Extremely disappointing
After my 20 year old Sunbeam Sandwich maker gave up the ghost, I replaced it with the Breville Original. It neither seals properly so all the filling oozes out, nor does it toast/brown the bread no matter how long you leave it in. I find this terribly disappointing and I would not ever buy another one or recommend it to others.
Doesn't seal so filling oozes out and doesn't brown/toast the bread.

Just Brilliant
My parents had the original Breville in the 70's, a 4-up model that worked well.
Over the following years I had a sunbeam model then a few years back a "cheap" Tiffany one from Woolies.
I tell you, the other brands just don't toast as well, cut as well, and are shallower. It's no wonder mine sat in the cupboard for years until I simply tossed it out along with other useless gadgets such as a deep fryer, pie machine and waffle maker.
I finally had a craving for a jaffle since the weather's getting cooler and via an internet search found...Read more
the BTS200 (i.e. 2 sandwich) at Big W for an incredible $34 everyday price. The thing is just brilliant, heats up while I'm preparing the bread and buttering the *OUTSIDE* and getting the drained baked beans ready. Toasts hot and dark brown in 3-4 minutes (if it's too yellowy I leave it a bit longer) and cuts in half quite well, you might have to hold the 2 halves and move them up and down to fully separate.Similar opinion? My yummy dinner champ
Try making kids eat sandwiches with the veggies inside being seen! Thank God for this lovely appliance, they can't see them and they love eating them toasted in a yummy, crispy sandwich.:)
Efficient...4 sandwiches at one time!

The original and the best
I purchased this breville sandwich maker about 1 month ago from target. After going through quiet a few other sandwhich makers which in the end all ended up in the bin, this is like a god send. Does not heat up as quickly as the cheaper brands i tried but once it has heated it cooks your sandwhich super fast. Seals everything in especially great for melted cheese and cuts the bread so you end up with 4 triangles. Love it well worth the money.
I did'nt buy it sooner

Supermarket bread too small
The plates on this are too big for supermarket bread. I bought the biggest bread I could find at Safeway and it didn't reach the flat part of the pressing seal edge. The tinned spaghetti I put insde was leaking everywhere and the edges were not pressed together. Surely I can't be the only person who has experienced this?
cut well

If you're using the "larger" bread it has to be "portrait" not "landscape". That is turn the bread so the top faces left/right if that makes sense.
Purchased today I too am disappointed bread is way too small or plates too big, strange for Breville to make a boo boo.

Take it back before the warranty expires :)
Edit: this model has a known issue with food getting stuck to the inside so it might be worth getting a refund and buying a different model

why does Breville BTS100SIL Big One Sandwich Maker non stick surface peel off? The coating is said to be harmful This is the second Breville Sandwich Maker that has done this. Makes great sandwiches but as I have grandchildren I am loath to use the machine?

I don't know about the BTS100SIL my product the BTS200SIL has not had a peeling of the non-stick coating, and I have had the sandwich maker since December 7, 2017. Looks like your product the BTS100SIL is faulty.
