Blenders Buying Guide
Our buying guide will explain which type of blender would suit you most, how much you can expect to pay for one, and which features are worth looking out for.
horribly designed at most critical point
Blender lasted 7 weeks of limited usage (2 people every other day use) before design failure. For some reason Breville engineered the blender such that the powerful motor connects to the blade via a very short oval axle which sits awkwardly (held by glue!) in a very shallow circular notch in a cheap plastic piece holding the gear for the blade. Why mediate metal with plastic?! Completely not sustainable when subject to massive speeds and torques this thing creates. Now trying to figure out what to do being it has a "7 year warranty" that only offers a new unit when the unit is designed to fail in no time flat. Going to call Breville and demand refund for this engineering disaster. $400 paperweight after 7 weeks.

My base also chewed itself up after a year
I had almost the exactly same experience. Strange smoking smell and funny rattling noise after only a year of pretty light use. Rubber disentegrating. Very disappointing considering price.

Base chewed itself up.
This was a great blender, I love the glass jug. I bought the blender maybe 2 years ago and barely used it. Over the past six months I started using it 3-4 times a week for fruit/veg smoothies and my Breville blender totally chewed itself (rubber parts) up. No longer useable. Why the important parts are made of rubber.... bad design. After every use the rubber disintegrated and required cleaning under the jug. Eventually the rubber burned up creating smoke and tore to pieces, making it useless.

Great Machine
Bought this just before Xmas, we use it nearly everyday. It is fabulous, the milk shakes are to die for. Absolutely love it and highly recommend it. Although it is quite expensive, there are some really good buys. We bought ours for under $600.00. Suggest shopping around and checking the sales, well worth the leg work.

Exceeding all expectations!
Having purchased great Breville products in the past (coffee machine, microwave, rice cooker) I was easily convinced to buy this blender when upgrading from a Magic Bullet. The Boss is incredible, I've made tasty green smoothies and juices every day. Hot soups with amazing texture, dips and cocktails, this blenders does it all with ease. Carrots, apples, berries and nuts all blend quickly into smooth, frothy, delicious drinks. it is noisy but this is understandable when you see how powerful it is. the auto clean function is brilliant. Don't bother with the cheaper blenders, I wish I always had this machine instead of drinking lumpy smoothies the past few years.

Love it!!
Purchased my Boss just over a week ago and I'm loving it. It looks amazing on my kitchen bench, and it's so easy to use. I make a green smoothie everyday - in one minute I have an amazingly smooth green smoothi to pack in my bag for my early morning start at work. In just another minute it's clean - using the auto clean function. Crushes ice like a real boss too! I just know this is going to be a much machine! Thanks Breville! I purchased my Boss from Myer and got an extra jug included! Smiles all around.

Fabulous product
I purchased this Breville blender in February 2015 and have used it daily since. I really haven't missed a day and it hasn't missed a beat. I mostly use it for green smoothies which it handles with ease. I blend solid uncooked veges, carrots, beetroot as well as all kinds of fruits. I also use it for nut butters, also a breeze. Very easy to clean. It is rather heavy as I don't leave it on my bench top, but very solid. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a super blender.

I'm Incredibly happy with my Boss. Wow. Power. Grrrrrrrr!
It's quite strange reading the rest of the reviews here. This piece of equipment has been in my house for six months now. I wanted to test it thouroughly before making a judgement. I'm actually quite shocked on how good it is. The power is immense, and the quality of the build is solid and feels very expensive. I keep mine on the bench as you never use an appliance that doesn't stay on the bench.
I drink vegetables, fruits and berries every morning. Hard veggies like carrots are just disintegrated into juice! The frozen fruits and berries ...Read more
do not even make this machine blink. Throw in a tray of ice. Big deal.... It's gone. The power is really staggering. I have second jug. I feel incredibly spoiled. I purée fruits and vegetables for making my own bread and it turns them to silk. Make my own almond flour. Boom it's done. I get zero vibration and I sometimes instinctively put my hand on top of it to hold it, but it's not necessary, it's solid as a rock. I have two observations though after using it. If you have a recipe page, book, receipt or heaven forbid flour on the bench when you turn it on prepare for a cyclone. Because of the power there can be some air pressure from the machine. Wow. We have lift off. I get a kick out of it, now that I expect it. Secondly, don't use anything in you soup function that is not either okay to eat in a semi raw but thouroughly hot phase. I tried to put an onion in the soup just to see what would happen. I did have to cook it. Anything else like my cauliflower and bean soups are fine. Bloody creamy soups with no dairy. Just stay away from the onion. Maybe try a spring onion instead.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Had potential...
I was excited about getting this blender because it pretty much can do anything... or claims it can.
Everything about this blender is awesome but unfortunately hasn't been engineered properly, AT ALL.
The blender is undeniably DAMN powerful... probably the most powerful on the market at the moment. So as a result, there is a ton of vibration during use.
The base that the jug sits on is rubber coated I assumed. During use the jug vigorously rubs against the base and damages the rubber coating, leaving behind a mess of rubber particles. Why th...Read more

Perfect!
This was a lot more expensive than other blenders, but you really do get what you pay for.
Does a beautiful job of my green smoothie, nut milks and soups. In fact everything. Great auto settings that mean you rarely ever need to shove ingredients down to get it to blend. Unlike other blenders!
Well done Breville

This blender changed my life!
I replace one meal every day with a green smoothie made in The Boss. It's the only blender I've found that is powerful enough to smoothly texture delicious drinks from ingredients such have as Kale, raw beetroot, carrots and spinach.
I've lost 10 kilograms, my cholesterol and blood sugar levels are now normal and I'm no longer worried about diabetes. My kids are also drinking the green vegetables that I couldn't get them to eat. Definitely my favourite appliance!

Best Blender
I've used a lot of blenders in my life and this is the best I've ever had. We bought it mainly to make green smoothies, which it does to perfection, including nuts, seeds and tough leaves like kale. It has automated settings including one for green smoothies, which mean you can just set it and walk away to get your glasses ready. It blends anything smoothly and efficiently and also mills seeds, nuts and grains. I use it to make my own LSA and to mill pumpkin seeds for baking my favourite lavosh recipe. It also grates parmesan cheese, no matter ...Read more
how tough, quickly and efficiently, which is more than any of my previous blenders can do. It has programs for making hot soup and cold sorbets and can do mayonnaise or any other sauces in seconds. This is an amazing machine. One thing it won't replace the food processor for is chopping vegetables for salads or soups where you want an even, coarse chop. It tends to chop too finely for this purpose. Neither will it grate vegetables, so I still use my food processor for these tasks. However it does everything else and is wonderfully easy to clean. For water-based mixtures and smoothies, just rinse it out under the tap after use and it's totally clean. For oily foods, nuts or other foods that cling, it has an automated cleaning cycle which works perfectly. Just fill it with half a litre of warm water and a few drops of detergent and put it on auto clean. It comes up immaculate.1 comment

Was so excited about the product until I opened the box...
I have been researching for high-end blenders for almost a year before making a decision. It got to a final decision between the Vitamix 750 and the Breville the BOSS superblender. Considering the reviews I have read on the internet, the youtube videos showing off some skills from both models, I finally choose to go with the Breville The Boss. I was SOOO excited when I bought the item I just couldn't wait to go home and start using it right away. So I got home and started to unpack the box. It was really nicely packed, well-protected, nothing t...Read more
o complain about. Untill I checked the Jug. There was scratch in a u shape near the handle. I was really disappointed not to be able to use it right away (otherwise I couldn't exchange it, store policy). I went back to the store and explained the issue. So they went and got another one out. To my surprise, the EXACT same scratch at the same place was there. We checked a 3rd unit, same issue. They even called another store and ask them to check it out. Same thing. U-shape scratch near the handle of the jug. My guess it's a fabrication default coming from the molding presses. But maybe I'm speaking way out of my knowledge zone. Nevertheless, in my opinion, when I purchase a brand new thing, I expect it to be in perfect condition. Especially at that price tag!!! it's not a 60$ blender! Would you buy a brand new car and accept to receive it with a scratch on it? I'm sure nobody would. The store tenant told me nothing could be done. So I returned the unit. I have sent my issue to the customer care email with pictures showing the scratch. Still no answer from Breville at this point. I'm really disappointed of the overall experience. Now I don't know what to do. Wait for another version or go with the Vitamix 750? Because I clearly won't buy a scratched blender at full price!1 comment

during manufacturing. The fine curved line is normal which explains why it is on all the jugs you looked at. It is not a defect and will not affect any blending task. The Boss jug is made from Triton co-polyester which is a durable shatter-proof material and is also BPA free. We hope this may clear this up for you. Kind regards, the Breville TeamSimilar opinion? Love my new blender
Things to love:
1. The sleek modern design, takes pride of place on my bench top.
2. The smoother-than-smooth smoothies, no chunks.
3. Finest sourdough breadcrumbs in minutes.
4. Smooth peanut butter.
It is so easy to set the preset options and do something else to return to perfectly blended smoothies. And, it also cleans itself!

Faulty Product. Poor After Service.
The Bad
1) Faulty- all three components of product (Jug (repaced), lid (to be replaced) and base (under investigation by Breville)). Fault similar to Emkat below - rubber residue from the base (now each corner of the rubber base is malformed as the rubber has been rubbed away), leaking jug (and burning smell) and liquid leaks through the lid (on the soup setting).
Unfortunately we didn't pick up on it as early as Emkat so have been going through the inconvenience of repair on a <3month old unit which in my opinion is clearly faulty.
2) Poo...Read more

Fast, versatile - my wife got this and now the kids call it 'Dad's blender'. No job too hard.. open your mind to new uses for a blender. High quality and has pride of place on the stone benchtop for easy access since we use it several times a day.

The best $1000 I have ever spent!
I spent a considerable amount of time researching and comparing the specs, cost and performance of the high powered blender market. I was willing to part with what I consider to be a lot of money ($1000) if the product was going to meet my needs.
Some friends of mine purchase a cheaper $500 blender modelled on the vitamix and the performance was quite poor. It was never able to blend to the smooth consistency that I wanted. Another factor I didn't like was the limited control you had with power and time being the only control.

ted to save up and buy the Vitamix for $999 (which is the basic package with the wet jug.) I was find g it difficult to part with this amount of money for what I considered to be an appliance that has the appearance and technology from the earl 90's. When I read that Breville were designing a modern product to improve on the vitamix I held of purchasing and waited till it was in stores so I could give it a proper comparison. Based on the following factors I chose to buy the Breville Boss:1 comment

Excellent Blender
We've had many blenders over the years, but none came close to this one. It just does the job - every time.
the Best smoothies, wonderful cashew cream and super smooth cauliflower mash. It laughs at ice cubes and grinds spices to wonderfully fine powder.
Sure it's expensive but in our opinion it is worth iy.
Simple to use and powerful, but best of all are the silky smooth smoothies.
It's loud! but no louder than the competition - and it's probably to be expected given it's power and speed.

Not suitably reviewed by Breville before launching
I bought this item as I thought it was going to be superb a bit like the Vitamix but was very disappointed. There was no decent cookery book for the appliance. one was posted to me instead of filling in form online to get book, but there were very few recipes to go with the product. Having rung Breville to mention that rubber was rubbing off from the base after using only twice. The next time I used there was a lot of fluid seaping out at the base of jug. I tried calling the same person at Breville many times and left a few messages but no reply so I returned like to Harvey Norman who were most helpful and gave me a full refund.
leaked profusely out of bottom of jug

liquid leaking out around the cap on the lid we are not filling up to the max line even at 1800 all the liquid is spilling out, what or how do you fix this

The black rubber (or plastic) base which the glass jug goes onto has started breaking down, with the result that the jar is not firm on the base and if under pressure (e.g. making almond milk so on mill) the jar starts to jump up and down and can then not be properly connected to metal connection. I'm never far away and can hear the difference in sound so I quickly attend to the problem, but it now means I have to stand there holding the jar down whilst the job is done (wearing ear defenders because The Boss is not quiet :-) ). Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, did you find a remedy.
