Stay Away

published

10 Years ago my first employer signed me up to Asgard, I didn't really know much about it. My next employer signed me up to Aus Super (Thank God!) and now when you start to learn about super and how I have money that's sitting with Asgards not growing and actually just losing money from Fees it's time to combine it. It's been 2 years of trying to get them combined, and Asgard are doing everything they can not release the funds. I've never received a statement or any information until 8 years later of being with them. I'll keep trying to have the funds removed from their control, but I suggest staying far far away from them.

Super thiefs

published

I needed my super a year ago it took one year to transfer super from one company to Asgard get a statement and withdraw my funds plus I got taxed on money that was never due to be taxed and a fee of $110 for there hard work plus $100 missing beside the tax figure. I hate super and don't believe in it the way the world is its a struggle to see 30 for most I shouldn't have to have a spine injury or claim tpd to have my funds available top tip for the new generations make your own super fund with our own rules. Don't trust anyone.

Simply wouldn't recommend them at all!

published

Got roped into this fund by my then financial advisor, didn't really put much thought into it initially as I was dealing with a family death and simply (foolishly) trusted their judgement. Fast forward two years and minimal returns and communication. I finally received my statement and went through it, I was horrified to see how much I was losing in fees and advisor commissions! Now I know why she'd recommended me this fund she was cleaning up off my super! Avoid these guys like the plague, only people who make any sort of money are the fund itself and the advisors who are skimming off the top of your super!

Who cares about the will, they'll give the money to whoever they want

published

So my dad had a really specific will. He wanted things to go quite evenly. We all had a copy, we all knew about it. Asgard decided to completely ignore his wishes and give it all to one person even though we all filled in exactly the same claim form. When I contacted them, they said one of us had put in additional "documents" to support our claim. This was completely untrue as it all went through a solicitor. They also couldn't produce those "Documents" when asked by the person. This company caused so much stress in an already stressful and delicate situation between all the dependants. I would avoid this company as much as possible.

Horrible Service

published

This company service wasn't very good, they were sending me the wrong information and every time I kept on doing it they would tell me that I actually have to do something else and I had to keep on changing the things I already did and it was very frustrating. I think they should pay more attention to their customers.

Terrible Service

published

As Payroll officer, I handle lots of different super funds. Asgard is the one I spent lots of time to communicate and their customer service is not very helpful. It took months to set up online account for us. You have to keep calling and sending email but hardly get any response. I guess they are such big company who doesn't care those small customers.

Terrible company to deal with. Stay away!

published

Very frustrating to deal with. Keeps loosing our details. Deserves zero stars or negative stars but not possible to leave that rating. How they are still in business is a mystery

1Star is a star too many

published

I have been involved wth a lot of different funds over a number of years and I can honestly say this is the worst fund I have ever come across. Lucky to get out with my original investment after waiting for any type of growth over several years. These guys should wear balaclava's and carry shotguns. RIP OFF MERCHANTS

Terrible

published

The fees are ridiculous. In 10 years, there is no yield at all. There would be more interest putting the fund in the bank. Total rip off. I would give negative rating if i can.

Haven't heard from them in 2 years

published

I wrote to them today asking where my statements were and how I can get an adviser that makes contact and I received a reply from BT, whoever they are?
Does anyone know what is going on because BT only operate on business hours in Sysdney and we are in WA?

Avoid this company. Used a super fund on their advice and got out a year later because of the fees.

Asgard is not an investment!!!! and thus it cannot perform good or bad!!!!

published

Do any of you realise what Asgard is, before you whinge anonymously? Asgard is just an administration platform that reports and facilitate functions within their 'platform'. IE buy an investment, sell an investment, accept contributions, receive dividends, pay your tax, etc. It is not an investment and thus it cannot have poor returns. It is the investments underlying, that you as the customer, your employer or your adviser has chosen that has performed badly supposedly. I have been with them for 10 years plus and no they are not the cheapest on the market but they are the most efficient. You get what you pay for. You pay peanuts - you get monkeys.

Fees with Asgard and Adviser ridiculous, moving to another fund

published

Ripped Off

published

We rolled our super into Asgard through a financial adviser, never again. Their fees and the adviser fees and the provincial tax (which I still don't understand) has lost us thousands. Between the two of us, in the two weeks it took to roll over, I reckon we lost $10,000, I will be writing a complaint. When we finally get my partners statement.

Trying to clear up a deceased estate....

published

This company is terrible. We have been trying to retreive approx. $80,000 that is held by Asgard, from our late father's estate. We have filled in every form they requested.....but we just cannot get them to release the funds. As requested, they have a copy of the will, probate certificate, copy of the death certificate, letters from our solicitor.....but still they stall on paying out. They also sent out forms that we had to get his ex-wife to sign agreeing that she does not want to make a claim on the money. This is not their decision to make....who gets the money. This was all set out in a will...... Avoid Asgard at all costs.

Not a good one for me

published

I signed the form because my ex boss recommended (big mistake.. the agent was his friend)
I didn't really care what was going on at least my boss paid super for me. and I moved from there and check the balance, it was shocking. profit was less than service charge, so every each day my money was just taken from this company .. for a while I thought it was normal, not every investment can be successful. However, I asked every of my friends, it's not happening to their super.

Beware on Closure of account

published

On closing my account I requested all shares be sold and funds to be transferred to a nominated account.
This was done without the supply of Contract Documentation as was always the process on sale and purchases.
Hence I cannot verify the authenticity of the value of these sales.
I am in discussion with the relevant Ombudsman as a result.

Weigh up your options

Been with them for nearly 10 years with ewrap. Just about to come out even of what we put in in originally in 2006. Fees and charges are eating up most of the profits. Even when they lost us over 250K in the financial crisis time, they kept charging no problem. Time to switch!

We have approx 350,000 sitting in a account with a bank making about 2%, this is on top of a fairly moderate super fund. We would like to know of a secure investment that would give us more interest without risk we are both 80 years old. The super fund is with asgard through a financial adviser but would prefer to deal direct saving fee's ??

We were in first state super when we were advised by a manager at St George bank to see their financial advisor. We on his advise, as he went out into his own business, transferred to Asgard. His and their fees have always shocked me and after 5 years have about the same amount as we gave them. Have now lost 25000 in last 14 days. we are retiring next March. Rang and spoke to advisor re my terror of this situation he abruptly said it will turn around but we do not have 10 years or so for this to happen. Where do we go from here?
