Waste of time and money
I hoped to use this to contact my brother (mobile) while in Switzerland and Germany, and to use in England for mobile to mobile calls with family. Either there is something I don't understand, or it is way too complicated, but I didn't succeed in making one succesful call, nor was my brother able to contact me on the number I was assigned. Once I got to England (failed again) I just threw it out and got a local sim which worked fine with unlimited calls for free after initial purchase.

Useless
I thought I purchased a trustworthy Australia post product....wrong. I could not access data while in Europe and only was able connect while in hotel and other cafe areas. Had an issues with maps although I downloaded all areas before I left. Just when i needed it the most it just let me down. Another person travelling with me, bought their sim while over there and worked so much better than mine. Useless product.

Didn't work
Before I left, I had several phone calls to support to find out if the sims were right for me. After the first two calls, there were changes and all the countries I was intending to visit, were now in Zone 1 and I would have to buy two separate sims, not two linked sims. The day before I left, I was on the phone for 1 hour, trying to get the two sims set up, one on my Ipad and one on my phone. Support assured me everything was working and the sims were activated. It was important for me, as a single traveller, to have contact with the group l...Read more
eader at all times and to have contact with family at home, as a new baby was to be born while I was away. While away, I kept getting messages on my phone, warning me about data roaming, but that was switched off. Also, each time I tried to use the sim, I got messages saying I couldn't connect to the network. I couldn't contact support as I had no service and that was the case in Singapore, Switzerland, France, Germany and Netherlands. Very very unhappy that I got no service for the $150 I spent on the sims.

Would not use again
Bought the extra pre-departure package to cover local calls + data before leaving so I could leave local SIM at home but this did not work (instead it started using the travel allowances before I left). Company well aware this package does not work and unable to explain why they continue to advertise/sell this extra product. They credited the extra data to the travel data allowance but this proved unhelpful as I was never able to access this in the US (had to rely on local wifi). Texts/calls back to Au moderately priced and relatively easy, but not worth the hassle without data and also locals don't like calling you on an Au number.

Australia post helped us out.
My wife and I had had problems with our Australia post SIM card. We emailed Australia post and they got back to us within half an hour!
They were most helpful. My phone settings wee not correct and after a couple of emails everything was sorted out.
Thank you to Australia post for getting things sorted for us.

Warning!!! Avoid at all cost!
Bought $25.00 deal. Every time I blinked another 50mb gone. Then phone credit went negative. I had made NO CALLS. Complained. 3 days later they came back and said "oops, we set it up wrong".

DO NOT USE this sim
Tested Australia.
Issues landing in (DOHA) so I enabled roaming for Australian sim.
At destination no data, voice, and limited SMS.
SMS then disappeared.
Using the App, data was as purchased - still full credit.

TERRIBLE

Absolutely appalling service
Is not as simple as active and you’re right to go.
They fail to inform you of all sorts of issues. My sim is active yet when inserted displays as sim not valid. When contacting Aust post about it they say it’s a carrier fault and phone needs to be unlock however phone is not locked to a carrier.
Absolutely terrible sim to purchase.

Do not buy or use
Do not use. Traveling in the US, app doesn't work, web page doesn't update. Calls inn and out don't work. I Travel a lot and thought I would give the AP TravelSim a go - never again. Just buy a sim at Walmart or wherever. TRAVELSIM is completely useless!!!

Wish we had never purchased Australia Post TravelSIM
Prior to travelling to Cambodia/Vietnam in May 2022, we purchased two Travel SIM cards from Australia Post $25 each = $5 credit +added $25 credit to each SIM. Had to contact support due to issues getting the numbers activated before we even left Au. Texted family and sent a couple of photos (no calls to anyone or texts to each other) & credit all used. Tried to add more credit to each but all went to one phone number so contacted support to get half transferred. This was used up quickly even though we were now using FB for photos/contact to fam...Read more
ily. Added more credit to each SIM but couldn't use one phone to text anyone. Contacted support but issued not fixed. $150+ spent and time wasted prior to and after travelling so we would definitely not recommend purchasing Australia Post TravelSIM cards.Similar opinion? Not user friendly - expensive
Purchased at The Pines LPO advised for google maps, sold phone/sms credit. Called customer service and queried how I check the data after activation, told me I had the wrong product. We then had to purchase a $65 3gb data pack. We were told the incorrect charges for countries we were visiting, so were billed more than we had expected. Billed extra on sms for inserting emojis, each emoji incurs 1 x sms charge. Data pack did not work at all, data roaming was on? They are at least refunding this amount. I have been assured if I had the ap...Read more
p it would have given me information on usage of calls/sms/data. I was advised a number of times by the operator (who kept talking over me) that it is standard telecommunications law. Something as a consumer I am not familiar with, nor was the operator when I asked which law it was. I found this highly amusing. I would not recommend using this product. It is expensive and does not allow you to "travel with confidence" as the brochure suggests.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
something terrible wrong with this product
Please be careful before you use this service. My relative overseas got charged as well making a call from Australia and fee obliged to reimburse them. No wonder others have ask me not to ring them from my phone. Also texting took more than 24 hrs to arrive. I would not want to be in a emergency
I only just discovered all this faults even so I have been with Prepaid TS for over 2 years

Australia Post Travel Card Failure
I was travelling to Singapore with family. We bought 2 Australia Post Travel Sims to text each other while in Singapore for free.
I used it 4 times and my $5 credit dropped below $1 even though these texts were supposed to be free. Which was very unhelpful when trying to connect with my sister who had just arrived at Change Airport. No communication to find each other.
It turns out I was given an "old" travel sim even though I had purchased it 1 week ago and there are no free texts between the travel Sims. It was $1 per text and $1 per minute...Read more

sim card wont connect to network.
I purchased my travel sim today1st June, set up online went fine, loaded card up with 100.00 dollars, but tried phone and keeps telling me that it cannot connect to network, I rang the 1300 number for assistance, and the young lady was very helpful, and we tried different things on the phone, but nothing worked, she said she would put in a report and someone should get back to me in the next couple of day's, which would be okay but I fly out this week and really need to resolve it ASAP.

So easy to use and work without issue
Purchased a dual-sim pack with 1GB of data and $30 of calls for a trip to Europe. Worked without any issues, comes with an Australian mobile and worked fine in Europe. Second time I have used these, they are great.

workable
My setup was easy, I had two travel SIMs. Also the support were great, they transferred credit to the other SIM when I needed that. The Android app is quite good.
TravelSIM can be a touch expensive .. a recharge of the SIM doesn't automatically include data which apparently is extra. If there was a credit option less than $25 ... you just have to watch usage while overseas.

This product does not seem to work without spending your whole holiday on the phone to customer service
I purchased and activated this sim today, worked for about 10 minutes then stopped. I've been on hold for over an hour for the customer service. After spending $25 on the sim, then another $30 on credits the service has completely stopped. extremely disappointing.
The pre departure pack i purchased was never applied to my account and the solution I was offered by customer service was to just not use data. Until I go overseas.
as soon as I arrived overseas the issues continued. The data pack I purchased didn’t seem effective, and any data use...Read more
came off the overseas credit (very quickly). Still awaiting on resolution but after having to contact customer service 3 times before departing, and immediately after arriving overseas I don’t have very much faith that this product will work at all.Similar opinion? Avoid like the plague
After many failed attempts to get on line help after 25 minutes waiting eventually got customer support on phone.
They could not email me back as they had a ( technical ) issue their end.
Eventually they managed manually to confirm my pin & informed me that I had not in fact run out of data after initially saying I had a zero balance.
Managing the card whilst in Aussie is difficult - from overseas it is a disaster.
Get your act together AP !
