Aldi weed eater several years ago. Last time it was used over a year ago my grandson put it in our shed and I couldn't find the battery. Now that I found the battery I forgot what size line does the machine take
Any advice on how to replenish the line?
Remove the spool cover by turning it off the base lugs, drop the spool out, wind on line and replace cover.
Love the line trimmer however the plastic lugs have snapped off on the the line spool, where can I buy a replacement in Australia

That's the major problem with the trimmer, ring the supplier listed on the last page of instruction book. Replacements are $4, postage $12
After about 18 months of use the line on the trimmer ran out...but how do you get the spool off to re thread new line AND what type of line is recommended?

We would like to add a bladed cutting head to the device for heavy duty grass etc. The advertising we have seen says it will fit most snipper heads but it is not obvious how to go about it. Can you help please? I can take off the spool but that is it.

Not on the standard model, there is a multi tool trimmer but I haven't looked at one to see if adaptable

Yes,the suplier is listed in your instruction book, but covers for head break easily and are junk

If you have the instruction book still, there is a number to call provided, for parts. A motor would probably be expensive as the product by time freight charges are applied.

It is an electric motor - I would not recommend using oil.
To me - it seems the motor directly drives the head - so no need to oil any shafts

Also you can buy the Trimmer Line at Bunnings, you need 1.6mm. trimmer line.

Read morego. You can order the spool cover and the spool, or just the spool with the line if you don't need the cover. The little plastic bits that stick in the slot keep breaking. The part number for the 20V battery trimmer is 55392-4 for the Cover, and 55392 for the Spool. Hope this helps. I just phoned and reordered. Spoke with Kay this time. I rang the above number and they transferred me. Action Spares for Gardenline spares is 1800465070. They're in Smeaton Grange NSW. I ordered two spools, two covers and two springs. The postage has gone up since I ordered in May. It's now $15; that's why I ordered doublje. I found out that the reason mine was breaking was I wasn't hitting the silver spool feed button up and down directly with the trimmer going. If you don't do that that causes the spool catches to break.

The cutting head of my 20v line trimmer has a plastic clip broken off. Are replacement parts available and at what cost. The trimmer can not be used as the head keeps flying off.I have had this trimmer about 18 months.
I believe there is a 5 yr warranty for this. Get onto the Aldi site, and contact customer service.
