No more Instant Coffee for me
The Expressi Multi Beverage Capsule Machine, available from all Aldi stores, is an easy-to-use machine for quickly producing a coffee, chai-latte or hot-chocolate.
There is a large range of available coffee pods in varying strengths as well as other flavoured drinks. (Perhaps you could purchase the sample pack and decide on your favourite).
Also available is a milk heater/frother. This is essential for latte or cappuccino, although it MUST be cleaned after each use.
I have compared this machine with competitor's machines, available at up to three times the price, and I can find no reason to buy any other pod-coffee machine. In less time than it takes to boil a kettle, I'm provided with my morning caffeine hit.

Cheap and Fantastic! In love with every sip.
I'm the type of person who wakes up in the morning and needs a coffee, So when I taste a good coffee I will rave about it. The Aldi machine is cheap, efficient, stylish and makes a really good home coffee. (I recommend the Valletta capsules as they have a mild flavor)
I was lucky enough to purchase the Red limited edition machine which is found usually around Christmas time.

Best on the market!
I used to own a well known brand of machine. Until I found this one. I have never looked back. The machine is a breeze to use, nothing fiddly about it and even my 10 year old nephew is able to work it! The cleaning is simple and only a few steps and takes less than 5 minutes.
The coffee is always delicious. The only down side is the lack of variety of flavored coffee pods. Caramel, mocha etc. I wish expressi would make them. Other than that, zero issues and a 10/10!

much better than instant coffee.
We tasted coffee made from a friends machine and were converted. The Aldi Expressi may not the best brand on the market but for the price it makes a great cup of coffee. We are now the owners of a replacement machine because the first one developed a fault.Aldi replaced it without question.
We enjoy a cup from it every morning and other members of the family and friends all enjoy a cup when they visit.
Aldi have a good selection of different grades of coffee tastes and we don't find the cost too expensive especially when they have them on special.
Easy to use and easy to clean. Top marks.

Great Machine -Works Well
I just got my new machine. ( I had an older Aldi one that gave up after plenty of use almost 4 years) It does what it needs to do - its easy to use & works a treat. Obviously you need to pick a coffee that suits your tastebuds but the machine itself is very good. Hope I get another few years out of this one. This Limited edition one looks great in Black and because its easy to use - makes me choose this style of coffee over instant.

3 machines in 2yrs
Great coffee, flavour & good price & nice looking machine but exploding pods & resulting damage to machine has seen me return 2 machines in 2yrs, here's hoping the 3rd one can make it!! When I returned the second machine & presented her with a new replacement one, instead of giving me a new receipt she just wrote on the old receipt that I had replaced it so I had to insist "twice " that a new machine needs a new receipt otherwise what good is a 2yr warranty if the receipt is dated wrong! They never bothered to write down a detailed description ...Read more
of the issue I had with the machine so doesn't seem likely Aldi will get proper feedback in order to improve the quality of the pods & xpressi machine, the whole experience is just frustrating to say the least!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Had expressi since day one
Our first expressi machine worked fine until the handle broke off. It looked to be cracked for some time. Our second unit is over a year old with no issues. Neither leaked water. The expressi machine has more space than competitors for taller cups. All in all, if you are a regular at aldi and can afford pods, it's great. All pod machines are a rip off... might aswell use a cheap machine.

Ok for Price
Machine is good but wish it was a little smaller as its taller than my old Nespresso and won't fit in my appliance cupboard. Coffee is a bit weaker than what I'm use to with Nespresso ( using a no 12 ) but love the Chai and Hot Chocolate. Overall great value for money.

Acceptable for the price
Just purchased our second machine more to update than anything else. Had water leaking issues on the first one, and occasionally exploding pods however this was rare. Had friends that returned leaky units and Aldi replaced them. Overall a good machine that represents value for money and sure beats instant coffee. Only disappointment is that my two favorite flavors appear to be discontinued (India & New Guinea). This also happened sometime ago when other flavors were discontinued. Poor form when supermarkets get us hooked on something and then stop selling it.

issue then realised that the machine is not heating the water properly as the coffee was coldish. Looks like I'll be on the phone tomorrow to organise a new machine. Shame because I do not like the new style. We decided on the new style machine based on the information provided by the K-fee representative. So this begs initial feedback. so far. Styling is not for everyone however its a lot smaller than the pictures tend to indicate. I was concerned it was going to be bulky which is not the case. This has a down side in that the water reservoir is smaller (and lacks a handle to hold onto). Being a smaller square machine tends to make things a little awkward to handle i.e. putting in the water reservoir and the water/capsule drip tray however some practice will no doubt make this a distant distraction. A final item - the rinse cycle uses a lot more water so it could be a challenge to do more than a couple of cups (mugs for serious addicts). In summary its a very different although familiar machine, as to whether its better or not we'll see.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good, but!
Purchased my machine 9 months ago. Makes excellent coffee. I'm now finding I have water on my table, seems to now be leaking water while under pressure. Availability of cleaning kits, appears to be limited to every 6 months. I now find the handle will not stay down. Didn't keep my receipt. Now I find the only two blends of coffee I really love, India and New Guinea are no longer produced. Don't like the rest. I still thought of getting another one of these machines, but, now the coffee I like isn't available, I'll be looking t the Woolies one, which online says it's quite acceptable to refill the pods. These pod machines do generate a lot of waste, which I'm not happy about.

quality
Pods always dropped in the machine, and sometimes it did not make coffee, instead of exploring in the machine. It was happened after I bought it a few days later. Then I did not use. Now I used again, but everytime I leaked water on the table. It made nice coffee.

Bang for your bucks...
I bought my Expressi around 2 years ago & haven't had any issues with it at all. It is extremely easy to use & the capsules have really nice aromas (l love #12 abruzzo & my wife loves the decaf while our kids loves the hot chocs). Our family & friends love the taste of the capsules & how easy the machine is to use & clean that they'll all bought one. I MUST start my day with a nice coffee so the Expressi Has been worth its weight in gold.

Yum! But bum :(
Love the flavours and as I have my coffee weak I get 2 cups from 1 pod (cheap skate!) BUT I've had 2 machines and on both, the arm continually pops up. Have tried descaling/cleaning, have followed instructions etc. Now I just see it as an arm muscle workout :-/

Aldi coffee machine worth every cent
Great value for money, makes delisciously coffee. Plenty of variety of pods to choose. Easy to clean and operate. Save a fortune and take one in the travel mug to work instead of stopping at the cafe. Won't take long to pay the cost of the machine in what you save on store bought coffees.

Garbage quality and design
I like the coffee. I like the pods (even they are idiotically wasteful). I've had three of these machines and every single one broke within 6 months. DO NO BUY THIS BADLY DESIGNED PIECE OF CRAP. The problem is the water reservoir. There's a little attachment that the bottom of the reservoir, where it fits into the main body that allows the water to flow through. It breaks (the part in the machine that has to exert upward pressure to allow the little mechanism in the reservoir to let the water flow). It breaks consitently, across ALL the different types I've owned (2012 and 2013). Other than that fatal design flaw it works well and I was happy with it. DO NOT BUY THIS BADLY DESIGNED PIECE OF RUBBISH.

Think before you buy.
The machine works very well and we found flavours that we liked. If one could buy the pods I would give it a very good rating. There lies the problem. The Aldi stores that I go to allocate about 4 times the space to the machines as they do for the pods. This might not be such a problem if there stock control was reasonable but it is not. I have had trouble buying decafe coffee and hot chocolate light. When I ask staff they apologise but say that when new stock comes in it sells very quickly. I haven't been able to find hot chocolate light for 3 weeks and I suspect it is not being stocked at all. I requested information from Aldi but they have not seen fit to reply.
If you buy this machine you may have trouble getting you choice of pod.

Took it back
The machine itself seems ok, but I found the quality of the Aldi coffee pods to be poor, and I can't find other brands that are compatible with the machine. I needed two pods to get a half decent latte, and it still tasted only marginally better than instant. Some people have posted on the net that you can use Map (Caffitaly) pods, which did give a much better quality coffee - at least on the couple of occasions they worked. However, more often than not the Map pods jammed in the machine, and it was the devil's own job getting them out. Do not use Caffitaly style pods in an Aldi machine, no matter what you might read on the net about them being compatible. So, limited to very poor Aldi pods, I gave up and returned the machine.

Excellent Coffee at a brilliant price!
We purchased Aldi's Expressi Coffee Machine ($99) and separate milk frother ($29) a few weeks ago and are extremely happy with the product. It is so easy to use and clean and the coffee pods are very good indeed. We are still trying the various coffee/chocolate pod flavours and so far all have been excellent quality. My sister-in-law has an expensive Nespresso machine (over $400) which provides very good coffee but when I compare the $128 Expressi cost to the over $400 Nespresso cost there is no competition - Expressi any day!!

Absolutely love it but there are a few faults
Bought the Aldi machine but didn't expect the coffee it produced to be so good. We've had to replace the milk frother add-on as it stopped frothing and just spun around. After a couple of years the handle release on the coffee machine no longer works and I have to hold it down with one of my hands and then lift the handle myself - but it still works - surprisingly. Sometimes the capsules explode but that happens about 1/30 and I just make another coffee after using the clean function. Overall, it serves my need for a good coffee from an inexpensive machine.

Has not just 'done the job', but has replaced my need for Baristas virtually entirely
I like a good cup of coffee, but outside of my home the cafe style coffees were hit and miss, either 'tongue burners' or like 'stale cigarettes'. Sydney, it seemed, only really got into the proper coffee scene since the Olympics in 2000. Since then, you still have to know your barista and service provider to be sure of the quality of your coffee; they may go for a cheap brand, not clean their machines regularly, not have proper baristas, etc. Three to five dollars a cup for something you might have to throw into a bin was a steep gamble on a ...Read more
regular basis. Anyway, since 2000 the coffees are better at cafe's and restaurants, and in 2015 you still have to be streetwise with where you buy your coffee. I bought the Aldi after hearing about the Expressi and other 'pod' style coffees. I went in with average expectations and thought that my foray would be with this Expressi machine. At 69 dollars it wasn't a huge gamble and I could have returned the product if not satisfied. I bought a variety of pods to sample the offering from the Expressi brand. To my absolute surprise the consistently good quality coffee I get from these pods and this cheap machine has been a breath of fresh 'coffee breath'. The way I make my coffee with this machine is that I heat up about a third of a moderate sized ceramic cup with milk to just above luke warm temperature, and then I add the Expressi coffee to that. At times I have sprinkled cocoa or chocolate powder for an authentic flavour. Now I simply do the milk and coffee without the chocolate powder. The flavour is consistently good coffee barista quality, and I now benchmark all barista's against my Expressi pods surprisingly. The milk frother that you can buy for 20 bucks is not worth it though, my only mundane experience with this brand. I would like for the reader of this review to consider that this connoisseur drinks a variety of coffees every day,, up to 10 coffees per day, and a coffee drinking experience of about 25 years. Consider also the cost of a cup of coffee at about three to five dollars. At a rate of about two to three cups per week. The cost of the Expressi machine is about 69 dollars. With these variables entered you would pay off the machine in about 6 weeks or so if you didn't buy your coffee elsewhere, excluding the cost of the pods which I think is about 60 cents per pod. You are still ahead when you consider the cost of the pods.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Why won’t my machine turn on at all?? I’ve checked plug voltage and everything else but It doesn’t turn on

We've had ours for about years. Problem is that the lever won't stay down when the pod is in place. The lever wants to spring back so you have to lean quite hard to hold it down while making the coffee. Rang the Support number and was told they had never heard of such a ;problem.
