After owning and using just about every waffle maker on the market over the past 10 years this is by far the best!! I have now had the machine for nearly 2 months and make anywhere from 1-3 batches a week. As already said this machine is fool proof, set after set is perfect! Well worth the investment and I would highly recommend this machine to any serious waffle Fan :)
Fool proof, easy clean up, perfect waffles every time

after roughly using the waffle iron less then 10 times, we noticed the middle peaks were losing their coating and simply peeling off. we used no such sprays, metal utensils, or other damaging tools (as i work in a kitchen shop i understand how these can ruin cookware) and we only cooked waffles according to the ingredients and recipe's listed in the free e-book. a great machine that just did not last! we even cleaned theh machine to every specification after each use. not impressed

This makes the perfect waffles I have ever had. Make sure to fill the batter up just covering the peaks otherwise it will come out from the rims. It makes crusty on the outside and fluffy inside waffles. I used a recipe from food network. It tastes like better waffles than the expensive restaurants. You can experiment with different toppings.

To be straightforward, this machine is sensational.
Got this is a Christmas present for myself and approaching six months on, there's simply nothing bad to say about this machine. It's solid, well-built and easy to use. The waffles are wonderfully thick, perfectly cooked and effortless to remove. Its large size means it's suitable for one or a family gathering and the moat does indeed cook overflow (but if you put too much in it can still get away).
The included booklet has some recipes, but Breville's website has an extensive recipe book...
Read more you can download. Plain waffles, apple crumble, sticky date - all delicious and lift out without fuss. It may sound like I'm slavish to what Breville makes, but this is simply a case of someone making something that does exactly what it says on the box and makes it easy. If you love your waffles then do yourself a big favour and pick one of these fantastic machines up - you won't be disappointed. Simple to use, perfect results every time, well-built. No negatives.

We lived in the US for a few years and fell in love with waffles. Having returned to Australia we wanted to continue our waffle love affair and found the premade ones here just awful. I agonised about this purchase for a while as the machine is pretty pricey, but I am thrilled with it. Non stick, easy to clean. A bit heavy, but that is to be expected for a machine that can make 4 big waffles at once.

I had a panic attack at the thought of spending $249 on a waffle machine, but I'm glad I did because I love, love love it. The machine is a big, heavy, semi commercial machine making four large, deep waffles in three-four minutes at one time. The machine is completely idiot proof - you set the type of waffle you want with a dial, and set your colour preference. You mix up some batter, pour 1/2 cup into each waffle mould with the measuring cup provided, close the lid and that's it! It will beep when it is ready. They are perfectly cooked and eve...
Read morenly browned. The machine looks like it will last a lifetime, or two which is unusual these days. The con, is that the three basic waffle recipes printed in the thin booklet are incorrect, the list of ingredients omits sugar but it is referred to in the method, so check out the Breville online booklet of waffle recipes to get their correct recipes. But, I think the recipes are poor, I found them tough and chewy. Fortunately after trialing lots of different recipes (it is the home economist in me), I have found the absolute best - given below. The Only Recipe You will Ever Need: These waffles are the most light, tender and fluffy I have come across on the net, but crisp on the outside. If you want them crisper, choose a darker setting, I like mine on the 4 or 5 settings. If you want them dense and not fluffy, don't separate the eggs, just beat them into the milk but use a scant half cup measure as they expand more. If you want them soft instead of crisp, stack them when they are made and the steam will soften them. The oil works better than butter as they remain soft and moist. 1+3/4 cups SR flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1/2 tsp salt mixed in a large bowl. 1+3/4 cups milk, 1/2 cup light vegetable oil, 3 egg yolks in a second bowl.
