Competition is better value

published

Purchased Sept '19 for domestic use. Never used mason bit...no concrete or bricks. Only for making holes for planting seedlings & young shrubs. Whole chuck assembly fell apart and separated from motor. Unfinished job and expensive paperweight. Bosch can do better, surely. Longevity expected in a domestic environment and $349!!

Purchased in September 2022 at Bunnings Warehouse for $349.

Disappointed!

published

I have been a Bosch man for over 30 Years, I bought a combination hammer drill to replace my current Bosch hammer drill.
I had to return the "Newly purchased" drill after only one day of use. The hammer action kept stalling and I had to use pliers to retrieve my drill bit that was now stuck in the brick work .

Purchased in May 2020 at Total Tools for $399.

Burnt out after light use

published

This drill burnt out after 1.5 years of VERY LIGHT in home use, ie hanging paintings and perhaps having drilled 20-30 holes over 18 months in concrete walls (this is a so called percussion drill which is made for concrete and other uses). It appears to be well made but I could not recommend this drill.

Purchased in January 2018.

Be cautious

published

I purchased one of these 3 years ago as part of a package deal and after only 5 months it went to bosch warranty and had a new gearbox, motor and chuck. 3 years to the month of the repair it completely burnt out and though metal shards from the vents and stank etc. Bosch WILL NOT cover any tool out of warranty for any reason. I have other bosch professional tools failed out of the box. One of the 4ah coolpack batteries fan is sounding on its way out too. I have to say it is a very good tool and I love their tools pre lithium ion but only pay enough for a tool that lasts 3 years max and batteries that last 2 years max. I expect better but prices rise and quality drops.

$ 500 of Junk

published

Bought my beautiful Swiss made QUALITY BOSCH drill about five years ago but sadly, after only using it at home, the high gear has failed. DO NOT BUY!!! I'm in the middle of putting up a small shed, now have to replace it. Bucket of junk. I am truly disappointed Bosch!!!

Good tool

published

I've used this tool for 2 years. It vents pretty well under heavy use but I have managed to engage the motor protection system a few times which can be a little annoying. After resting for 5-10 mins I find its generally good to go again. Belt clip would be a good addition.
Heavy chuck. LED light
No belt clip.

So Far So Good...

published

This drill replaced an older 14.4V Bosch which after 5 years of constant hard work needed to be retired.
I have belted seven shades of you know what out of this drill and it is yet to let me down. I use it for everything at work and have had no issues in any material and the batteries are surprisingly long lasting.
Reliable, tough and holding up well

Hey mate, thanks for your input. I was about to buy one... How come bosch did not warrant this product? They give 3 years warranty right now. What happened?
