Serie 8 WAS28440AU

I purchased this model at the end of 2014. I initially did not have problems but at one stage, cannot recall date (a few years ago) and documents filed away, I had to have warranty service done on it. It has progressively been getting more noisy, and I have not been as happy with the results. There are only two of us so workload for the machine is not excessive. In recent months, the noise is getting worse especially on the spin. On top of the normal warranty, I took out a 48 months extended warranty. Is my machine going to crash and die? Is my warranty still current as the receipts do not show full details of the normal warranty on purchase plus the extended warranty.
I have only had three washing machines since the 1970s, and the first two were brilliant. I am concerned that this machine is not even going to make six years.
Please advise of the warranty status and possible problems about to overcome my machine.

Hi Marj,
Thanks for your review, we appreciate the feedback. We're sorry to hear that you're having issues with your washing machine.
Bosch appliances have a 2 year manufacturing warranty. If you have a 4 year extended warranty through the retailer then it should still be within that warranty and you should contact them or their extended warranty company to discuss what they can do for you.
In regards to the issue, a washing machine being noisy is generally related to wear and tear or, it it happened earlier then maybe it was overloaded.
If you need any help, please contact us on 1300 369 744 we’ll investigate for you.

And drain pump works with draining.
I have had this problem just after filter problem be fixed with reset. We assume it is working to use turbo wash cycle but at the end of turbo wash cycle, cloths are still wet with door can be opened without sound of cycle completion ...
then, anyway to locate or read of problem with motor sounds under spin mode..

Hi I have Bosch WAS28440AU27 front washing machine. The handle on the door has broken or become dislodged. So when I shut the door the machine works but I can't open the door with the little latch or handle on it. I can buy the handle from Bosch at a very cheap price and it can't be very difficult to replace it. But I need to know how to get that handle out of the door. I don't want to pay 150 dollars for a technician visit. Can someone please help me? I just need to know how to separate the handle from the door.

Hi Loire V,

Thanks for your question regarding the Bosch WAS28440AU Washing Machine.

We would recommend checking the pump at the bottom right hand corner of the machine a few times a year, or if you notice the water inside the machine isn't draining properly.

Serie 8 WAS28440AU

My WAS28440AU has been a great machine and has worked hard.
However yesterday the machine stopped rotating the drum on spin cycle.

The drum rotates on wash cycle, so it's not a faulty motor.
When it reaches the spin cycle, the pump seems to remove the water from the machine but the drum doesn't start spinning. It just sits still for up to 5 minutes pumping non-existent water out, then gives up and displays an F18 error.

I have removed and cleaned the filter, and checked for blockages in the drain hose and the sump hose. I even removed and cleaned the pump. I even checked the bushes on the main motor for wear.

It's not an old machine but it is out of warranty.
Any suggestions as to what the problem may be?
I'm thinking the pump may be clapped out, even though it appears to be working.
Or could it perhaps be a faulty water level sensor?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I tried calling, but was in the queue for a while and ran out of time.
Is there an email address that I can use?
Also, from where can I download a user manual, or even better a service manual?
These machines only come with a pamphlet.

Turn machine off maybe restart and then pause straight away try that it might work if you have the open door feature on your machine.I have never had anything caught in the door so i am unsure but try that.

Hi Beeb38,

Thank you for your question regarding the Bosch WAS28440AU Washing Machine, we're sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues.

The flashing light and door jamming often is a cause of an error in the cycle; uneven load, or water not draining properly.

Please see the following video on what to do when the water is not draining properly from your machine here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXagvdpBMDU

Hi Richard, Yes you can replace the door seal. They are held in place by a wire clip and spring mechanism. They can be a bit tricky but there are some good videos on youtube - search for "Bosch WAS28440AU Logixx 8 door seal".

You should be able to order a replacement from your local Bosch service rep. My local rep was able to source most things.

Andrew
Andrew

I ordered one for mine as it perished and allowed water to spill out the front door. It was $165.00. You would think if they had a part that failed so quickly it could be sold cheaper to keep the customer happy. Unfortunately they chose to rip us off. If it wasn't such an expensive washer I would have scrapped it before giving those shysters another $165.

My bosch logixx is two yrs old, at the moment the spinner is playing up does anybody have a solution to the problem

1 answer
Xmas 25
Xmas 25

Our spinner started playing up, and also became very noisy (at just under 2 years old). It seems to be a common complaint reading the above.
Ours totally "fused the gears" and came up with F43.......it just stopped working. Bosch came out and are now replacing the machine, some 2 weeks after the fault came up and Bosch contacted. We only hope that we will not have the same problem, as the reason that I invested in such an expensive machine was the NAME, I hope that I am not disappointed in making such a large investment in a "dear" machine.
