To answer my own question, yes it's compatible I find.

If you google the drill name and 'batteries' you will find them. You can still buy the drill.

I have the same problem. But when i keep pulling the trigger several times it will work. When release the trigger it will go off and hard to turn on again. I need to press the trigger few times until run

I found the solution
Resitantance between Minus and next contact versus Drill is currently 3.17 KOhm. Too less.
Drill works with a rerstistor in Accu within range 3.2 to 3.4 KOhms.
I will replace the resistor by one of 3.3 KOhm

Bit difficult to tell on mine as they're quite old, but It looks like 1.3 or 13 on both batteries. I should think more likely 1.3 Ah

I've just glanced at the manual and it sounds like there's an inbuilt protection against overloading the drill (ie too much torque on the motor therefore too much current required). It also says something about thermal overload protection too (ie overuse of the motor - my shredder has one which prevents it turning on after about 10 min of continuous use). It prevents the motor from burning out.

I've never experienced this so I'm not sure if this helps.

I have experienced the flashing light a number of times when: a) I am drilling larger diameter deep holes in hardwood without adequately clearing the swarth from the helix. or b) when I use a larger diameter tungsten tip drill bit in cement. Both are high load apps. If the light is flashing when the drill not under load, it is clearly faulty. I have not seen this problem yet. Sorry i can't assist you.

I have a different model to yours (18v) and this problem does not occur with it. If this happens when the drill is not under stress or heavy load, It would suggest an abnormal problem requiring advice from the manufacturer.

A battery can be virtually flat, yet the LED will still light up since it requires much less power to make the LED shine than it does to operate the drill. Make sure you've done a fresh charge on the battery. On my charger, the green LED flashes while charging and stays steady once fully charged. If you have a spare battery, do the same with it. You can get a bad battery, but if you can try two batteries, then the odds of this being the problem is probably pretty small. Otherwise the charger could be faulty. Keep an eye on when the green LED goes steady. It should take around 4-5hrs from memory.
One other thing, my drill's forward/reverse "button" has 3 settings i.e. forward, lock & reverse. The middle setting between the forward and reverse, locks the motor. I haven't tried, but while it's locked, you can probably press the trigger and the LED may even light up. Make sure that the drill is in either forward or reverse and try it again. Good luck with it.

I think you'll find that the PSR18 LI-2 has a) two batteries rather than just one b) a very neat tool pouch containing: reasonable quality drill sets for wood, metal and stone; a set of nut driver sockets and some phillips head and cross hatch screwdriving bits. An extra battery really comes in handy ie: use one and recharge the dead one and vice a versa. Check out the cost of buying the L2 extras separately. I think you'll find the L2 package is OK.

Both drills come with 2 x 1.3Ah batteries, and both are shown in the ads as being with a kit. As far as i can see, the only difference is the switch on the top of the drill, and the shape at the chuck housing. The prices are AUD 139 and 199 respectively.

Li is single speed. Li-2 is two speed (drill/drive); hence the switch on top

The light on the charger is on constantly when the battery is fully charged. Whilst charging it blinks on and off. But you should always have a light when the chargers switched on.
