Wonderful for shrubs and trees
The chippings from this machine are just great as the are crushed and splintered into thumbnail sized pieces. Feeding leafy material attached to branches caused minimal blockages but just leaves will clog the cutter. Having owned petrol powered machines previously, the reduction in noise and self feeding was most welcome.
Purchased in March 2021 at Gumtree Used for A$300.00.

First shredder, works well
It shreds small to medium branches without any problems. Bamboo, palm leaves, all just disappear. It can get clogged with too many palm fronds though, but it is easy enough to unclog. I've had it for over two years now and it hasn't missed a beat.
Purchased in January 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse for A$800.00.

Other Garden Shredders
It is not suitable for garden greens
Just bought it yesterday and found it good on drier woody branches but not on greenery as it is described and twigs, not cutting it to small pieces as expected. If you are using it mostly for greenery, it is not for you.

No Parts Available if it breaks
I bought one of these about 3 years ago. It worked fairly well but liked dryer product. It was pretty well hopeless on green feedstock. The “Turbo Cutter” clogged easily and took some cleaning out but on the whole it did its job.
Then the excreta hit the propeller. The “electronic assembly” burnt out. I rang Bunnings and they informed me that they would contact me within 48 hours to tell me if they were available. Very quiet and powerful. Big upgrade over the AXT Rapid 2200
I owned an AXT Rapid 2200 for 9 months. It was a good shredder, although very noisy, prone to blockages and labour intensive. I liked it nonetheless, but it took me a long time to shred through the large volumes of material that we produce in our garden. After some time it developed a fault and I was able to return it and upgrade to the AXT 23 TC.

h the previous shredder. The AXT 2200 Rapid would probably block up once every 10-15 minutes, whereas the AXT 23 TC does not block up once in a 2 hour shredding session. The AXT 23 TC is also much better suited to woody material, yet it doesn't block up with the greener leafy material. Honestly, I would say forget about the price difference as the AXT 23 TC is so much more efficient and you will save hours of labour by buying this more expensive machine. I wish I knew this first time around and then the first 9 months of shredding would have been so much easier. I should point out that these machines are not commercial type machines (e.g. Hansa C4, C7) so you can't expect to process material as fast as they will. However if you have a large yard, the AXT 23 TC is still fast enough to process a lot of material fairly quickly. The Bosch is also much quieter than the Hansa so this is a big advantage in that you can shred in the evenings (important if you have young children).Similar opinion? The best ever crusher.
This machine is the real deal. it feeds almost effortlessly from the top and virtually drags the limb with side branches attached, into the chute, with little assistance. Occasionally a push is required with the implement supplied. It chops with such ease, minimal fuss and noise. We have used it to munch up an upturned Acacia, gum tree branches, fruit tree pruning limbs. it will crush up to around 40- 45cm diameter limbs. This a machine I can safely use on my own (senior female) and I simply love it.

s, in the compost or directly onto our garden beds. I cannot find anything negative to say about this machine, except it requires a little care in moving it around.Even so, it is not difficult. At my age, it is wonderful to have a machine that does not hurt my back and does not require my husband to assist. Oh, it does require an extension cord, its only design fault. A previous non Bosch machine was pretty good, but was low and our ageing backs did not like it much anymore. I cannot understand how anyone could give this Bosch machine a low score. My neighbours use it and greatly approve of our upgraded purchase. The felt it was simply amazing and easy to use. A friend lent me their smaller Bosch upright muncher. Not suitable for most shredding
Currently on third one of these due to failures. Original purchase from Bunnings in September 2013 with a 2 year warranty. Replaced by Bunnings in March 2014 after machine sent to Brisbane and could not be repaired. Problem
was machine just sits there with lights flashing and nothing else. Replaced again in October 2015 again by Bunnings
with identical fault of lights flashing and no action. Current machine still under 2 year warranty ( I hope ) and has
intermittent problem. Useless as a shredder as it only likes straight branches like bambo...Read more

It has a short cord which is permanently attached to the machine. You need a long extension cord to connect from the machine to the wall power outlet.

Yes. Does not like green bushy stuff. Will eat any dry hard stuff you care to put into it. HOWEVER I would not buy another Bosch product ever! When mine stopped working it turned out to be the mother board. No local (North Queensland) dealers had one. I contacted Bosch in Melbourne and spoke to an unpleasant woman who was keen to be part of the problem rather than part of the solution. She told me my 3 year old machine was not in warranty and I would have to fix it myself. When I explained that I was not looking for warranty just the name of a dealer who might have the part I needed she told me that I would have to ring each dealer 'till I found one. I rang a dealer who went out of his way to be helpful. He checked and there were none available in Australia. Further the wait could be up to 6 weeks. The part I required cost about $160.00 from memory this is 20% of new price! At this point I gave up and purchased an Ozito with a 3 year replacement warranty. I will never purchase another Bosch product as long as I live. $800 down the drain, $266 per annum to keep a small suburban block tidy.
PS The Ozito cutter is the same design as the Bosch. It does not like soft stuff either but works well on hard stuff. Neither works well on palm fronds bu will eat all the prongs and scrub stems you want to feed them.
