Clumsy to use, terrible batteries.
I'm a tradesman carpenter for over 35 years. AEG was a great tool back in the 80s and so I bought a complete set of AEG 18v tools. Big mistake. Tools are clumsy to use, heavy, controls lack finesse. I've used a partner's Makita tools and they are in another class altogether and about the same price. And the 5 and 6 Amp/hr batteries have been hopeless from the start and have just gotten worse over time until they are unusable.

Absolutely waste of time and money
The drill has been replaced twice now, the chuck sticks, I cant release the drill bit, obviously after reading similar reviews there is a design fault, I will be taking it back tomorrow and asking for a full refund..
Purchased in June 2021 for A$432.00.

Worst power tools I’ve ever owned! Please don’t waste your money
My the teeth on my drill fell out Bunnings said would be coved no worries aeg said no they have zero warranty on the chucks and wouldn’t even take it off for me, the men at Bunnings couldn’t get it off and recommended buying a grinder. My battery’s also over heat and have to cool down four at least half hour when drilling hard timber. Two of my mates skins have broken as well. Myself and many other people I know have writing on there Facebook page only to have our comments deleted and blocked from comments messaging or likening any content. Complete scam!!!

Great drill, great repair service
I bought this drill from Bunnings and it is excellent. Something went wrong inside. I took it back to Bunnings and they sent it to AEG who replaced the gearbox under warranty. Great service.

Hard Working
I'm surprised at some of the bad reviews (but I am sure they are correct). I'm disappointed that AEG and Bunnings haven't handled them better. I don't know whether I'm lucky or whether the other s are unlucky.and got the late Friday models. My Compact drill and drill have had a lot of work and haven't missed a beat. That's not to say AEG doesn't make some poor products. See my review on their jigsaw which I scored a one star. AEG is obviously inconsistent which is becoming a worry (noting their parent company makes several other brands).

Unreliable
I bought this drill in a package 7 weeks ago . Yesterday it stopped after hardly any work . Today I took it back to Bunnings expecting them to replace it with a new drill. The drill was not replaced and has gone for repair leaving me without any drill. The warranty is for 6 years, which does not help when after such a short time the tool stops.
Both Bunnings and AEG have terrible service and AEG must change their tool warranty to a replacement when it is clear the tools they sell are faulty.

Unreliable Chuck/Clutch
I have to take my top of the line AEG fusion drill for a full refund as i have had it fail on three separate occasions this year within 4-6 weeks of each other. Another brushed unit also failed two times in the same year with similar issues.
It's a real shame as the overall design and features are good, the impact driver and angle grinder are excellent and had no faults at all. The 18v drill is let down by a clutch that starts slipping on downward force with little downward pressure, the trigger mechanism failed on another unit and the manual...Read more

Died in 15 mins
This was the first "good" drill I bought for a very long time, I was told that they are a really good by the sales person, if fact he told me he has never had a return with one. I found that a little hard to believe of course...but it seemed quite good and a very good price... so I bought it, I used it a couple of time here and there nothing to heavy... but the first time I put it to work it lasted about 15mins and well stopped working... dead as a dodo... I rang AEG and they told me that I have to return it to Bunnings. For me to do so was an ...Read more
hour and a half drive then I would have to pick it up... I was not to happy about that, so they offered to pick it up, so that was good, after a month and a couple of phone calls it finally came back, it had been replace, the electrics had blown... Happy to see it again!! I graped the battery to find it was almost flat, it was full before sending the drill.. so it just sat around for about a month... not happy.. I rang AEG again, they told that they will have to have it picked up for testing and the charger... not to pleased but off it went, that too took about a month... and a phone call or two.. I rang Bunnings for help as I was not happy with this product, well they were most helpful it was refunded and I bought a Roybi.. AEG were very helpful in that way 10 out of 10.. .. but I can not recommended there drill... I had it for about 3 months, and it was in the repair shop 2 months.. So I returned it and bought another Brand..Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Sturdy drill and impact driver with plenty of torque!
I recently decided to purchase a new cordless drill, the couple I have owned in the past now being a number of years old and having NiCd batteries which are all hoobajoobed! I had seriously considered rebuilding the batteries with Li-Ion cells, but with the different cordless tools I have all being different brands, it was going to cost me a fortune in purchasing new cells. Money that could be better spent on purchasing a new drill (or drill/impact driver combo).
The criteria I set for myself: brushless motor, decent capacity battery (>3Ah...Read more
), under $500. After a couple of weeks searching, watching Youtube reviews, reading other reviews online I settled on the AEG 18V 5.0Ah Compact Brushless 2 Piece Combo Kit. It met all that I was looking for and more. The tools will run all day on the 5.0Ah batteries (I'm not a tradie, but when I do use the tools, they get a good workout, especially this time of year waiting for the rain to stop!) The drill has two speeds and separate drill, drive and hammer drill modes, all are very capable. In hammer drill mode it drills quicker that a hefty Makita 240volt hammer drill I own.Similar opinion?
