The Pods ... plasticy, taste average and not recyclable
This machine does what it says and continues to work but my issue is with the pods. They are terribly unsustainable as they end up in landfill, not to mention the heated plastic taste. At least Nespresso pods can be returned for recycling and aluminium is probably safer. The pods cost less than most but overall you pay for the convenience but in the long run it costs a lot of money. The buttons also are slow to respond. Other coffee machines work better and for slightly higher cost are much more environmentally responsible than this model.

Does the job and feels sturdy
A friend of ours purchased the Nespressi and we weren't convinced about an expensive machine. I should mention, we don't drink coffee so use it for hot chocolate, chai and their other flavours. I believe with Nespressi they only sell coffee. I also use the milk frother on its own - so long as you follow the instructions the cream is smooth. Overall, I recommend this product.

The Coffee is horrible
I have a nespresso at home and bought an expressi for work thinking it would be cheaper coffee etc. Now i never look forward to my coffee because quite frankly it is only just a bit better than instant. Nespresso is miles ahead in quality so will ditch this and go get a nespresso machine. Even though the coffee is 75 cents a shot in stead of 25, i have to use twice as much expressi to get even a drinkable coffee.
Don't buy if you like good coffee!!

Great but pity about bursting capsules
The machine is terrific and the coffee choice great. I buy the bulk special to last about 12 months and save over 30%. We use Torino and Decaf (at night).
A big problem is bursting Torino capsules. I collect them and Aldi replaces my 6 or 7 with a carton without hassle. I have done this 3 times over 12 months. The incidence has suddenly escalated. Yesterday I had 3 capsule burst in a row (today it was 2) and it usually happens after I add frother milk (expletives deleted)!! I have asked our local Manager to report the problem, but it comes do...Read more

Brand New - but no warranty
We got our machine 12 months ago. With household renovations happening, it's being sitting in it's unopened box. Opened it today and bingo!, doesn't work. Rang the service hotline and told them our story. We have the receipt to prove it's just out of warranty. Basically told, bad luck. So we have six (6) unopened boxes of coffee pods and a machine that doesn't work. Not sure what to do now. Not happy though!

Makes great coffee
Easy to use, makes great coffee. Better than cafe's to be perfectly honest. Very surprised about the quality of the coffee taste and pods. The kids absolutely love all of the flavours of hot chocolate. I absolutely love the Torino pods.

Love my coffee machine!!
It is great value and easy to use, I love it!! pods aren't too pricey either. The only bad thing is how loud it can be when running but other than that it is perfect.

Three years and still amazing
Aldi all day! i have had my machine over three years now. I am on my second milk frother ($20 for first, $25 for second - and apparently better than the aerochino according to reviews). I love my coffee and still buy from a selection of cafes with amazing baristas...however! my aldi machine never failed me! it is self cleaning, the selection of pods has grown in 3 years.. the quality is great (ok, its not as good as a single barista i know, but WAY better than MAP which i tested- so loud, yucky, not self cleaning...). Ive cleaned it out thrice...Read more
with water and apple cider vinegar when it "just doesnt taste right".. and yes, it does work!... for goodness sake... for under $100 for the machine, under 40c per coffee and if an aldi is as close as a supermarket, it really is a no brainer... yes, the coffee is good! People are always pleasantly surprised!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Love the machine but can't get decaff
Bought our machine in Oct after checking out quite a few. Decided it was great value and stopping the $4.50 per day bought decaf, it would be paid for in no time. Took my coffee with me every morning and loved it. Now haven't been able to get decaf since Christmas and I don't drink anything else. So annoying. Pick up your game Aldi! Have checked with the store and talked to customer service and I can't believe no one can say when it will be back. Considering a new machine with more choice of capsules now.

Great value because it's cheap
Let's get this into context. First, the good: The machine is cheap ($80) and makes a great cup of coffee (also cheap at 37c per pod). We would use it for about 10 coffees per week. We own two machines - one for the house and another in the caravan.
Now the bad: The machines do break down and aren't easy to repair. We've had to replace one (totally stopped working), and we've had some intermittent issues with the replacement, expecting it to fail as well. You should rinse the pipes after the coffees are made to remove sediment residue. A desc...Read more
ale is also a good way to prolong the life of the machine. We have had no problems at all with the separately purchased milk frother. Usually, I'd steer people away from products with a reputation for breaking down, but not with this one because it's cheap. Think of it this way - if it fails within the 2-year warranty period you can take it back to Aldi. If it fails just a week after the warranty expires that's annoying, but dividing $80 by 1,000 coffees equates to 8 cents per cup (or 4c per cup if you get 4 years out of it). Getting nice coffees for two years at a mere 45c each (+ milk + electricity) is still great value for money. I wouldn't think this way if my coffee machine cost $500. But if the Expressi machines were more durable without an increased price, they would absolutely wreck the market for the machines costing hundreds of dollars. Those manufacturers must be hoping that Expressi doesn't fix its quality issues. So to us, we like this machine because we know we're going to get what we paid for - perhaps even more because it's great coffee at 45c/cup guaranteed for two years, and longer if we're lucky. In that context, I recommend this machine. If you don't like the idea you're buying a machine that has a shorter life than others, maybe it's not the one for you (but at least factor all this into your decision).Similar opinion? Being locked in means disappointment
The price is low, and the coffee is acceptable (not good, but acceptable). The real catch is that you are locked in to their brand of coffee, and when they run out (or in the recent case the supplier no longer has the one and only decaf they carry), then you are stuck with a useless machine for weeks or months. I had to go buy a new Kogan system today for just this reason.

Good coffee, but capsules burst
I've had my Expressi machine for about 6 months now after my Nespresso machine died after about 4 years. The coffee is good and the selection of coffee is good.
The capsules have a habit of bursting and filling your cup full of very strong coffee. Probably about 1 in 4 capsules burst.
Other that that, pretty good unit for the money.

Does a good job
As long as you realize the machine is not to be compared with café made, it does quite a good job.
Convenient, relatively mess free, a little noisy but bearable.
Recommend you descale as directed. If you need a quick milk froth, microwave milk in a jar without the lid of course say thirty seconds replace lid shake bingo. Temperature of the milk is important it holds the heat of the cup, but it can also make it too hot for quite a while, be sensible relating to this . Aldi sells a frother but it can be difficult to clean. By the way most pod machines dribble coffee under the catcher.

You get what you pay for.
I'm onto my second machine as the first stopped pumping water through and also had an annoying intermittent leak from the catching tray(design fault I'm sure). The first had for about 2 years and the second so far about 6 months old. I used it enough and liked the Tauro pods enough to get another one. Also a regular shopper at Aldi made buying the pods easy and cheap.
I also experience the occasional blow out. It has increased somewhat lately as I've had 4 with this box of Tauro pods alone. I don't seem to get blowouts with a different flavou...Read more

Not a good product
If you really love coffee, this unit does not do a good job. Drip coffee is better any day of the week. Not worth the price or the counter space.

Extremely good value for money
The good: An excellent range of coffees available as well as chocolate and chai. Bothe the machine and the pods are MUCH cheaper than the Nespresso machines and 97% as good I suspect. I laugh inside ever time I walk past the huge queue for pods at the Nespresso store in town!
The machine is quick and easy to use and clean. It would benefit from a bigger reservoir and also a bigger 'catch can' for used pods - but neither of these is a big problem and it would compromise the relatively small space the machine occupies.
The bad: I bought on...Read more
e of these early in the piece. It leaked. I took it back. After 12 months the new one leaked. Again Aldi replaced it (excellent warranty). Now my current one is doing it. I have no idea why, but it's not a big deal to wipe over the counter when it happens, especially given the price !. The ugly: Nothing, in fact it's quite stylish.Similar opinion? Why won’t my machine turn on at all?? I’ve checked plug voltage and everything else but It doesn’t turn on

We've had ours for about years. Problem is that the lever won't stay down when the pod is in place. The lever wants to spring back so you have to lean quite hard to hold it down while making the coffee. Rang the Support number and was told they had never heard of such a ;problem.

favourite coffee as Aldi did, and the prices are about the same for the coffee as well. I think that for a cheap coffee machine, the Kogan makes far more sense as it has a far larger base of coffee sources from all the stores and online.
