We have had it for over 7 years. Very satisfied with the performance and when it did break down I contacted Bosch for it was still under warranty. When the serviceman eventually arrived I was informed if the fault was caused by cockroaches I would have to pay for the repair. I was told I needed a new bottom circuit board but I would have to wait a couple of weeks for it to arrive. As luck would have it a second serviceman arrived with the same story regarding cockroaches however he stated I would need a new top circuit board and I would have to...
Read more wait a couple of weeks for it to arrive. At that point I cancelled all service requests and cleaned the circuit boards myself and it all worked perfectly. I did query a design that allowed vermin into the electronics. The only other 'negative' is I too have experienced faded wording on control panel but no abrasive cleaning again poor design.Purchased in .

Overall, I am quite happy with this dishwasher. I have had it over 6 years and it has been faultless up to now. Always cleaned excellently and very quiet. Recently it stopped turning on. Called Bosch and they had a repairer out next day to diagnose the problem which was control module in the door. Parts were ordered and it was fixed day after parts arrived which did take about 2.5 weeks which is pretty standard for regional Queensland. Total cost was under $200 so was happy with that. The only other 'negative' is I too have experienced faded wo...
Read morerding on control panel but in fairness I tried to clean it with too aggressive a cleaner. Even though it looks like it's engraved, all the writing just comes off. Luckily we pretty much only ever use 2 settings but no idea what the others are now. Overall though, I would recommend it.

This dishwasher is fantastic, I can't fault the cleaning of dishes, but the buttons have completely worn off & you can't even programme your wash unless you have a photographic memory of all the buttons
Very disappointed when this could've been such a great dishwasher
Surely there must be a template sticker bosch can provide to rectify this problem

Purchased 18/1/2014 for $1743 including 60 months extra care warranty from Harvey Norman. E24 error 2022 cant be fixed. Less than 6 years and it’s throw away. Extra Care started from date of purchase. Paid for 5 years but this replaces the 2 years manufacturers warranty and doesn’t start after the 2 years. This means warranty ran out 18/1/2019. Absolutely pathetic for an expensive machine. Shame on Harvey Norman for selling 5 years warranty but only only really honouring 3 years. I could have bought a cheap dishwasher every year for what I paid for this one. Won’t buy again.

Not sure if I should be happy (it actually lasted for 5 years!) or frustrated.
Purchased SMS69T18AU/93 back in Aug 2014 for our new house, installed and started its lifecycle on Christmas Eve 2014. It reported E15 error exactly 5 years later on Christmas Eve after finishing dinner with a pile of dishes and dinning-ware to be washed, imagine that mess.
Tried to tilt the dishwasher to let out excessive water, opened the bottom panel to remove excessive liquid accumulated at the bottom which floated the floating wheel which subsequently triggere...
Read mored the anti-flooding mechanism. It actually worked, E15 error went away. A quick cycle make us excited, however, the next full cycle, during rinsing, E15 appeared again, it is consistently reproducible, so something (rubber seal or hose) must have broken, it is out of warranty anyway, so not worth repairing. Just ordered a Series 6 SMS66MI02A from appliance online for A$1036, make in Germany as well. The reviews are way better because it's a new model, most owner reviews are within 1 - 3 years of purchase, so it's very positive, while most of this SMS69T series' reviews are in between 2014-2016, which is close to it's problem-less `designed` lifespan. NOTE: some homework / research indicated that these Bosch dishwashers come with a design which allows water to leak into the bottom panel, in theory under normal workloads the liquid will dry out before the next run, if the machine is continuously used in a different pattern (heavier), E15 error should be expected, and once E15 appears, the machine will soon become very annoying, good luck with it.Purchased in at Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Appliances for $1,400.

Bosch dishwasher SMS69T18AU/01SERIAL # 013020275263016349. Purchased 22 Feb 2014:
Purchased for $ 1510 @ Good Guys plus $ 169 for additional warranty via Good Guys.
Dec 2018: Various events of Fault code E015 then cleared but then failed and finally stopped with a E09. Activated the Good Guys extended warranty REF# 21777. At this point i believe Bosh should have dealt with this at no charge in hindsight considering the amount of failure by other customers i have read.

So this unit has lasted 5 years until first fault.Tech claimed that the heat element and pump assembly failed then also for some reason had to put a new power supply module in??? As if when the heat pump fails and leaks it also damages the power supply either by moisture or by the failing element. One would think this german engineered and manufactured item as it is highly mentioned in all Boschs sales propaganda would make electronic parts not get wet when another part blows out. Hey its a dishwasher and uses water?? 21 Jan 2022: Proud Appliance tech finally comes back with the parts and supposedly fixes it and possibly the root cause of problem. Another point was bosch parts took 3 weeks to obtain.Purchased in at The Good Guys for $1,680.

When the dishwasher just came out of the warranty period we started to get e09 error code. We called Bosch and were not helpful at all. Told us to contact our local repairer. When we talked to them they said it was unlikely to be repaired under warranty and we would be charged just to inspect. This is the top of the line domestic dishwasher, $2000 worth, should get more than 3 years?!?! Most of our appliances have been Bosch as we thought they would last. Every one of them has failed early, cost us a fortune, and no help from Bosch. Stay away, Bosch not worth the money, the disappointments, or the headaches. Overpriced, no service, rubbish.

I purchased a Bosch dishwasher new just over 4 years ago - 16/3/15 from Harvey Norman. It recently presented an error code of E15. I attempted to clear the error unsucessfully by following instructions from the manual. I then contacted a repair company to service the unit. What has happened since is a complete surprise and has cost me much more money than I expected. The repairman has attempted to sevice the unit citing a number of issues from damaged sump assembly to burnt out heat pump and controller module. Costs totalling $950 if I wished t...
Read moreo repair the unit. I have ceased all repairs because its not worth my while. I may as well purchase a new one. The unit has been used normally in a domestic environment. At this rate I would expect this high end dishwasher with an RRP of $2399 would have lasted at least 10 years. This is a very poor outcome for us as we expected that the quality and design of a Bosch appliance was a worthwhile investment. All I got was 4 years which is not acceptable. I was advised by the salesman at time of purchase that the unit was designed for 20 years service at one wash a day. Avoid buying this one. Contacted Bosch - not interested.Purchased in for $1,899.

Having to replace this dishwasher as the heater pump and sensor have both gone on it. So disappointed in Bosch, we paid $1,700 for this dishwasher thought buying German made we would be buying a quality dishwasher. We may as well have gone to Kmart. Biggest waste of money ever.

Our home is open plan and our old dishwasher (dishlex) died and was industrially noisy.
This model is whisper quiet. We often open the door whilst it’s running it’s that quiet.
Majority of the time it cleans quite well
The downfalls are it smells horrid regularly. As yes we do clean it regularly.
And it doesn’t dry very well through to not at all. It must be opened up directly after finishing and trays pulled out slightly to air dry ( a good teenage prompter to empty it)
The quietness cancels out all negatives for us though
Not sure exactly when purchased, a few years ago and gets well used by our family of 6.

Under Australian Consumer Law products are meant to last a expected life span. Well just six months out of a 2 year warranty does not cut it. I may well be in contact with Consumer Affairs to make an official complaint. Clearly the sheer number of the same problems by so many people is indicative of a faulty product. Our Made In Germany SMS69T12AU is a classic example. Broken sump and short circuiting heater unit will cost close to what we paid for it to be repaired. That and the fact it kept tripping our power board safety switch, means the thing could have been cause for serious concern. Class Action thoughts anyone?

Appointed Agent came out, and could not find fault! having charged us $132. next Day error code 15 came up and unit was making strange whirring noises, not impressed and now repair agent coming back tomorrow.
Unfortunately like a lot of other reviews on this site, I am not satisfied with the life of this expensive product. It is just over three years old and bought as part of an entire kitchen package. In the last 2 months is onto it's second repair! The product is obviously not designed to last! The first repair was water leaking from the sump seal, causing the machine to trip the circuit. It cost me several hundred dollars to get 4 screws tightened which is apparently a common problem.
Now a few weeks later, it is not heating water. I have been...

Having searched the internet this seems to be a common problem. The dishwasher cleans very thoroughly and dries really well but this error keeps coming up. Paid $250 and a repair man came out said the screws were loose in the sump and water was dripping through tip the base, he said that if that doesn't fix the problem then I need a completely new sump. Could cost up to $600. A few months later the error started again. I'm concerned that by the time I get it fixed I would have spent over $1000. When I paid top dollar for this machine I didn't think that I would have problem after 3 years. What a shame!

To my delight bosch replaced the sump and another part free of charge. I suspect that this would have cost close top a thousand dollars to repair. I'm very grateful top bosch!
Less than 3 years old but out of warranty. Machine has no power. Technician (at cost of $100) tells me that the main power board has failed and will cost around $500 to replace. Used to think Bosch was good quality. Won't be buying another. Would think a dishwasher priced a close to $2000 would last more than 3 years. Now need to decide whether to spend the $500 or buy a reliable product.

Great dishwasher. Have had different so called "Australian" made machines in the past but I can't go past this German made machine. Its lives up to the precision made standard that this brand is expected to live up to. It is very quiet and cleans very effectively, even better than other expensive dishwashers in the same price range. Just love the cutlery draw tray & the adjustable other racks for when yo have large pots & pans to wash.

I have an SMS69T18AU/73. Recently the touch panel has become almost unusable. The timer buttons seem to press themselves and if I try to press any of the buttons other options will select, it's like a rebellious teenager doing everything other than what you want to do. I can no longer set it for a delayed start. This has been happening on and off for the past 6 months at least but I can still get it to start at least.
Just as of today now it gets most of the way through but then fails with a water supply fault. I've checked the supply which is fine, as is the filter in the tap connection.
I realise that these are each very isolated issues, but I'm inclined to wonder if it's worth my while looking for a fix for each of these issues?

Earlier this morning I asked a question about how to release my dishwasher from the ECO program. I eventually found the answer on Page 21 of the manual. To reset the machine it is not sufficient to hold the START button down until the 0.01 starts flashing. You have to actually run the unwanted program for the one minute and let it go through to completion. When next you turn the dishwasher on you can choose your preferred program again. Not very intuitive but at least it works. Kevin
