If you ever see this for sale don't!
I have just thrown out this sandwich maker because it took longer to clean than to eat the sandwiches. The black coating was starting to come off in small spots despite careful cleaning. So I was eating not only the sandwiches but the coating as well, how nice. Finding bread to fit this machine is problematic. Sandwiches come apart when you open up the machine despite buttering the bread properly. I noticed it is a great weight gainer too. I am so disappointed in this purchase. Thanks Breville not.

Dreadful.
Dreadful. Don't buy it. Wish I'd read about it before purchase. EVERYTHING sticks. Your sandwich WILL fall apart, and all the bread will stick everywhere. Your sandwich will look like paella.. It just will. I felt great nostalgia purchasing this maker, taking me back to a childhood of toasties. I tried. I really did but it's GOING IN THE BIN. Just. Don't. Buy. It.

So... Breville were very quick to communicate with me, and have been extremely helpful. They are hoping to resolve my issue. I certainly appreciate the actions of a company, who are willing to assist so quickly.
As a follow up, Breville have sent me a new machine to replace the one I had. So far, it has worked quite well. I'm wondering if there had been a batch that was faulty. So I would say, that if you pur... Read more
chase one, and it isn't up to scratch, then at least Breville will take your complaint seriously. I'm hoping that all new machines are behaving themselves, and hope this is helpful.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Not as good as my last sandwich maker
I've had this model for quite a few months now and although the rest of the family are happy with it, I find it's not as good as the last one I had. It's as if there isn't enough contact between the bread and the plates for it to get that nice crispy, golden crust. My last machine really had the bread turn brown and crispy and this one just doesn't no matter how long I leave it. Having said that the actual product is sturdy and functions properly, just not the way I like it to.
Sandwiches don't brown and go crispy

Now thrown in the bin! Sandwiches stuck to the "non stick" coating and were impossible to get off no matter how much butter was used.

Great, mess free toasted sandwiches
After many years with my previous many good brand sandwich makers, I bought this. I love that the cord at the back is protected so any potential spills don't get caught in the coil.
The plates are deep allowing generous proportions of filling. The only time I've had overflow is where I overfilled the sandwiches.
It cuts nicely and browns beautifully. As an alternative to buttering the outside of the bread, I use a quick spray of canola oil.
Just remember, the trick to a great toasted sandwich is to ensure that there is enough fulling to fill out the gaps but not too much that it leaks out as it cook.
Very easy to clean, quick and efficient. I would highly recommend it.
Easy to clean, generous capacity

Hi Silvio,
I'm not sure. I purchased mine at Myer so I would guess that they should have the model or at least be able to order one in for you? Failing that, try David Jones or The Good Guys.
