Looking to buy second hand mint condition at end of 2020/beginning 2021 really impressed with design at many levels
Good Innovative Design
Sets up / Packs up ...quick
Low wind profile so low wind drag when towing; means better fuel economy for car.
Great compromise when compared to other smaller and larger caravans.
Well made;solar energy... gas for cooking Independent Battery for charging via solar. Air conditioning available.
No canvas to Wear tear; leak in rain and need of replacement latter...ie low maintenance cost.

Great little van
So far this van has stood up to all kinds of weather. Rain is no problem and is comfortable when its wet. The van is easy to tow and does not sway at high speed (110km). It is also easy to reverse into small spaces. Easy to put up (3 Min) the only drawback is the annex as it is harder to put up and takes a bit of time. Once up, gives ample room to move around in and is comfortable. We only use the battery for lighting and charge it with a portable 120w solar panel and the lpg gas for the refrigerator when stopped. 3 Kg gas bottle lasts 2 weeks when camping. A cost effective van great for two people if you dont want all the luxury of bigger vans.

Hi Alan, we have a 2003 Avan Aliner. We have had it for 4 years or so. I modified the bed do that we could access the storage area a little easier. The bed is made up all the time now instead of the lounge seating. As we eat and cook outside, we tend to travel fairly light. I did put plugs in the van for external lighting in the annex. we have a Ute so we carry our chairs, spare fridge, generator etc on it. The fridge in the van runs on 12 volt from the ute while travelling and usually run it on gas when we are free camping, otherwise in a caravan park we use 240 volt power. Hope this is of some use to you. Kel
Thanks!
Any tips are appreciated, so as to get the most out of what the van can “ potentially “ offer.

We have just bought an Avan Sportliner 2001 model. Can anyone tell me whether this model comes with an inbuilt braking system? Or do we need to get electric brakes fitted to the trailer, as well as getting an electric brake controller fitted to the car? Regards DP

Our Van is a 2003 Avan Aliner which has electric brakes fitted to it. We had to get a electric controller for our Pajero and Hilux ute. A mechanic will be able to tell you if it has electric brakes. Hope this helps, Kel

Elsewhere they say air conditioning unite fails to effectively control temperature ... maybe too much glass / poor insulation.,.
