I failed too keep up with my payments on afterpay & it went to a debt collection. However, I was wondering, once I’ve paid it off, will I still be eligible to reuse afterpay?

What happens with afterpay once it is all paid up?

Not quite sure what you mean. You have a set amount that you can spend. Mine is $1500. once I've paid what i owe i have the full balance to spend again. I think when you first open the account your balance is $500. It increases in time as long as all payments are made on time
its all paid up

Someone has fraudulently opened an account in my name and then defaulted . Afterpay has now frozen my account which I've put over 2000 dollars thru . How do I go about fixing it ? Every time I send them an email they send me an auto reply saying I have multiple accounts and the debt collectors are coming deal with them . I want to make a police report can I get the information out of afterpay to present to the police . Its pretty bloody destressing for me as I've always done the right thing by afterpay .

If they say it is you then you will have to request your details held with them. Check the email addresses that were used. You will have to build up a pretty substantial amount of evidence, like whether or not transactions were used in your location or across the country where you couldn't have been at the time and prove it. It will have to come down to a lot of detective work on your behalf. Guilty til proven innocent right? Good luck!!

That's never happened with me
I've had the same thing happening over the last couple of days. All my orders have been paid off (before their due date) & I still can't generate a barcode. I've contacted Afterpay & they can't provide a reason. Really frustrating!
afterpay ended up contacting me and said because I was in debt with them for so long I now cannot afterpay again and I cannot make a new account either.

Hi, my limit started at 500 and now is at 566 ive never been late always pay it back early. I have tried now to purchase my largest amout of 499 online and its declined it, theres money in my account i dont know why its declining it. Ive had afterpay for 5 weeks now do u know is it the amount or whats the reason?

Im having same issue...instore bar code says $500 but tried to purchase online for $320 but it declined.
Seems like you haven't been with them for long enough, they calculate purchases according to the value of previous purchases and your ability to pay. If you buy lower value items and then go for a bigger cost it will decline. It's better to buy lower items but more of them at the same time and then work your way up to 'earn' the credit. I've been with them for over a year and never been declined. You will get there but it won't be instant although your credit is $500. All the best.

I have just done an up date on my IPhone 7 which had left the Afterpay App unable to down load.
I then deleted the app off my cell to try and reload it but its now not letting me down load the app, it just spins.
I have turned off my cell and tried all the basic tricks.
Any ideas to why this has happened?

Is there any possible way to increase my spend limit sbove 800 if my account is linked to a debit card, could i add another debit card or does it HAVE to be a credit card, the thing i want is 987 haha
1 answer
Hey, from my experience it isnt how much you spend that limits you, after pay limits the amount of money you will have to pay back a fortnight, if your order is expensive and your fortnightly instalment is very high it will not let you process. If you have an order thats over $500 Try and pay off as much as you can on your previous orders . Thats what I have done and it let me put through another order :)

For my first transaction do I have to pay some money upfront
3 answers
The total of your transaction is divided into 4 equal payments. No additional money is charged unless you dont pay it on time
That is not the answer . Do I have to pay a quarter straight up or have I got two weeks before it's due
In some cases, Afterpay always requires the first instalment at the time of purchase, including:
- The first time you use Afterpay
- For all orders placed in the first 6 weeks after signing up with Afterpay
- For purchases with a value of more than $500
- For all Jetstar bookings
Otherwise, once you've used their services at least a couple of times and proven to them that you are financially responsible, the first payment for future purchases won't be due until the end of the first fortnight.
I hope this answers your question.
