Leahasked
Can I buy a full plate for my Weber Q2200
If so what is the right one
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Leah, we have half-hotplate options available online here: https://www.weber.com/AU/en/accessories/cooking/griddles/
We don't recommend a full hotplate for the grill as we believe you get better results with half grill, half hotplate. Hope that helps!

Peter S.asked
Hi there, I have the Weber q220 model and was wondering if you can recommend me some stands and covers that go with this model please. Love my Weber by the way, very happy.
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Peter, great to hear you're loving your Q! Being a 220 model, this is our older version of the Weber Q because of this we have limited options available for a cart- if you call 1300 301 290, we may be able to source you a cart that fits as you won't find it in a retail store.
As for the covers, you can have any of the following and they will fit you Q:
https://www.weber.com/AU/en/accessories/care/covers-and-carry-bags/weber-q-cover/7111.html
https://www.weber.com/AU/en/accessories/care/covers-and-carry-bags/baby-q-weber-q-portable-cart-premium-cover-full-length/7113.html - designed to fit over cart
https://www.weber.com/AU/en/accessories/care/covers-and-carry-bags/family-q-weber-q-with-patio-cart-cover-full-length/7184.html - designed to fit over cart
Harryasked
I have the big weber q and not long after purchase the ink on the smaller control knob started smudging and rubbing off. The shop I bought it from replaced it, but the same is happening to the new one and now the larger knob too. What could be causing this - I don't use or clean it with solvents or abrasive cleaners, just normal spray-on houshold kitchen cleaners

Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Harry, thanks for getting in touch.
This shouldn't be happening, and we'll gladly replace the dials for you as they should still be covered by warranty if it's within 5 years of your purchase.
Can you call us on 1300 301 290 and we'll sort this out. Thanks!
I too have had the dials lose all their markings on my two year old weber q. I have not washed with any solvent just soapy water but in the past month the markings have all but disappeared. I have a Weber Q family.
Chris Casked
My 220Q was converted to Natural gas about 5yrs ago. The gas can take a bit of time to start coming through, up to a minute sometimes. Is there an issue with flow somewhere like the hose or regulator?
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Chris, thanks for your question.
It could be a regulator issue, or that your flow of gas isn't enough to sustain the barbecue once it's lit. If you want to give us a call on 1300 301 290 and have your serial number handy, we can organise one of our technicians to come out and have a look at it under warranty.
Thanks again.
Grantasked
When fitting the 220 into the stationary cart does it rely on gravity to hold into place or does it secure in some way. Thanks for your help, Grant.
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Grant, thanks for getting in touch.
They just slot into the cart design, sitting on top; gravity keeps them in place.
While they aren't technically secured into the stands, the Q's are quite heavy and the slot for them to sit in is made to measure, so they shouldn't move unless the entire cart is knocked over.
Hope that helps!
Anthonyasked
I have the Weber Q 220 and have been gifted the Weber outdoor patio stand (6524) is my Weber compatible with this stand?
2 answers
Yes, most definitely. I also have the patio stand and it makes for a very polished looking BBQ unit
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Anthony, thanks for getting in touch.
Unfortunately, no, it won't fit. The Weber Q220 is compatible with the Rolling Cart (6548) and Stationary Cart (8460), not the Patio Cart.
If you need any further assistance, please let us know. Thanks
Rori Gasked
Hi. I have just purchased a Weber Q 2200. What is the temperature Guage on the outside of the lid really for? It seemed to me to be for nothing useful because it seems to be impossible to get the Guage temperature down to recommended cooking temperatures for steak etc etc.
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Rori, thanks for your question.
The temperature gauge on the outside of your Q lid is there to help you monitor temperature and to help identify cooking times.
That being said, it is a guide only, and most of our recipes are written according to dial settings rather than temperature- i.e. turn your burner control knob to the medium setting.
If you need any more information, please feel free to call us on 1300 301 290. Thanks!

I have a WEBER Q family size and the grease drip tray underneath has become damaged .
I want to get a replacement tray but I can’t find a store in Sydney that stock the tray .I don’t want to use the thin aluminium trays because they are too flimsy .
Can you tell me where I can get a replacement of the original tray?
Thanks Sam

Try BBQ Ranch at Moore Park Supa Centre (02) 9697 3120. They are a Weber dealer and super helpful.
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Sam, thanks for your question.
You should be using one of our disposable drip trays inside the slide-out metal drip tray holder underneath your Family Q; it shouldn't just be used on its own.
If you ring our customer service team on 1300 301 290, we can help you with any replacement parts you need, and you can get the disposable trays from most Weber Specialist Dealers and Weber Stores. Thanks Sam!
Josh Wilsonasked
Hi there. My balcony is very small and was wondering if it was easy/possible to take one of the side trays off?
4 answers
The side tray can be flipped back on the base if you don't need it.
I am not able to easily remove my side trays, however I'm sure it can be done with the right instructions and tools. I would suggest you call Weber customer service direct. They are very helpful
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Josh,
You can remove them; you just need to loosen the screws that hold the arms and then pull them out. If you need any further instructions, please let us know!

Having used my q2200 for the first time I find that I am unable to detach the supplied regulator from the approved bottle. The horizontal pressing of the off switch does not work. What next?

Sorry David but it sounds like you need to take it back where you bought it from it might be faulty!!
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi David, thanks for your question.
It does sound like you might have a faulty gas bottle - we definitely recommend taking it back to where you purchased it from to ask their assistance. If you need anything further, please call our Customer Service team on 1300 301 290.
C Lasked
Hi! Our weber q is bought in 2012 and The exterior and interior beige paint is flaking like crazy. We have use it often. Now that we have young ones I am concern about exposing them to lead / cadmium paint from the flaking interior and exterior lid paint which is quite likely to have contaminated food cooked on the grill in one way or another. Can you advise us if the beige paint on the Weber q and also other materials/ coating used on the Weber q is lead free? Will the flaking beige paint be a health risk to our family? Thank you!
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi C L, thanks for your question.
To put your mind at ease, Weber USA hasn't used Lead or Cadmium (used in the colour red) since the 1990’s.
The inside of the Q lid has never been painted although there is a small amount of overspray around the rim. Any flaking on the inside would just be a build-up of carbon from the smoke.
Your lid should not be flaking on the outside, so can you please either call our Customer Service team on 1300 301 290 or email [email protected] with a photo of the lid itself, as well as your serial number and contact details and we can take it from there. Thanks again.
Bevanasked
Can you use an oven bag in a family q?
2 answers
Sorry Bevan, I have never investigated that one, I imagine the open flame would be an issue.
Ceers
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Bevan,
We cannot say that we have tried an oven bag in our barbecues, however, we would recommend against it in theory.
By using an oven bag, you're limiting the amount of flavour that can be imparted in your meal from the famous Weber flavourizer grills, which create a flavoured smoke when oils and fats hit the heated surface and circulate around your food using the convective style of cooking that a Q provides.
There would also be a risk of the flames catching the bag. While there shouldn't be any large flames, there could be the occasional flare due to the burning of previous cook's fats and debris.
Hope that helps answer your query Bevan, thanks again.
Lizasked
Can you use the Weber Q without the lid when BBQing steak and sausages - successfully?
3 answers
You can but not successfully, it takes quite some time. They work better with the lid down and the heat at around 180/200 for best results
I have but I get a lot better results with the lid down
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Liz,
For over 60 years, Weber has engineered barbecues with remarkable cooking systems. The Weber Q is no different. The cooking system has been specifically designed to work with the lid closed. By using the barbecue with the lid closed you can achieve a unique barbecue flavour that you can't get any other way. You'll also save gas and money because your Q will be more efficient and you'll keep your barbecue area clean.
By cooking with the lid closed, you'll find that you get an amazing flavour in your food. With the lid closed, barbecue smoke created by fats and juices vaporising on the hot grill bars or hot plate will circulate and give the food a unique smokey flavour. Cooking with the lid open lets all that delicious smokey flavour escape, and you won't get that famous Weber flavour.
Hope that helps Liz, thanks again.

I have a Weber Q220. Will the Patio Cart for the new Q/2000 accommodate the Q220?

I don't know. Sorry.
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Nicko,
No, only Q2000/2200 fit on patio carts, your Q220 will need a portable cart, that you can find here: https://www.weberbbq.com.au/weber-accessories/q-portable-cart/

How do I clean the burner tube as the holes keep blocking up?
3 answers
I take the burner out of the unit ( 1 slotted bolt on left holds it in place) then rub the burner down with a new stainless steel pad and stainless steel wire brush. Cleaning the holes I use "tip Cleaners ", these and SS wire brush both available from bunnings or gas welding supplier at little cost. The tip cleaners have various sizes so one will fit holes in grill tube. It's tedious work but is worth it. You can get away with using a sewing needle but the tip cleaners clean away carbon deposits in holes a lot better, give the burner another brush over with SS brush or pad and with the gas inlet end facing down give the tube some light taps to remove any objects inside tube from cleaning. Replace burner with slotted bolt and you're set to go.
Thank you!
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi C S
Ideally, every five or six times you use the barbecue, take your grill out and brush across the burner tube with a clean dry grill brush. You can also pop either a safety pin or paperclip through each of the holes in order to dislodge anything that may be stuck.

Has anyone come up with a fix or mod for the flimsy side tables?
They flex the moment you put anything with the slightest of weight on them.
A few things have hit the ground here.
Weber?
I notice there are like screw holes moulded in the underside.
Have considered trying to screw a couple of strips of aluminium underneath the trays using these points to prevent the flex.
Do wonder though, why are they there? (The holes).
Do they ship with something attached in other countries to avoid this issue.
This is the only short coming in what's otherwise an excellent product.
Cheers.

Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hey Phil - I'm sorry about your experience with the side tables. Unfortunately I do not know of any other strengtheners that are available to stop flex. In some cases the holes have held a small metal bar that enabled you to store a tool set in there (when packed up as well), but not for what you're suggesting.
Glad to hear that you love it other than the tables - and sorry I don't have any more info or solution for you at this point.
Cheers, Dave@WeberAustralia
These look like the go for me. Stronger and looks better as well. Here's the link to the Ebay seller:

Hi! Does anybody know if we can use the new weber Q's grill plates on the old Q's models?
Cheers guys!
6 answers
If your weber is less than 5 years old and you have an issue, take a picture of the serial number info and a picture of your old grill and ask for a replacement, which will be the new type grills. Their customer service is amazing. Just email them with any questions.
Just take the old plate out & see if there are one or two supports near the centre of the plate.
Wondered the same thing a few days ago, and was told to check for that.
Mine only has one support in the centre, so I can't use the new plates.
Thanks guys!!
