I got one of these when I went overseas a few years back. I found with the fees it wasn’t worth having. You’re better off with a debit card with no overseas fee charges or ATM fees (eg ING). I only had less than $20 left on the card. Tried to use it but it wouldn’t work. Thought I had my PIN wrong but when I checked online and I was right. I was thinking of cutting up the card but I received a replacement card as the old one had expired. The letter said to take the letter to the Post Office to activate the card. I took it there. They said they ...Read more
couldn’t do it and to ring the number on the letter. I rang Auspost and keyed in the card number. They said it was incorrect. They said to key in another number on the card. They said that was wrong. Eventually I got onto a helpful person. She informed me that there was a problem with recently issued cards and that I would have to buy a new one. She said the application fee of around $6 would be waived but that I would have to ring them again to get this done after I had purchased the new card. She told me that I had about $13 on the card. I thanked her and cut up my card.

Yes, I was fully aware of the fees and charges at the time as it mirrored what else was available. Now is a different ball game. My review also highlighted the inefficiency of Auspost and the uselessness of the Load & Go.

Card blocked, I’m in Bali and 24/7 number not working
Was told that I couldn’t use my load&go reloadable card for ATM withdrawals in Bali and I should get a load&go Travel card, which I did. I am now in Bali, used it to pay for my accommodation and the transaction is declined. My card is blocked, I have tried to call the 24/7 support number but it just disconnects.

I purchased an Australia Post Load&Go Travel Card today, loaded $ onto it at the Post Office. At home, on my computer, I logged into my Australia Post account and tried to register the card. The website says that the card is registered, but keeps asking me to add a card. The implication is that the registration process has got part-way, but cannot be completed.

Terrible customer service
Was given one of these cards as a present and planned on putting the money towards something I was saving for. I was told by staff at the shop to ring customer service and extend the date if needed. Rang customer service who said they won't extend it and told me to go back to the shop. The explanation given for not re issuing a card or extending the expiry was to refer to the terms and conditions. Terrible service. This card is useless.
This card was useless. The activation process failed and I couldn’t load money onto the card on line. I was charged to check the balance as I couldn’t do it on line. The app didn’t work and just strobed on my iPad. The customer support was useless and did not get back to me. I wasted hours trying to resolve these issues including two trips to Australia Post who said there was nothing they could do. Australia Post are disingenuous promoting this card to customers as they really don’t know anything about it.
ps 3 days later still no response from customer support.

+4.83+40.55+8.66+15.04

The utter lack of security

I had a similar issue with this card. I tried to buy via eftpos at a shop with my savings in this card, and could not rectify the issue.
When I contacted load and go, to help me to get into my online Australia post load and go account they wanted me to give them a photo of my medicare card and drivers licence detalis online. I felt that doing this online may be unsafe, due to the possibility of I.D theft
Also, when I had money stolen out of my Australia post load and go account, when I complained to the Australia post staff, they would not even investigate it, or follow it up. The fees for load and go are very expensive. I think that you are better of using a special fee free or low fee bank account for online purposes, to get better customer service and lower fees.
