Is it instantaneous to online revert the balance on my GCCard from $sg to $AUD
2 answers
Yes. Transferring money onto the card and changing currency is instantaneous.
The only delays appear to be getting your remaining balance back off the card and into your other accounts when you don’t need it anymore.
Why is there delay in transferring the remaining balance back OFF the GCC but not when transferring money ONTO the card

I spoke to Westpac a week ago - reading comments it looks like 10 days which I find it hard to accept- i keep you posted. They did agree to refund international transfer fees which was great. - that has gone through and was a couple of hundred dollars.
Mine took 13 days. They told me 10 business days. My son had a CBA Travel Card and transfer back was immediate
asap soon as you put it

HOW DO YOU REDEEM YOUR MONEY FROM THE CARD WHEN YOU RETURN. IT IS IN UD DOLLARS. WANT TO CONVERT IT TO AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS. IT IS A WESTPAC CARD.
THANKS MRS.A. HIGGINSON Email: [email protected]

Just move all your money on the card into aud via the app.
Then use it as a normal debit card. I used up my left over balance at woolies as a partial payment of my groceries.

Hey I am travelling to the USA and Canada do you think the Westpac Global Currency Card is the right one for me? Because I bank with Westpac.
2 answers
Hey,
If westpac have sister banks in USA/Canada that you can use for atm purpose then yes.
I would recommend checking westpac website and finding out which banks they have affiliation with and whether those banks / atm's are available where you are going.
Just make sure that if you do use this card then install its app on your mobile in Australia. Then you have ease of mind when you go to USA/ Canada and all you need is wifi.
Plus its VISA so it would accepted everywhere.
Hope that helps.
Cheers
Thank you I appreciate it.

Hello there, do you have to have a westpac account to apply for a travelers cards??? I'm already with Commonweath bank and I'm surprised with the bad reviews they have with there traveling card system.
Help!

Hey,
No you dont have to be a westpac customer to get the travel card. If you want you can even order it online to save $10 fee.
Although if you decide to get this card then make sure that you load as much money as possible in first attempt. You don't have to have the entire amount converted. You can have half in euros for example and other half in AUD. So when you are running low you can just convert the AUD to euros as you go. That way at the end of the trip if you don't use all the money then at least you haven't lost money due to conversion. You can convert money the go using mobile app or online. You don't get charged transaction fee just currency conversion which is based on conversion rate for the day.
Any amount of money you load onto the card after the first load incurs 3% transaction fee.
The answer is a lot more than you asked.
Hope you find it helpful.
Cheers
