Good product but for the price?
Recently purchased a Weber Genesis 2 BBQ. Great BBQ, but with some faults.
The weight gauge to check how much gas is left in the bottle will not work with galvanised bottles. As galvanised bottles are heavier than the much cheaper BBQ bottles like Swap and Go. Unfortunately, there is no way to adjust the weight scales for the different types of gas bottles out there. The idea of a weight scale is only and average. No gas bottle is the same weight dry. (No gas in it). If weber wanted to lead the way and adjustment on the scales would be an idea...Read more
. Then the customer could average out their own bottles. If not remove the scales completely and do as many people have, two bottles and replace when the other is empty. Just feel a little disappointed when you spend $2000 on a BBQ to find out something doesn’t work as you intended it to. Had my last Weber 15 years and a much better build. Maybe not the fancy bells and whistles but better made. Even the writing on the dials used to be in the enamel, so it would never rub off. Weber support here in Australia tried to make suggestions, but in the end if I want to use the weight scales, I need to buy the cheap Chinese imported bottles that no longer hold 9kg only 8.5kg or similar. According to Weber here in Australia I am the first person to use galvanised bottles. If anyone has a practical work around for this other than above. Would be interested to know. Only a small problem and easy to get around, but shame so many quality products have to cut corners.
Purchased in December 2021 for $2,000.00.

Very disappointed with my New Weber BBQ
I Purchased the Weber only 3 months ago, I found the cooking slow and not suitable for cooking seared steaks or anything that needs high heat, The lid must be shut to cook most food.
Cleaning is a nightmare basically no matter what you do it is always looking unclean in the hood, cooking area and under the grills.
I don't know how the BBQ handles in the weather as mine is always under cover
I have had a Beafeater BBQ for more than 20 years, the Beafeater is far superior BBQ in comparison,The sales person explained that the Weber is far much better than the beafeater easy to clean and cooking is far much better, I feel I was mislead.
already I wont to dump this BBQ, I regret not buying another beafeater BBQ
Purchased in November 2021 for $2,500.00.

Damage in the paint and the grill
The Weber Genesis LX E-340 is incredible, easy to assemble. The customer service was great. My Weber came with damage to the lid and one of the grilles.
I was surprised when they told me that they would replace them with new ones.
Many thanks to Blue Sky Illawarra and Weber.
