How do you fix the retractable mechanism to rewind the hose?

The retractor mechanism is basically a big spring, connected an axle the hose winds on, which 'latches' or locks when you give it a tug at the length you want the hose out ( give it another tug to rewind, don't let it go back forcibly because the spring and latch will come out of their retainers ) At the point where the hose exits the box there are two rails, top and bottom, the hose rides in a block which rides these rails and allows the hose to wind back in layers. The block and rails get gummed up so spray some WD40 or similar to free them. Note: Take caution if you intend opening the entire hose box as the spring can come out and cause injury - I don't recommend you do this. Also try reducing the hose length, thereby the weight, also turn tap off first and allow excess to leave hose via nozzle.

We found the system just didnt work. It was less than 3 months old and should last longer than that. Adults only using it all the time. We will not be buying this brand again. Very dissapointed and a waste of money. I am surprised Bunnings still stock them.

I just bought mine a few days ago from Bunnings (not yet opened) but now, I am having second thoughts about it. Maybe I should return it and pay more to get a Holman instead.
