As a diabetic and a busy volunteer I often need a sugar hit and reach for Aldi's Dominion Party Mix lollies because they are such great value. Unfortunately they have disappeared from the shelves and been replaced with The Natural Confectionary Company version at TWICE the price. I am now looking at the fruit DATES as a better value option when I need to raise my sugar levels! Why are pitted dates cheaper than lollies?

Surely it just comes down to the cost to grow, harvest, pack, and import dates versus the cost to manufacture and pack sweets?

Most dried fruits are cheaper than manufactured lollies on a per kilo basis and far better for you. Look in Aldi's dried fruit section and there's pineapple, mango, paw paw, dates, sultana's and many more. bye

Feedback on the 2 seater faux leather sofa please

2 answers

Faux means fake. Have you tried finding a real leather two seater on Gumtree? Fake leather may wear down to the gauze it is fabricated on while real leather generally improves with age.

As much as I love Aldi and their grocery items, the majority of Aldi's furniture and electrical items are known as "stop-gap" products. In other words, something to get you by until you can purchase the real item you want or can afford.

Is their paint any good?

2 answers

No idea however as an industrial chemist also with paint experience, may I suggest you stay away from anything other than the top brands where Dulux is tops and British Paints arguably the next best

Fair Go

Aldi's paint is good for the price. Its made in Germany and does the job. As with anything, you get what you pay for, so don't be disappointed if it does not roll on or brush as good as Dulux, Wattyl or BP. bye

Oral-B from most supermarkets when on special for $22 are a sure bet. These last a decade or more, whereas I've heard the Aldi tooth brushes last about 2 years. bye

As much as I love Aldi, I always suggest from personal experience that large ticket item purchases from Aldi are not worth the $100 you may save initially. Small throw-away appliances are different, but if you buy a dishwasher or clothes dryer etc, when the warranty is up (usually 12 months) say goodbye to it because no appliance repairer has parts because there's none available even from the distributer. Stick to Electrolux, Simpson or Westinghouse where you can get a service call usually within 24 hours. bye

What is Aldi management doing to train their staff to be polite and offer good customer service when required? I am tired of being spoken to rudely by your staff.

I spent many years in the Franchise world,we spent masses of time teaching customer service. Staff need to understand that the old saying *the customer is right even when in the wrong* learn to look people in the eye when wishing them a nice day, not saying it whilst looking at the next in the line. If a phone rings smile at it before answering. Leave your home issues if you have any, at the door of the store.

Aldi's German management model of, minimal staff, minimal assistance, no fuss, no frills is the same in every Aldi store throughout the world. That's around 11,900 stores !.
If you want to be fussed over, you have to pay for that service and guess what ?.......prices are much higher like at Woollies and Coles. bye

I have found Aldi products very good except one, our Bauhn 40inch TV we bought last March 2018, just after the 12 month warranty ran out the TV started to Pixel-ate on all Ch 9 and SBS channels with distorted sound. I have sent two messages of the Aldi customer service with no response. Under the National Statutory warranty it should be covered. Can someone from Aldi please respond before I contact the ACCC

Aldi has made various statements to the media over the last 18 years that they are not remotely interested in social media, as all it does is attract whingers that waste their time and add costs to the groceries they sell.
I would have to agree with Aldi & Aldimobile as it always seems like the dumbasses that cant string two words together that whinge and think they are owed something. As for your TV, open the brochure and read who the distributer is and the contact number will be listed for repairs/warranty - which by the way, is the same as if you bought the TV at Harvey Norman or anywhere else. As much as I love Aldi and their products, I simply would not consider any electrical items other than well established brand names; ie Electrolux, Simpson, Westinghouse etc. You may save $100+ buying one from Aldi but what happens when you need a warranty call out service etc. At least with brand names, a technician can be at your door the next day. Stirling electrical products are those items that manufacturers shove out the door to Aldi at a cheap price because they are no where near the quality that they should be and Aldi sell them knowing that if they break down under statutory warranty ( and they most likely will because of very poor manufacturers quality) you Will Not get replaced or repaired thru Tempo warranty company. They will only offer refunds-Aldi just wast their money paying a warranty company to tell people what we already know -So beware-If you buy special buy electrical products from aldi-you will never get it replaced or repaired if it dies under all warranties

Why does the Aldi pane di casa bread have so many huge holes in the dough? This is not acceptable!

Thank you, I do know that pane di casa should have small holes in it. But these holes are not holes but craters! I have been buying the Aldi bread for the last 9 years and only over the last few months has this been happening. About 60% of the slice is just not there. Coles's pane di casa is excellent.

The aeration holes are meant to be large - that's authentic.

Since Aldi opened its first store in Sydney I have been making a Salmon Mornay dish every week and recommending Aldi to everyone, Today when I started cooking my wife and I noticed a smell from the salmon which was not inspiring. After it was all cooked and presented we both tasted it and declined to eat any more. The salmon had clearly been waiting a long time to be tinned and was old and smelly. One bad experience is all it takes. Aldi products have been excellent in our experience so please be vigilant about maintaining the high standards and please check on the processing of your "Ocean Rise Premium Red salmon." Reluctant to buy more right now.

John. Aldi opened their first store in Sydney in 2001, so that's 18 years without a hitch - pretty good in my books.
As you should be aware, 99% of canned salmon comes from Alaska/USA and supermarkets have no input or responsibility for manufacturers/suppliers products and no doubt if they did, it would fall on deaf ears or at best, they may get a "sorry, but we process 100,000 cans a day" sort of reply. Whilst its not nice to have a can of bad salmon and I agree with you, consider the reality that I mentioned earlier. regards
