Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances
Hi FionaR, thanks for your question. The feet are adjustable so the height can be anywhere between 815-875mm depending on how the appliance is installed. Regards, Bosch Home Australia.
The lid is removable for smaller spaces hence the difference in heights

I’m in the market for a dishwasher, so many to choose from, although from what I read, BOSCH is a high ranking machine within the product review .
I have a pet hate of the top shelf holding cups, glasses not dry from the dishwasher I use .
Can I please have a view on how well the cups, glasses have been dried, any puddle sitting in base of cup ? I’m after a dishwasher that drys the dishes 100%
Look forward to feedback
Gabby

We turn our cup/glasses upside down on the top shelf which leaves the inside completely dry, if there is a small indentation at the bottom of say a mug sometimes a small amount of water pools there but the inside is always dry
I too turn my cups and glasses upside down ... but my current dishwasher does a bad job in getting the pooled water that sits in the base of cups and glasses . So even the Bosch drying cycle didn’t dry the pooled water in the base of the cups, glasses ..
The model I purchased did not have a top shelf. Only the standard cutlery basket. I use the auto setting so I do have to dry the tops of mugs; glasses are totally dry. The other dishes are dry. I have had and used other brands of dishwashers over the years but the Bosch brand is the best.

I have just bought a bsrch dishwasher which in the overview of programmes lists a prerinse and a machine care but I cannot see how to do either?
1 answer
From what I could tell from researching them, these are options in the Serie 6 but not the Serie 8. The first two auto modes do a pre-rinse as part of their cycle (not sure about others). There is no specific 'machine clean' option on the 8, my plan is a hot auto wash 75 degrees with a Finish cleaner (unless Bosch tells us different).

I notice some people talk about water in the unit as shipped from the factory. I also notice of the poor reviews talk about water ingress into the main board of electronics - especially if the unit is tilted (although I've seen repair techs tilt dishwasher 45 degrees just to get into the base)
My question is one of transport - can the unit be transported on its back/side (ie in the back of an SUV)? Or could this cause an issue? Especially if there is residual water. I wouldn't want to be jeopardising my new sparkle maker before getting it in the house. Bosch - what do you think?

Hi Narna,
Thanks for your question regarding the Bosch SMS88TI01A Dishwasher.
The appliances are testing during the manufacturing process and may have residual water inside them. We would recommend transporting the appliance standing up, they have a float sensor that will detect water in the base (which can go to the base when the appliance is tipped) this will set off an error code and you then have to wait around two days for the water to dry out.
If you have any further queries, please feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744 to discuss further.
Regards, Bosch Home Australia.
Thankyou for the reply, although it is a little late. We did transport it on its back and luckily have had no issues over the past week.
I would advise you tell your merchants this fact. We inquired instore (The Good Guys) both with the sales person and store-person if it was fine to transport on its side or back. We were actively told there would be no problem in this manner of transport. Please update the information provided for sales staff so other people don't make the same error.
Apart from that we are very happy with this great appliance.

Hi we have purchased a SMS88TI01A dishwasher. Does this have the warm water connection feature? I have connected it to warm water but cannot find it in the menu option to change from cold to warm. I don't want to use it untill I find out.
Thank for your help, Steve
1 answer
Hi Steve I connected it to only cold water tap and it doesn't have option like washing machine hot and cold tap connection. Water heats up inside the dishwasher while it's working. You will notice it when you open the dishwasher door after cycle finish everything will be hot so in my opinion it doesn't need hot water connection. Hope it helps.

I am a first time dishwasher user. Purchased my Bosch dishwasher 3 weeks ago but installation was completed a week ago. I used the dishwasher three times so far but on one of the washing cycle the tablet fell in to the handle part of the first draw and it was not dissolved. Is this a common problem with this particular model?
3 answers
Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances
Hi Alin,
Thanks for your question regarding your Bosch SMS88TI01A dishwasher.
The handle on the first drawer is designed to catch the tablet and it is then dissolved throughout the wash cycle.
There may have been an item in the dishwasher that covered the handle or prevented the upper spray arm from spinning which resulted in the tablet not dissolving.
Should you experience this issue again please contact us on 1300 369 744 to discuss further.

Never happened to me
We had this happen a couple of times with the finish tablets. Not had any issue after switching to fairy platinum

In January we purchased our Bosch SMS88TI01A dishwasher, the machine had a problem with not opening the tablet dispenser door, and a foul smell inside. Bosh service could not attend for at least 2 weeks, so Appliances Online were good enough to replace the machine for anew one. The new unit has the same foul smell inside and does not go away no matter what we try, and cannot be healthy. The young tech sent from Bosch seemed quite inexperienced and could not find a reason for the problem. Even sales personnel in retailers showrooms were amazed of discovering such bad smell inside brand new dishwashers. Has anyone encountered the same foul smell problem? Any suggestion? Help please.

Hi, still pondering whether this is the one I should buy to replace our old one. It has to have its lid removed to sit under our bench. I have heard that this makes the machine louder. Can anyone else confirm this? Thanks.

Hi we had to remove our lid due to size constraints of our kitchen cabinet. However the machine is still pretty quiet. Not sure if it's supposed to be any quieter with the l8d on though.

Hi Kim y,
Thanks for your question regarding your Bosch SMS88TI01A Dishwasher.
The lid provides insulation so without the appliance is slightly louder.

I would NEVER buy a Bosch dishwasher again. Their After Service personnel are very rude and very unhelpful and good luck in getting anything resolved because they simply do not believe you (the customer). The issue we had with our Bosch dishwasher (top of the range) was that after a while all glasses, plates and utensils would come out with grime. We had a service person from Bosch attend - placing blame on us re how we loaded the dishwasher and how we place the detergents. After about 4 washes, it started doing the same thing again. I wondered why I became so sick - having to see a neurologist...with many tests for over 12 months. It wasn't until we removed the Bosch dishwasher (that was obviously poising us with the chemicals...that would not wash off) and bought a Miele (Made in Germany). I LOVE MY MIELE and would not ever buy anything else again. Miele is the best.

I am looking to replace my existing Bosch dishwasher (a premium model - made in Germany) that literally blew up last week (with a puff of smoke that stank the house out) after 4 and a half years. My question is, what are other Bosch owner's experience in terms of reliability and longevity - how long do they typically last? Is the premium price tag of the German made models worth it and justified through increased longevity and reliability? (was I just unlucky?) The model SMS88T101A has glowing reviews, however I am not sure how long these have been in the market for and how old are the machines with all of the glowing reviews (< 1 or 2 years old or +5 years old ?) I would have also given my old dishwasher a glowing review, based on its excellent performance and quietness. However, my review would definitely change now after blowing up after only 4 years, given the premium price paid, for what I expected to be a superior quality machine that was made in Germany. Cheers for any feedback

Just rang the Bosch Customer Service number. They offered to send a technician out to have a look at it. The approximate cost would be $100 call out (depending on distance to travel) + $100/hour labour (depending on technician used). While I appreciate that they can only diagnose a problem by having someone look at it, I will not be pursuing this option and spending a few hundred $ just to diagnose the problem. My problems started with an E15 error - a flood error where the tray at the bottom fills up with water and triggers a float switch and shuts off the water supply. I may have caused the electrical short circuit myself by tilting the machine back 45 degrees to clear this fault, as recommended on many websites. The Bosch consultant advised me that this should NEVER be done as water can splash onto electrical equipment and cause potential damage to the machine, a fire or electric shock. I am assuming that this is what happened in my situation. So, a word of warning if you experience this error. Regardless of this, I am still very disappointed to have this flood error in the first place after only 4 years. The Bosch consultant said that it might be caused by a leaking seal but would need a technician to verify this. If you read the many reviews on this, and other review sites, this is not an uncommon problem with Bosch dishwashers. It is such a pity it hasn't lasted very long as it was a great dishwasher.
We also are currently getting our 4yr old Bosch dishwasher fixed. I was extremely happy with my machine, but being only 4yrs old, I'm now left with a difficult decision. Do I buy another Bosch or go for a different brand. Bosch seems to have glowing reviews but is it only for newly purchased machines? I too am interested in other people's opinions on longevity.
