like an oven when you're roasting/baking. We hope that we can help you learn to love your Weber Q, and if there is anything we can do, please let us know. Thanks "Weber Official".
I appreciate Australia is a tiny market for Weber. But!... Read more
1. A standard Aussie chicken cannot be cooked on a Weber Q using your Beer Can accessory. Nowhere near enough clearance. 2. Cook with the top down? I agree a better result is possible - but I will miss out on interacting with my friends as the bloody thing has to be watched.. 3. Be honest - the Weber Q is no different to a 40 gallon drum my grandfather turned into a BBQ.in 1945. Pretty disappointing.Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Ian, thanks for your response.
The Weber Poultry Infusion Roaster, while a universal accessory, was actually made to suit Premium Gas barbecues and Kettle barbecues; it wasn't really designed to fit inside the standard Q models. ... Read more
You shouldn't have to watch your barbecue while it's cooking; you place the lid down and check the food every now and again, keeping it open as little as possible during the process. You are very much entitled to your opinion Ian, we just want you to get the best from your Weber Q with these helpful tips. If you need any further information, please let us know. Love it
Not much more to say than I love it. Not too big, easy to clean, easy to use, and the taste is better than the old one.
Heats up quickly and looks good on the deck. So far no issues with it and have had it about a year. Very happy.

Love it
This is the appliance that gets used the most in our house. We cook out dinner on it at least 4 times a weeks. The metal grate is easy to clean. The rest is not but we only clean it about once a year and replace the foil tray a couple of times a year. We had an issue with the metal grate and Weber sent us a new one quickly and hassle free. Recommend.

Terrific BBQ, so versatile
The quality and service of Weber is fantastic. Firstly, there was an issue with paint crackling on my lid. After a quick email to Weber Australia had a new lid out within 4 business days. Beyond expectation. We cook steak, sausages, roast pork and veges, and roast chicken regularly. Have also done stir fry on the half hot plate, chicken skewers, pork ribs. Pizzas on pizza stone come up great too. Super economical on gas. Can’t recommend enough.

Fantastic!
We've only recently bought the Weber Family Q, and love it so far. The BBQ was easy to put together, and feels durable. It is easy to use, cooks meat well and relatively easy to clean. It is quite heavy and probably bigger than needed for a couple, but great for entertaining guests!

Love it, has absolutely made meat taste better
My husband purchased this to replace our old Beef eater BBQ. He loves it and so do I!
I never cared about BBQs, and still don't really, but I have to say that this one is great. Really easy to use, we've cooked roasts in it and does made the meat taste better.

Amazing reliable BBQ
I am very satisfied with the results of the food cooked by this Weber BBQ. The food comes out tender, juicy and is cooked very fast. The BBQ itself starts first time every time and has never let my whole family down so far. I'd recommend it to everyone wanting a BBQ.

Indispensible!
Can't remember ever using a cooking appliance so frequently after purchasing. We've been cooking dinner on our Weber around 4 nights a week and it hasn't missed a beat. The set-and-forget style of cooking suits anyone that doesn't enjoy high maintenance recipes and lots of time at the stove. Really easy to clean as well.

Great bbq
This is one of the best barbis we've ever owned. Only downfall is the inside is looking pretty worse for wear, but that is because we use it a lot. Great brand and has many features. I would highly recommend this and may even buy the baby q to use when we go away.

Only basic BBQ can be done
I believed in the Weber brand and hence bought this, however would have thought there would have been more thought into it. Yes, design wise, and ease of use, it both scores very well. This only caters to the quick and fast bbq styles, however there is no way to have different temperatures on the two sides of the grill plate, ie one high heat and one low eat. The temperature also varied quite a bit across the grill plate. Would only recommend if you are not doing any slow bbq.

- These barbecues are designed to do grilling (barbecuing), roasting and baking. They have the capacity to grill your steaks to perfection, as well as bake a cake or cook a casserole. - As you have a Family Q, you do have the ability to turn off the middle burner to create an indirect cooking zone if you wish. You do this with a Weber Convection Tray and Trivet setup. If you have any other questions, please let us know!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love this one.
I love this Weber family Q. It's small and convenient but does its job. I don't have a big backyard so needed a small one for my family and this was a perfect one. You can carry this to your family picnic even thought I have never done it but definitely would recommend it to other people.

Great bbq for all sorts of cooking
This BBQ is one of the easiest i have ever used, as well as being really easy to clean/maintain. I can cook multiple types of food in this BBQ without any hassle, as the guide booklet and temperature gauge make cooking sausages to roasts ridiculously easy. This BBQ just seems to cook things better than other BBQs would, even though i might be doing exactly the same thing.

Brilliant piece of kit
This is an outstanding BBQ in all aspects. I'm a former chef, and this has to be my favorite cooking appliance we own. It's beyond durable, typical Weber quality, incredibly solidly built, which translates to holding high temperatures for a long time. From whole turkeys to whole snapper, to steaks, to pizzas, to veg, there's nothing that it can't handle with ease. It's very easy to clean, just chuck the grills into a plastic container of water and detergent and you're good to go. The only tiny downside is that the gas tap can be tricky to reach if you place it against a wall, however, it's a pretty small downside to have to deal with.

Best BBQ ever!
Love this BBQ. Definitely worth the $$$. Best tasting meat and roasts we have ever made! We have found best to cook sausages on the hotplate though. Webber have been super helpful with warranty - we had a fat fire not too long after we bought it and they came out no issues and replaced all the parts that were damaged. Easy to use and clean, would definitely recommend to a friend!

Great BBQ for the family, breakfasts, lunch and dinners for 10 (potentially more)
Have had the family Weber for about 4 years. I was really torn when buying, didn't want to part with the $600 odd dollars, looked at Ziegler's etc to compare. In the end, i bit the bullet and have enjoyed it ever since. I can be tight, but haven't ever regretted buying the Weber - what sold me was the thought and piece of mind that it will still be serving me well when my sons become teenagers. I have since bought a baby Q for picnics and camping. Recommend a breakfast plate (or use a Teflon mat) and a full size cover.

Worth the expense
Very satisfied with our purchase. Did an excellent job roasting the turkey breast for Christmas - evenly cooked and tender. BBQ easy to use but you must allow time for it to heat up and cook everything with the top down. The Weber is easy to wipe down and folds up to easily store away when not in use.

Great BBQ
Just love our Weber - we’ve used it for cooking pizza, burgers and classic BBQ. Easy to use, cart has a great setup. Recommend buying the Weber cover to keep it out of the weather and in good condition. Assembly is a little bit tricky but not too bad. Recommended!

Hi Dawn, thanks for your question. You should have instructions that came with your Q that show what's known as the roasting setting. If you no longer have these instructions, this page here gives you everything you need to know about roasting/baking on your Q: https://www.weber.com/AU/en/blog/news/roasting-and-baking-faqs-weber-q/weber-238954.html
Thank you my roast turned out amazingly!

Bought Q3100 model and when installing noticed no temperature gauge. Extremely surprised that for the price paid there was none.
Question - Can I replace the lid for the one that does have it and pay the difference? Temperature is absolutely everything in bbq and I would have not purchased it if I knew that it came without it.
P.S. My brother has the same model for many years and it came with the thermostat included. Brilliant bbq and that is why i invested into one, but mine is without thermostat is making it obsolete.

Hi Eugene, thanks for your question. We have two model types in our Q range- Standard and Premium. Depending on where you purchased your Q from, the retailer may have one range available or both.
It is not essential to have the thermometer in the lid as all of our recipes are written to go by setting & time rather than by temperature. If you do want to know the temperature, you have the option of buying a new lid via our customer service team on 1300 301 290 OR you can look at our thermometer accessory range which includes the iGrills, Instant Read Thermometers and Snapcheck thermometers.
If you purchased your barbecue with the expectations of it being the premium model and you were given the incorrect model, then that is something that you need to discuss with the place of purchase.
Thanks Eugene.
