Good camera for price paid, just need a good MicroSD.
Got it from eBay for AUD$54. Easy to use and the water proof case works well in the ocean but the fittings won’t last long without taking good care of them. Video quality is just average and be sure to use a high megabyte per second (45+) MicroSDHC card. I could not get the recommended software to work on my phone so I just download footage using a card reader. Video format is MP4.

Generic action cameras - beware the minefield!
Purchased for $85 plus dollars off an eBay seller with an Aussie address but sourcing from a third party overseas. Came with generic GoPro compatible waterproof case, numerous fittings, spare battery and a generic 32G class 10 micro SD card. Quality of hardware good but initially had issues with video cutting out at random. Supplier provided new firmware which i loaded and problem resolved. 4K x 30fps and 1080P x 60fps, 170 degree lens, 16MP still specs all confirmed. motion etc handy. Image quality sharp although colours very bright. I am still playing with exposure settings. Wifi and smartphone app works well in limited range. Waterproof case did not leak in shallow underwater filming test. This is my third generic action cam. Last $75 SJ400 copy had excellent image quality and was bulletproof until lost overboard. Recent $25 eBay SJ4000 was a scam with fake camera settings and advertised specs and specs on the box not matched in camera. Be prepared for a few dodgy operators in the lower end of the market and don't expect them to pay return postage from Australia to China which starts at about $22 to Taiwan if you are not happy.Similar opinion? How do u take the battery out of the camera compartment? Jeff

Once you get the plastic clip on cover off, they usually have a small fabric tag which you can use to pull the battery out. Otherwise try pushing it in and seeing if it springs out. Failing that try a pair of open tweezers. All the ones i have played with come out without too much trouble Jeff.
