Hi Craig, thanks for your question. The 21e and 22e are practicality the same, the 22e is just 22 litres per limit while the 21e is 21 litres per minute.

My Bosch Optiflow 20 hot water system stays on when I am not using the hot water. I noticed when I walked past the unit and it was blowing out hot air nobody else was home. I had to turn it off at the power . I now have to turn it on when I need hot water because it will not turn itself off

Bosch Hot Water & Heating
Robert B.Bosch Hot Water & Heating

Hi Ronald, we're sorry to hear about the difficulty that you're experiencing with your unit.

The fan of the OptiFlow will always run for 3 minutes once a hot tap is turned off. If the unit is running continuously with no hot tap on, it is possible that there is a leak in your hot water line. If this is the case and you can hear water running through the unit with no hot tap open, we recommend that you shut off the water isolation valve to the unit and phone a plumber.

We can assist you with getting in touch with an approved service technician at 1300 30 70 37 on a weekday any time between 7:30AM to 6:00PM (AEST).

I dont have the tf 400 but i hv the 10p water wizard ...not sure if similar but ive had similar problems.what ive put the pilot light going out and the main burner going out after 2 minutes or so is that there wasnt enough air flow.i used a holesaw to drill out a 30 mm hole in line with the pilot so if my ignition wont light i can use a gas extended lighter and also proped up the glass cover where the buttons are half way and put a makeshift hood over these .this has been an excellent fix and hasnt gone out in 3 weeks.try this and if it doesnt work just cover hole back up and drop glass screen..good luck.

Having the same issue with our Bosch 10p. Full burners on all the time and then it will just cut out (usually if we’ve turned on a hot tap once or twice at some point).

Hi,
Start by making sure all your taps are off.
There should be two valves on the pipes outside the unit. Turn them both off for 20 seconds or so, then turn them back on. Done.
The unit locks-out if there is any air in the gas line. As its ignition is hydro-powered there is no need for lighter or matches.
I hope ur hotwater has already been restored, but if not, i hope this solves your prob.
Good luck.
C.

Had this same problem with my 16P just a short while ago. Was frantically trying to restart pilot but the off button I pressed by mistake would not pop up again Rang up their help line but the lady said nothing can be done but should call the plumber. Was about to call plumber but in meantime read a useful reply from a guy who said he sprayed WD 40 and just depressed a few times and off button popped up again. In my case the off button popped up again when I depressed the pilot light button. Saved me frustration and probably about $100 for plumber to come round. Bosch products are excellent as this unit is 6 years old and has been trouble free. The attitude of their service and management however is another matter altogether. Hope this advice helps someone.

Pilot Ignition 10P

I have purchased a property with a Bosh 10p HWS. The property has been vacant for 8months. The only two Gas appliances at the property are gas hot plates and the HWS. The only gas being used on the property is the pilot light on the HWS - the quarterly gas bills have been $70.00 for each quarter. This seems a lot for just the pilot light burning. Any suggestions please?

This is your connection fee from your gas company - you pay $70 a quarter even if you don't use any gas.

The pilot needs to warm itself up for a while. Keep the button held in for about a minute until you see the colour of the flame change, then release slowly. If it goes out, try again. I'm no expert but I think the warmth of the pilot might actually draw that little bit of gas that keeps it going. No warmth = no draw?

I have the exact same issue right now.
Does anyone have an answer?
Should the "Off" button remain depressed or is there something wrong with our switch?

Hi,
I found the same issue in an other forum.
Yes, when the "Off" button is stuck depressed, no gas will flow to light the pilot light.
The forum suggested using WD40.
I just tried this and it works. Just spray the WD40 around the edges of the button to try and get some oil into the back of the switch.
I gave it a couple of pushes and out popped the button.
Next time I will use graphite as WD40 has a tendency of gumming up making these issues worse in the long term.
But for now I have hot water again!

Pilot Ignition 10P

Hello
I have a Bosch 10p. Hot water service. It used to deliver piping hot water very reliably. However, over the last couple of weeks the temperature of the hot water it produces has fallen. now it is little more than tepid from the shower. Strangely enough, it seems to come out hotter from the laundry tap than it does from the shower.
What do you think could be the cause?

Sorry, I have no idea! I don't understand the first thing about them. Depending on how long you have had it, it may still be under warranty, so I suggest you ask Bosch. Be wary about getting a Bosch technician out though, as I've heard if they say nothing is actually wrong with it you may have to pay a hefty fee.

possibly something like the diaphram or a service kit will MAYBE fix your problem and cheaper than you think around $100/$200 tops because the bosch techs usually have most spares with them if its fixable instead of i'll be back soon just got to go and get parts from bosch (another hour you pay for) so i say phone up the local bosch helpline and get it fixed in 24/48 hours then have it serviced every 3or4 years and all SHOULD be good
