I was unable to remove the used pod container from my machine for many months, & eventually stopped trying. After about a year of disuse, I mentioned the problem to someone, this afternoon, & showed them how the container is supposed to be removed, so they could have a go, and as I did so, the container just came straight out, no problems! I gather it was because the coffee had become totally dehydrated over time, and so the pods had shrunk back down, so they no longer filled the available space...!
Anyway, I plugged my machine back in, filled up the water container, and tried to run the clean water through the machine. Although the 3 lights came on, then 2 went off (as they’re supposed to) leaving the milk/rinse button’s light on, when I pressed the button, nothing happened. I’ve tried all 3 buttons, and have tried with & without a pod in the machine, but nada! It doesn’t make a sound, either, so the water isn’t even heating up! Any suggestions as to what the problem might be, or how I might be able to get my Expressi machine working again?
Any help would be much appreciated!

How old is the machine ? Honestly from your story you probably need to go out and buy a new machine. Especially if it is not under warranty anymore. I have just bought the latest machine at Aldi and it is fabulous ! A lot quieter than the original one I purchased a few years back.

I suggest buying some descaler, it's not dear. Fill up your reservoir with water and a cap of descaler, the coffee residue builds up, thus blocking the flow. I hope this helps you.
Thank you so much for your prompt response! It started to work again after it had been turned off for a while, but I suspect it does need descaling as we have never done that up till now (unlike the Caffitaly we used to have that just seized up until you followed the laborious descaler process on a monotonously regulaf basis)!!l Really appreciate your help.

My coffee machine is only a couple of weeks old and the water isn't coming out the nozzle its going straight in where the pods are held????

I suggest you run a descaler through your machine, I do it at least once a week, otherwise coffee residue will block the outflow.

How long is the warranty for? I purchased a Coffee Machine on 1/5/2016. Is it still under warranty?

I believe the manifacturer warranty is 1 year. Better to check the warranty card that was in the package.

My expressi machine I bought from Aldi has been working fine now for over six months but recently it is not puncturing the capsules and water is just coming out. Any ideas?
1 answer
I have had two machines over 7 years, there were some dodgy batches of pods two year ago that had this issue, I stopped the machine, took out the pod and repunctured them. It is definite a pod issue, I had the same with both my new and old machine. The problem was fixed with the newer boxes of pods, but when I bought a multi value pack, they must haven been from the old batch, every pod the same

The rinse button stays on when i turn the machine on, ive rinsed it several times but stays on. I have tried the factory reset but still the same. Has any one else experienced this?
1 answer
Keep trying the factory reset buttons repeatedly! Mine had the same problem where it was only lighting up the rinse cup. Keep pressing the rinse and small cup over and over! It should hopefully work!

We are having problems with our 2nd Expressi machine, the water flow through the pods works sometimes and not others the machine is just over 12 months old, the water seems to drip into the empty pod holder. Is there a problem with the pods?

I have the same problem, tried to return it but they said I need a receipt, this was a gift in March - no receipt NO exchange
I had the same problem and they changed the machine at no charge, although I think it may have been a faulty batch of pods that caused it.
If u r using Aldi pods I'd say it's a problem with the coffee machine. If u r using other branded pods the problem will be with the pods as Aldi machines only like Aldi pods

I'm not a coffee drinker so excuse my total bemusement as to why this machine has a "Milk" button that "can also be used as a rinse button". Where does the milk go? seems stupid to have to tip the water out and then put milk in the reservoir. I can understand the rinse button so why not just say rinse button, why call it a milk button when it doesn't actually have any way to use milk?????
4 answers
It comes with a seperate milk frother yes it is stupid when the machine first comes on with the rinse light far right you need to rinse machine before you operate it hope that helps
Yeah I just don't know why it's called a milk button...should just call it a rinse button and be done with it. Other than that it's a good machine and the milk warmer/frothed is pretty awesome
Hi Shayne72. I don't think one should ever fill the machine with milk. There is a reference to "milk capsules" in the book (page 12) and says the instructions on how to use these are on the capsules themselves. I have never looked for "milk capsules" in store and just add my milk to the coffee when it is made. Hope that helps. :-)

Why is the rinse button referred to as the rinse/milk button, and the instructions say 'it also serves as a rinse button'. Does it serve another purpose?
3 answers
I use the rinse button before I make a coffee to release any residue left behind from the previous capsule, I'm not sure why it refers to milk as I don't have the frother so I add milk later
I am also confused why it is called a milk button, could it be what you use for hot chocolate pods to give the right amount of hot water for adding a lot of milk afterwards to make a milk based drink?
It says in the manual on page 12 that they have a range of milk capsules that can be used in this machine. I have a feeling the milk button should be used when using a milk capsule. I have just bought the machine currently on sale In March 2020.
