Wished I replaced my Miele with Miele instead of Asko
I bought the larger version of the Asko new to reduce number of loads but this machine has real problems with towels and just refuses to spin regardless of whether I reduce number of towels or rearrange load.
My Miele lasted 20 years and never missed a beat in that time regardless of what I put into it.
I doubt if this Asko will go the distance since it's not performing the basics from the get go and thinking of replacing it before too long.
Also extremely noisey.
Purchased in January 2021 at The Good Guys for $1,200.00.

Lemon since the start.....
Nothing but trouble since we've had it. The Good Guys salesman convinced me that I would be buying a super reliable washing machine that was built stronger than any other on the market and wouldn't give me any trouble! There has been fault message after fault message and now there is power to the machine but the program won't start...... 6 people to wash for, I'm losing my patience with it.

Best of the Best
only Machine without a rubber seal on the door and that is the reason we purchased it.
Quiet well modulated machine with ease of function and range of cycles. Good quality build, durable and fully functional.
It washes all fabric types well and has appropriate cycles to match. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a high quality washing machine.

Pretty good so far
I bought the Asko ECO machine. It washes pretty well, the clothes come out clean and I like that I can choose the temperature, wash time and type of spin cycle. I do have trouble closing the door as it take a lot of strength - so I push it closed with my knee and body weight. I don't like how once the door is closed it can't be opened. I've had it for around 2 years but have only used it for last 6 months, I hope it lasts longer than others have experienced. I paid extra to get the ECO model and was told there was on overnight ECO wash but can't find a setting for it all.

Great washer, top price, just missing features
We replaced our old front load washer with this top of the line Asko.
The 10 kg drum size swayed us to this one, dual water connections hot & cold also.
Our previous washer only had cold connection.
So I hope it will be more economical. It has a good star rating.
The machine is nice but don’t expect it to fit under a standard 600mm bench, as it sticks out further, which is fine in our laundry.
It can fit king size blankets fine.
It washes really well, with all sorts of clothes.
The door lock feature is great as it unlocks immediately when you press stop.
Our previous washer had a 90 second delay.
The port hole handle is easy to open.

Another great Asko appliance
The previous Whirlpool WFE1210 suffered a pump failure after 5 years of hard work and because we had a positive experience with our Asko dishwasher, we decided to try this unit.
Although it has a considerably smaller drum than the (identical 10kg capacity) Whirlpool, it handles everything we have thrown at it over the last 3 months with ease.
Everything comes out clean and fresh using the Costco liquid pods.
It is way quieter than the Whirlpool was and noticeably quicker on almost every cycle.
It takes up a lot less laundry space than ...Read more

Cleans well, very quiet but does have some flaws
My whole adult I've always had top loaders but decided this time I wanted to purchase a front loader. I spent endless hours researching machines online and in store and listening to everyone's opinion. I finally called in one day to the Good Guys Loganholme Qld store and they actually had the Asko machines set up so you could actually see them in operation in spin cycles etc. This was fantastic and the salesman that served me was very helpful in explaining it all to me and assuring me this machine had all the options I required, So I finally ...Read more
made a d decision and purchased the Asko 8844XL Eco. After it's arrival I quickly learnt the salesman's product knowledge was not 100% correct and that this model Asko machine in fact doesn't have the pause/add a garment feature that I was assured it had and the door doesn't open on completition of the wash cycle. So I was quite disappointed and frustrated as I'd asked all the questions but was not given the correct answers. Five months down the track I do really like this machine but it definitely has some Pros & Cons. PRO'S 1. It's a very quiet machine 2. Huge wash capacity 3. Washers very clean & gentle on clothes CON'S 1. My big hate is the Timer is horrible!!! it's inaccurate and does not count down the complete cycle, it does sections so you never really know what part of the wash cycle the machine is in. One minute you think the machine has 5 minutes to go and then next time you enter the laundry it'll say 16 minutes on the screen. It drives me nuts as every machine I have had the timer has counted down the wash cycle. 2. the wash cycles are very long, the quick cycle is 50minutes with most everyday cycles ranging between 1.6 -2.5 hours which can be a hassle in a large family.Similar opinion? Love my asko washing machine
I have always preferred a front loading washing machine. The only feature I did not like was the rubber collar around the entrance to the drum. It always got mouldy and dirty, hard to clean.
So when I went shopping for a new washing machine I discovered that asko had addressed this issue with a new design that avoided the issue of the rubber neck. I think it's great, best design. It's very easy to use.

Reliable, quiet, bright whites, and excellent value. . .
Purchase
I purchased the Asko W8844XL ECO model approx 12 months ago from the Good Guys. I was very lucky to find this with a cash back offer and ended up paying the additional for installation. At first I was sold on a Miele7kg, but was attracted to the Asko for its great reputation, and value for money. At this price point, This unit has capacity to wash up to 10kg. Attractive option if your washing larger items, as I am. The price difference from this to the Miele10kg was thousands.
Excellent customer service from Asko technician....Read more
The representative who installed our unit, also removed our previous washer, and provided excellent customer service. He showed me how to operate the cycles, and how much detergent to use with each wash, which has probably been the best and hardest thing for me to get used to- I literally use a quarter of the detergent that I used to use and the machine does the rest! Nothing short of Fanta$tic! About the unit The drum size is excellent, with a king bed, and three doubles, I can wash all the sheets (provided they are like colours) with ease on the regular cycle, spin on 1000 and a morning to air on the line and their done. My towel wash is also done with ease, no stops, and still in perfect shape. A load will consist of 4 std bath towels, 3 mats, 4 hand towels, results are bright whites, fluffy and fresh. The spin cycle is excellent and draws the water out of the items being washed without damaging the shape of the items being washed, and on each cycle, you can choose to dial up or down on the spin, which is handy for delicates, and woollens.1 comment

Terrible however got a refund!!
Since the day we got this machine we had numerous problems, flooding the laundry, numerous door issues, leaking. We had replacements and they were faulty as well.
After numerous calls and technicians I was finally put on to Vani who organised for the machine to be picked up and a full refund given. This was the only positive.
Prior to buying my next washing machine I spoke to some technicians and they stated if I had got a smaller Asko it would have been amazing but the 10kg has numerous problems therefore stay away.
I really wanted an asko maybe in future once they refine the 10kg I may re-consider

Love it
Reading some of the other reviews I wonder if they have the same machine. Mine works perfectly, I have 4 very messy kids and some of the clothes I had 'written off' from stains came out perfectly clean. My clothes come out clean and very dry (halved the time required to dry them). I absolutely love it!

great machine
After my last Asko died at 17 years old I decided to give the brand another try and so far the machine has been great. It does a great job on my mechanic husband's work clothes and my whites are radiant. However, after reading the other reviews I think I am pleased that I took out the extended warranty although I hope not. It has lots of choices of wash program, temperature and spin speed. I love mine in any case.

Love it. Quiet and efficient.
I got my new washer after years of a huge top loader. We wanted the under bench so we could free up counter space in the laundry. It is great. Almost no shaking like some other washers but ours is on a slab. It is a big machine and easily fits all our washing in a couple of loads for a family of four. We wash once a week or fortnight. I love the 'Cleaning' function as my sons are allergic to soaps and cleaners. It basically boils the wash drum and gets rid of the residue from hubbies filthy clothes (tradie) that need more detergent or napisan. ...Read more
And it is really pretty. Sleek, neat and no rubber inside to get mouldy and scummy. Does maybe take longer then a top loader but I just set to a quick load if I need it washed quickly. Clothes can come out very dry on a super 1400RPM spin but not cruched with the anti cruch cycle. Seriously an anti-cruch cycle, I didn't know what I was missing. But I use it for all the school uniforms and my clothes then only need a light iron or no ironing.1 comment

Reduces time in the laundry
Got this one to replace an old 6kilo Asko, glad we decided for the 10kilo. Means we can throw an entire set of sheets, quilt cover + pillow cases & still have room to spare.
No longer need to go to the laundromat to do our quilt any more.
Left the detergent divider in the when washing a white couch cover so it only had the oxygen bleach to wash & still came out white even without the detergent being used.
Very happy with another Asko machine.

Hi, We have had our asko for about 18 months now and I cannot seem to get the clothes and towells to come out soft and fluffy. I have tried both fabric softner and vinegar, and I have also cut back the spin speed but to no avail. Can someone please advise if there is anything else I can do? Hate hard towells!

I have an Asko W8844XL ECO. It is not quite 3 years old and I have had nothing but trouble with it since I purchased it. Today I ran a Quick program which shutdown during the program (I was at work but the door was locked when I got home and I had to drain the machine and open the door with the emergency key). Now I have loaded the machine again and set it to a Quick wash and it is clicking but not starting. It is not telling me to close the door (it is closed though). Any advice as to what it could be?

Hi
I start the machine
The cycle won’t start until I push on the door when it clicks second time
Hope this works
Got me maybe a program or electrical fault if some kind mine's been great so far came highly recommended salesman said he'd had 1 for 20+ years never had a problem.
Has it been repaired? Never over loaded? Doesn't help
Try lighter load or is there a way of rebooting it like a computer like a reset switch?
ASKO recommended that I replace the door lock. Have done that - still no joy

Asko sell a pedestal for their washing machines. Does this fit on it? or is this unit too big/heavy/different dimensions?
1 answer
I recall the salesman from Harvey Norman's mentioning something about a pedestal, however I think he mentioned it may no longer be available or if your machine is put on a pedestal not specifically designed to go with it, then it would void the warranty. Sorry I can't be of much help but If in fact you are still able to purchase a pedestal through Asko then it would be best to check with them directly. Maybe it was a case of only using an Asko pedestal that suits your Asko machine. Mine just sits very well on a tile floor.

etergent- Asko servicing was fantastic and talked me through possible issues and sent a representative to check the unit and clear the issue - lesson to use much less detergent! The Asko washes still with low noise, and low usage of washing detergent. I run a clean cycle at least 1 per month and leave the door slightly ajar if I have had to wash with a hot cycle, however majority of my washing is done in cold water and comes out clean and fresh. If you are thinking of getting this type of clothes washer I would still recommend it.
