Mine has the Westinghouse logo on the front right side. Perhaps it was left off as sometimes it is re-branded for another manufacturer. Or it was an error on the part of the manufacturer, so I would take this up with the dealer who sold it to you if it is really an issue for you.

Guess what!? Apparently they are going generic, so their rangehood can be used with various other branded appliances. So here we thought we are buying a whole set, and will look so nice with the logos on display. NUP.

I think that would depend on what you cook. I have the regular metal mesh ones and the are easy to clean though you have to be careful of the metal edges. Use some bicarbonate of soda and it dissolves any grease build up easily.The charcoal ones might be good if you sear salmon and such to take more of the smell out that can sometimes overwhelm the metal ones. Mine is vented to the outside but even then some of the smell can linger. Hope that helps.

I've had a look at mine but I'm afraid I can't help you with this one. Ours does stick a little at the outer end of the slide travel, but I just pull a little stronger and that works fine. Hopefully Electrolux will be of more assistance.

Without seeing the cabinetry above your island I can't say for sure, but any model of slide-out rangehood sounds a little odd for an island bench setup. Every installation I've seen of a slide-out rangehood has the cooktop against a wall, as the rangehood (usually in a cabinet designed for it) also backs onto the same wall and a right-angle piece of PVC pipe or flexible ducting vents the exhaust directly through that wall to the exterior of the house.

Generally for an island bench setup, many people go for a "canopy" style as these are mostly specifically designed for island bench installations (though usually it's a stand-alone setup without cabinetry so you sacrifice storage for size and design flair).

You can certainly do a slide-out style for an island setup but you'll need to ensure the cabinetry is appropriately done so you get a nice, clean look. Again without seeing what you're doing I can't give a definitive recommendation but I hope this is of some help.

Hopefully Maria from Electrolux can help you here but I'll throw in my two cents as well.

Like ovens and cooktops, rangehoods generally come in fairly standard widths (600mm and 900mm are the most common, but you may also find other sizes on the odd occassion). Slide-out rangehoods are commonly 600mm but make sure you grab a tape measure and measure the width, height and depth of your unit (twice).

Whilst cabinet sizes are pretty standard, a few extra millimetres here or there can be the difference between a nice fit and ugly gaps, or the unit not fitting at all. Also bear in mind the exhaust outlet/ducting as this can vary from unit to unit.

I installed ours (excluding installing a new powerpoint) as I am handy around the house but if you're unsure it's best to get a (good) tradesperson. Our Westinghouse is still going strong so still two thumbs up from me.
